Katara woke up in the middle of the night. She felt warmth surrounding her but the smell of Zuko made her remember he stayed the night. They were facing each other as his arm was draped on top of her but she was buried against his shoulder, listening to his breathing. She didn't mean to get this close to him and end up this way... she didn't expect to enjoy it so much.

Katara hummed a little as she blushed but stayed. She felt like there was someone else close, as if there was eyes on them.

There was movement outside her window but they were on the second floor, no one could be looking in?

Katara sat up as she saw a shadow move outside. Her heart beated frantically with anxiety as she got out of the bed and let zuko keep sleeping.

She bended water from the glass of water on her nightstand and turned it into an ice blade as she looked out the window on high alert. Katara opened the window but it hit something on the side. Or someone.

"Uh your not Zuko?" A male hanging on the roof looked at Katara wide eyes.

She let out a small scream dropping the ice on the ground and it shattered.

Zuko was immediately up and saw Katara at the window. He jumped across the bed with a fist full of fire and looked out the window where Katara was looking. The fire in his hand lit the side and zukos jaw dropped.

"Aang what in the fuck are You doing?!" Zuko grabbed the smaller male and yanked him in the room as the air bender rolled back to his feet. It was a boy shorter than with shaggy brown hair, blue peaking behind the hair on his forehead.

"I knew I was close to your room," Aang snorted standing up in his dirty fire nation prison clothes.

"Aang, what the fuck? As in what the fuck??" Zuko grabbed him by the shirt and lifted him off the ground with ease.

"I know I know, I got bored," Aang didn't seemed phased by behind picked up like this as Katara was in shock.

"Hey is that your wife?" Aang smiled looking at Katara. "Hi!"

"Is that the avatar?" Katara whispered covering her mouth.

"Avatar Aang at your service," he waved.

"Dude, you're suppose to be in a prison, you don't break out for a month and a half, why are you here?" Zuko let go and Aang landed lightly.

"I heard you got really badly hurt," Aang said sadly with puppy eyes looking up at the prince. Zuko glared down at him not falling for his tricks

"And I got bored cause you haven't visited me in a while," he crossed his arms pouting.

Zuko smacked him across the back of his head.

"Because ozais been on my ass," the fire bender scoffed.

"I'm sorry but he just broke out of his prison? Isn't someone going to notice?" Katara hissed at the boys.

"My cell is blacked out right now with the moon being covered, can't see in it anyways," Aang smiled at her.

"And getting back in?" She crossed her arms unamused while Zuko yawned.

"I've done it before," Aang laughed nervously. Katara looked at him then Zuko and back at Aang. "I've been trying to earth bend lately but i don't think im getting anywhere with it,"

"Alright, if I'm asked about this I'm saying I have no idea... and yes Zuko got stabbed twice with poison on the knife and almost died," Katara threw her hands up giving in as zukos eyes widen with betrayal.

"Poison?!" Aang cried out but Zuko immediately covered his mouth.

They were all silent as they waited for a moment to pass making sure no one else was awake.

"Hey oh so great avatar, please keep your airhead hole shut," Zuko glared down at him as Aang looked up at him with his big grey eyes.

"Why didn't you just go down by appa? Your in the middle of the palace and where your fuzzy monster is," Zuko let go finally as Katara raised a brow.

"Appas not at the North Pole with Yue?" Aang asked confused.

"No hes at the air temple?" He frowned.

"When am I meeting this fuzzy monster?" Katara asked curiously.

"I'll take You to see appa," Aang smiled back as Zuko stood between them.

"No," Zuko rolled his eyes.

"Why?" They both pouted.

"Because we don't have time, and a way to get there, your glider is at the air temple too," he inhaled a breath to contain his rage, pinching the bridge of his nose in irritation.

"Aang I need to talk to you anyways, let's go to the roof," Zuko looked at the avatar tiredly. He had a very rude awakening.

Katara watched them as Aang kicked his air bending at Zuko making the prince yelped in surprise when he went out the window and another blast of air that threw him to the roof. Aang smiled back at Katara before he went to the roof as well.

"She's really pretty, you never mentioned she's so pretty," Aang blushed a little when Zuko walked to the center of the roof.

"What? Yea she's gorgeous of course, known fact," Zuko rolled his eyes a little.

"Have you fallen for your wife yet?" Aang teased but Zuko pushed him away.

"No, she's a great friend," Zuko said flatly, he had to lie to Aang so they could actually concentrate on what's important.

"When are You going to the prison again?" Zuko sighed a little.

"Before sunrise, I break out of there all the time," he snorted a little pushing his hair away. He hated having hair but he couldn't shave it yet.

"Have you told her about the invasion? What the plans changed too?" Aang messed with his hair but there was silence. He looked back at Zuko who had his arms crossed and had his head turned to watch the city in the distance.

"Zuko?" Aang questioned.

"No, I've thought about it, I'm not going to tell her," Zuko whispered.

"What? Why?" Aang frowned as all his bubbly happiness faded.

"She'll disagree, she'll argue, the plan will fall through," he swallowed. "I'm not risking it all just for her to tell me otherwise and she won't do her part,"

"What is her part?"

"Leaving me and go find you at the prison, escape to appa and get as far from the fire nation as you can," he pursed his lips.

"Yue and Sokka are aware of the plan, they'll meet you at the coast by the air temple, I need you and Katara safe, that's more important," Zuko explained softly, he knew no one would like it.

"Your safety is important Zuko!" Aang snapped.

"You're coming with us," he glared.

"I'm getting my uncle out but I can't leave," the prince narrowed his eyes back as a warning.

"Ozai will kill you," aangs voice shook.

"I'll be fine, but You and katara... you two I trust the most to save the fire nation from its history, I know Katara will save my people from our past, if I win the Agni kai against Ozai but something happens to me.. she's next in line as my spouse, we're one step closer now," he explained as if he's known this was the future all along. The look in his eyes wasn't fear nor sadness, but it was acceptance for himself, and hope for his home.

"When I die, I trust you'll help her with making peace in the world," Zuko smiled back at the young avatar.

"You're not going to die," aangs eyes watered a little.

"It's Ozai, if he was more than willing to burn my face as a reminder for humiliating him, I'm sure he'll kill me for trying to take his throne," Zuko chuckled shaking his head. He had to laugh.

"Don't say that, don't say that even if you think it's true," a few tears slipped down aangs face.

"I'm sorry," he whispered.

"We have eight minutes during the eclipse, after that eight minutes is up I'm challenging my father," Zuko cleared his throat as Aang bowed his head down.

Aang was now silent as he had a hand over his mouth. Zuko walked over and set his hand on the avatars shoulder, giving him a reassuring squeeze.

"I'm going to try, I'm not going down without a fight, I want to see my nation in peace," Zuko told him calmly.

Aang immediately flung himself into Zuko with his arms tightly around his friend, Zuko inhaled a shaky breath letting Aang hang onto him.

"It'll be all over soon," Zuko comforted the avatar. They were all still kids. Aang was still a kid. A human with emotions.

"It's okay Aang," Zuko squeezed him tighter.
