Katara woke up on her bed as Sokka was snoring on the ground with a pillow and blanket clutched to his chest. She rubbed her face with a long yawn, she was probably the last one to leave the grounds from the wedding, she didn't see Zuko for the rest of the night but she knew how he could be with big crowds.

She went to the bathroom to change into fresh clothes and wash her face as well as comb her hairs tangles out. It was a quiet morning despite knowing the water tribes were still on the land. They weren't morning people usually.

Katara yawned a little and let her brother sleep in for the morning and quietly left the room and closed the door behind her.

She knocked on zukos door. There was nothing. Maybe he wasn't here? Went to find a spare room if Yue was maybe sleeping in his room.... She knocked again to see if Yue would answer.

"Yue? I don't mean to wake you but do you know where Zuko stayed last night?" Katara knocked but after another moment she opened the door when there was no sound.

"Is anyone even in here?" She asked rolling her eyes.

As soon as the opener Katara was hit with the scent of blood, her heart stopped immediately as her stomach dropped.

Yue sprawled on the ground with her facing the ceiling, red staining her blue dress. Katara covered her mouth with a shaking hand and turned to the side seeing Zuko in a pool of his own blood laying on his side.

Kataras body trembled as she stumbled back to the door.

"Help! Somebody help!" Katara screamed as loud as she could down the halls.

"HELP!" She shrieked.

Sokka immediately ran out of her room and saw she was only a door over, he heard his sister screaming and didn't hesitate to come to her call if help. He ran over and screamed a little seeing the blood.

"Go see if Yue is okay," Katara pointed before running over to Zuko to make sure he was alive.

"Hey hey, get up, Zuko you dumbass wake up," she grabbed his shoulder to turn him on his back but she swallowed a heavy lump in her throat when her eyes laid on the two stab wounds. Two.

Kataras jaw trembled with tears in her eyes, she looked over her shoulder at sokka.

"She's alive, but she was attacked too," sokka grabbed his knife and cut a part of her dress and ripped it open to see the stab wound. He frowned seeing some sort of black around the wound.

"Katara check his wounds," sokka told her quickly.

Katara lifted zukos tunic immediately only to see more black on his flesh around the stab wounds, like it was burns in a way but not, like ash...

Zuko groaned as he forced his eyes open and shoved Kataras hand off him.

"Stop stop it's hot, it's so hot," he whispered.

"What? Zuko who did this?" Katara asked quietly as she tried to get him to look at her. He barely could keep his eyes open.

"I-It burns,"  Zuko gasped turning his head away.

Katara forced her hand on his forehead, he was burning a fever.

"Is Yue conscious? Is she burning a fever? I think there was poison on whatever stabbed them," she asked looking for a source of water.

"Hey someone said Katara  was screaming, what happened?" Hakoda and bato ran in but they were shocked to see the attack.

"What happened?" Hakoda repeated wide eyes.

Yue gasped awake as she cried out in pain as Sokka helped her sit up.

"Where did they go?!" Yue cried looking around frantically but yelled holding her side. She almost fell back but Sokka caught her and held her to his chest.

"Yue what happened? Who?" Sokka asked softly as she shivered a little.

"I didn't recognize them, they wore fire nation colors though..." Yue pressed her forehead against his chest. His shirt was cold, it felt nice when she felt like she was burning.

"Why did they attack You?" Hakoda ran to her as he helped Sokka pick her up to move her.

"They didn't a-attack me, they were after Zuko, I tried to stop them, I failed," Yue sniffled a little.

"How is he?" Bato put a hand on Kataras shoulder as she was trying to stop the blood with her own bending. No water. Bato's heart stopped seeing it was working.

"He's unconscious again but the fever might kill him if bleeding out doesnt," Katara narrowed her eyes and focused on her husband.

She didn't have time to cry and freak out now, she had to focus on keeping them alive, keeping calm. She had to keep her head leveled.

"Bato I'm going to need clothes and a bowl of water, Sokka get Yue on the bed, dad help me get Zuko on the bed," Katara said sternly as she pulled back and everyone followed her orders.

"Do you think it was an assassination?" Hakoda whispered to his daughter as he grabbed zukos arms and she grabbed his feet to lift.

"If it was someone in fire nation clothes and going for Zuko... I don't want to assume," Katara gulped a little. Would they go after her next for being a wife? Or are they going after any leader? Was it Ozai..?

They got the two wounded on the bed and bato came back with the water and clothes.

"Someone needs to get arnook and see if any other healers are here," she bended the water over and immediately worked on Yue, her wound could heal faster.

"Sokka I'm going to need you to start cleaning zukos wounds, his looks deeper and if they were poisoned he must've taken the first hits, I need a clear view of his wounds, Yue's don't look as bad," Katara felt sweat run down her neck as she could feel in yue's system there was poison in her blood.

Would healing help or just close the wound? She could feel the poison, she could just bend it out... the wound was still open.

Katara inhaled a deep breath and went with her instinct. She slowly closed her eyes and focused on the poisonous feeling in the girls wound and ignored all sounds around her.

Sokka watched wide eyes as Kataras water that was on yue's wound started to have a black liquid cloud the glowing blue waters, Katara pulled one hand back and bended the black out of her glowing waters and put it in a separate bowl.

The men watched amazed and confused on how fast their youngest family member became a master water bender within the short amount of time she was gone, the confidence with it as well. And her technique was as if she's been a master bender for years.

Sokka watched her carefully as he cleaned zukos wound but looked at Yue seeing the pain in her face was starting to fade.

"The poison was on the blade, it's gotta be the source of their fever, probably to make sure in case the blade didn't finish the job," Katara explained and continued to pull the black liquid from the princess.

"I don't feel it as much but hopefully it'll just be the fever you'll have to fight off," Katara moved away to head to Zuko.

"Thank you," Yue panted covering her eyes.

"Did you recognize the attackers? Seen them before?" She asked softly as Sokka grabbed bandages to wrap the remaining of yue's wound.

"No, I just know they were fire nation, they held me back to attack Zuko, but I got free and tried to stop the boy with the knife," Yue explained and sat up when Sokka was done.

"But whatever they had on the blade, it burned, like it was red hot metal digging into my flesh," she breathed heavy holding her mouth.

"And that's after Zuko got stabbed twice with it," she gulped.

"Go find your father, you need to stay under protection and get rest, I'll stay with him, Sokka stay with her," Katara nodded seriously and moved the water over zukos wounds.

That only made Zuko rip out a scream.

Katara couldn't help but pull her hands back wide eyes, Yue and Sokka stopped fearful.

"Did it hurt with You?" Katara swallowed a lump.

"At first yea," Yue nodded.

"Shit," she whispered.

"I'll send dad back and we'll help, let me just get Yue over to her people," Sokka looked at his sister. Katara stayed quiet and scrunched her nose up before going to heal Zuko again without hesitation of what pain it might cause him.

His screams echoed down the halls.
