Isabelle's POV:
Amber drove me to my house and I changed into my bathing suit but put clothes on over it. She dropped me off at the pool and said "bye!" She drove away and I walked into the pool. It was dark except for a few lights, including the pool light. "Billy?" I called out. I set my things down and began walking around, looking for Billy. Music began to play from somewhere and I went to go into the lifeguard building when arms wrapped around my waist. I yelped and Billy laughed as he swayed me back and forth. I turned around and said "you scared me." He frowned playfully and said "I didn't mean to." "Yeah?" I said. "Yeah." He replied, leaning in to kiss me. I kissed him and pulled away. He grabbed my hand and pulled me over to the pool. He was shirtless and him and I stood over the water. Billy then pushed me into the pool. I came up for air and he was laughing. "You asshole! My clothes! Damn you, Billy!" I said. He continued to laugh and knelt down to my level. "Guess what? You can wear my clothes." He said. I rolled my eyes and he hopped into the water next to me.

"So what was the point of this?" I asked him. He pulled me close to him, sitting on the steps. I wrapped my legs around his waist and he said "I wanted some alone time with you, at the pool. Cause during the day, there's so many people. And I don't know if you know this yet, but I want you all to myself." "I happen to want you to myself as as well. Heather stares at you all the time. And she's pretty. How can I compete with that?" I said. The more I thought about it, I looked down. Billy cupped my cheek and made me look up at him, water trickling down his hand as he did so. "Heather is nothing compared to you. You're beautiful. So fucking beautiful. I want to be with you so bad." He said. I smiled and said "you mean that?" "Yeah. Of course I do." I kissed his lips and pulled away. I stood up and Billy huffed as I went into the water, submerging myself. I felt Billy's hands grab me by my hips and he leaned down to kiss my neck as he pulled me up. I played with the ends of his mullet and said "your hair is curly. And I love it." Billy grabbed a strand of my hair and said "you're so beautiful." I stared up at him and said "who knew Billy Hargrove could be soft?" He laughed and said "only around you." I bit my lip and continued to stare at him. "What?" He said. "Your eyes. They're blue like the sea." I said as I cupped his cheek. Billy leaned into my touch and said "I miss the sea." I removed my hand from his cheek and I said "what's it like?" "What?" He said. "The sea. I've never seen the ocean." Billy looked down at the water and then back at me. "It's awesome. You can surf it in, you can swim in it, there's animals in it. Like sharks." Billy poked me in the side and I giggled, grabbing his hand. "The sea is what kept me happy when I lived in California. Then we packed up and moved here. And at first I hated it. Absolutely hated it. Driving with the windows down and smelling cow shit, very different from driving in California. Where you could smell the salt water wherever you went. I lived in a small town by the ocean and it smelled like salt in the entire town." I held Billy's hand in mine, looking down at it. "Will you show me the sea one day? Take me to California?" I asked hopefully. Billy brought my hand up to his lips, kissing it. "Of course." I smiled really big and kissed his cheek, standing on my tip toes as I did so. The two of us swam in the pool, that we had all to ourselves. I watched Billy swim under the illuminated water, his hair flowing. "Please don't break my heart, Billy Hargrove." I whispered. He came up and I was sitting on the edge of the pool. He swam over and traced shapes into my thighs. I played with his necklace and he said "wanna come back to mine?" "I wish I could but I can't." Billy groaned and sat next to me on the edge. "I really wish you could come home with me." "So do I. But I promised my dad that I'd be back before 10:00." Billy stood up and said "come on. I better get you home before 10:00."
