~Tyron's P.O.V~

As the sun rose in the horizon I watched from a perch up on a mountainside as the survivors from the attack began to slowly converge in the centre of what once was a camp. The food court was the only thing still standing, but that was slowly being deconstructed as the last people took what food was left.

The command pavilion was still standing as well, as the leaders had one final talk about what was happening and the plan on moving everyone from here to where the lost kingdom was. There were still a number of sceptical leaders, but everyone agreed that it was better to start moving rather than sit around and wait for Garagain to find and kill us all. Blu was down there with them, but this time I had chosen not to go. I had a hard time being around those people and I felt I would snap if I spent any longer dealing with their bickering.

I sighed softly. Harry was with Blu, or at least around where he was, so I was taking this time to observe from above. They would join me later. We had promised we would be the aerial guard for this mass migration anyway. We were sure to come across some of those demon creatures eventually. I just hoped they wouldn't be to the same scope as they were before.

I didn't know what it was, but over the last couple of days I had been feeling a little... different. I can't explain it fully. It's like a tight feeling in my chest that has been building up slowly. I haven't told Blu of course, or anyone for that matter. They had enough to worry about as it was and I didn't want to add to that. But it was beginning to be annoying. Yesterday, when I had snapped at those men, I had been an inch away from breathing my fire and just burning them all to ash. I had a right to get angry at them, after what they said, but I thought I had more control of myself than that.

With a small growl I shook my head and opened my wings. Maybe a good old hunt would clear my worries. I'm sure Blu wouldn't mind a meal when he got back as well. Dragons don't eat as often as humans do, usually once every couple of days. We could go a week even without eating and be fine, but I was feeling a little peckish. With a slight grunt I pushed myself out into the sky and began to glide through the valley, searching the trees below for something that I could eat.

I pulled my wings in and dived down toward a small pack of wild pigs sitting in a clearing about a mile away from the rest of the camp. There was a squeal of alarm as I landed directly on top of one of them, snapping its back and crushing it into the ground. The others instantly scattered. I snagged another with my tail and watched as the rest ran into the forest, their noise causing my ears to ring. Shaking my head I snarled, quickly killing the other I had caught with my talons before laying it on the ground

"Son, are you alright?" said my father as he appeared from the earring he and mum gave me.

I let out a grunt of surprise when he did, "Dad? Oh... yeah I'm alright."

"I don't believe you boy. I lived long enough to know that something is wrong."

I snorted softly, "I am no longer a boy, father, and if something is wrong, I can figure out how to deal with it myself."

It sounded harsher than I meant it to sound, but I was not in the mood to be talking about my supposed problems. They were probably nothing after all, maybe the aftereffects of the battle. This strange feeling will fade eventually, there was no need to bring anyone else into it. He looked at me with narrowed eyes, studying me for a moment. He was a worrier as well, he had probably felt the same way.

"Very well. If you say that nothing is wrong than I believe you," though he clearly didn't, "But know that you can always talk to us if you need to."

"I assure you it is nothing," I repeated, but this time put in a slight smile as I did.

He nodded his head slightly before slowly fading out from existence, disappearing back into the earing I had on my ear. I watched him go before opening my wings and taking to the sky once again, dragging the carcasses of the two pigs with me. It wouldn't exactly fill us up, but it would be enough to keep Blu and me going.

As I flew back toward the camp a strange feeling suddenly washed over me. It was like a sudden burst of unwanted rage and malice. I let out a cry of surprise and faulted in the air, dropping my catch and falling after it, growling as I struggled mentally against the horrid thought. I didn't even notice as I fell through the grove of trees and crashed into the ground below, hard. I curled up, clutching my head in my talons and groaning softly.

'Tyron,' a devilish voice seemed to vibrate through my mind.

I snarled softly, "What... what is this?"

There was a chuckle, 'Tyron, I'm sad to see that you already forgot me."

I growled again, "Get... Out... Of... My... HEAD!"

The voice chuckled "You will never escape me Tyron."

Slowly the feeling began to fade and my eyes snapped open. I was breathing heavily, talons clenched. My entire body was shivering, with fear or rage I didn't know. For a while I just lay there, waiting to calm down, waiting to gather myself together again. Slowly my heart rate slowed and my head cleared. Growling I rolled to my feet, a little unsteady from the fall. It seemed as though nothing was too badly damaged however. A small tear in my right wing and a couple of bruises, but nothing that wouldn't fix itself. At least I could still fly.

I gathered up the two pigs I had killed and opened my wings, launching myself through the hole I had created when I fell. What had all that been about? I shook my head again and let out a small sigh. At least the tight feeling in my chest had gone away. Maybe I had fought it off? Somehow I didn't think so.

With a growl I looked back to the approaching camp ground. I couldn't let the others know about this. At least not yet. Not while we were in such danger already. When we got the lost kingdom maybe. Yes. Then I would tell them. For now, nothing is wrong.

~Tabitha's P.O.V~

I tied the last bag of our camping bags onto Blu's saddle bag, making him groan.

"I feel more like a horse than your brother Tabby."

I chuckled, "Well if you think about it, you are, but, you're intelligent, you're like twice the size of any stallion, you can fly, and you can breathe fire, and you have blue scales for skin."

He snorted and laughed, "I am not a pack animal."

"Hmm," I put a finger on my chin as if thinking, "Well you do carry our stuff around... so..."

"Hey, that's unfair. If I wanted to I could just dump all this stuff on the ground and make you guys carry it," he grunted.

"But you wouldn't do that," I smiled cheekily and patted him on the nose.

"Damn you Tabitha. You know me too well." he huffed a puff of black smoke.

We both laughed. Looking across the field I spotted mum, watching us with a slight smile on her face and her arms crossed. She had been helping set up stretches to move the injured survivors onto wagons.

"I missed this very much. I'm glad you are back again with us Blu," I said with a small sigh, leaning against his side as he sat down.

He rumbled in response, "I am to."

We watched as the crowd grew as everyone congested together, throwing what was left of their belongings on makeshift caravans that were being pulled by numerous different creatures. Not a lot of the usual pack animals had survived the attack on the city, and there wasn't a lot left to work with. The few remaining horses were being used to pull a couple of wagons, but for the rest people had to rely on a few volunteers from the more mythical races. I even spotted a very annoyed looking gryphon sitting down in front of a wagon while having ropes strapped across his neck and wings. But I guess everyone had to play their part to survive.

"Where's Tyron?" I asked Blu.

He hesitated and when he didn't say anything I looked up to see a worried expression.

"I... well he was up overlooking the valley. He may have gone hunting or something," he said, trying to sound as calm as he could.

"Don't worry, he's a tough dragon," I said with a small smile

"I'm now starting to respect you Tabitha," said a voice from behind us.

We both spun around in surprise to see the red dragon behind us with freshly killed boar held in his talons. Blu got up and let out a small growl of surprise, padding over to the red dragon and nuzzling him under the chin. I turned away, letting them have their moment but listening in at the same time, a small smile on my face.

"Where'd you go?" asked Blu, "I thought you said you would meet up when the meeting had finished."

"Yeah... sorry about that. I went hunting and... lost track of time," replied Tyron a little apologetically.

There was something in the way he said it however that made me frown slightly. I don't think Blu picked it up, but it was like he was trying to cover something up. I turned around and watched them as they talked. He seemed alright, though there was a bit of dirt and a few scratched scales on his side. He probably had a fall or something during the hunt and didn't want Blu to know about it.

A horn suddenly sounded over the camp, causing all of us to look up in surprise. At the head of the crowd, standing on a small hill, was a small group with Aaron at the front. The young wizard seemed a little on the tired side, leaning slightly against the long white staff that had been given to him.

"Alright! Survivors of Telaran!" he spoke, his voice amplified by magic, "I know the past couple of days have been... tough, but we must hold together as the weeks to follow will be even harder. As most of you already know, we are travelling through the kingdom up across the mountain range near Lysia. There is rumoured to be a haven there, a lost kingdom that we can use to rebuild. I know not many of you see me as your leader. I am not. But with my brother, the king, unable to rule at this moment the position has been temporarily passed over to me. I promise I will do my best to see you through these tough times.

Our trip is already going to be difficult, but with Garagain's demons hiding through the land we are going to be forced to make some rules as to how we are going to approach this journey. With how many of us there are I don't know if we will make it through unscathed, but here is what we have decided. We will not be using the roads, or at least the main roads, as they will be a place that is watched constantly by our enemy. We are going to try and stick to the mountains, as they are the safest place for us at this moment. When we are forced to leave the mountains and travel across the plains, we will not be able to use fires or lights at night, as they will attract anything with any sort of vision for miles around. And even when using fires in the mountains, please put them out as soon as you are finished with them. I want to reduce the risk of being found as much as possible. Is everyone clear with that?"

There were a few murmurs of surprise, but generally the crowd agreed. It was going to be tough, and we would have to deal with it. Soldiers moved through the crowd, making sure everyone was ready to move and helping tie down belongings and load the last of the food into the wagons.

Once everyone was ready the horn sounded again and slowly we began to move. Blu, Tyron and everyone that could fly, took off into the sky, not high enough to be spotted but low enough to provide support. I pulled my silver bow over my back and got up and quickly jogged to the front of the crowd, where Aaron was walking.

"Nice speech," I said with a grin, slightly startling the mage as he turned to look at me.

"Oh, hey Tabitha," he smiled

"Let's hope we get to this Helvarian Empire before Garagain's goons get us."

He nodded his head, "Yes, let's. I'm still a little unsure about all of this."

"Why?"

"Well, it's an abandoned kingdom right?" he said, "There must be a reason for it to have been abandoned."

"True," I replied, not having really thought of it like that, "But that was two thousand years ago. Whatever threat they faced probably would be gone by now."

"I guess," he sighed, "Well at least I hope so. I hope I'm not leading all these people to their deaths."

"Aaron, have some more faith in yourself. Have some faith in Blu," I replied, lightly putting my hand on his shoulder, "Whatever we come across, we can overcome. Remember, we fought off an army of thousands! What there could possibly be more devastating than that."

He smiled slightly, "Yeah, you're right. We can do this."

We continued to walk into the forest, looking ahead, and wondering what challenges we would be faced with next.
