↣ At first, she seems harsh and cold, she always tries to live up to her title as a goddess, but she only does it so she has a shield for when people try to hurt her. When you start to get to know her, you see that she resembles her Aunt (or Grandma) Frigga because she's caring and sweet, but it takes a long time to get through her shield. Like her father, she's also sneaky and cunning, always using what's around her to get out of a pickle, she's also extremely intelligent, but she isn't good at controlling her powers, she's also bad at making friends, she only has "followers." She always thinks before she speaks and since her father is the god of lies, she is an excellent liar, she also has the rulebook memorized font to back.

» Backstory «
↣ Hel is technically a goddess, her father is Loki of Asgard, and an unknown witch. When she was little, her mother hated her, Loki had always been viewed as "evil" in her religion (he's not evil though) and she was disgusted that she had his child. On her fifth birthday, Loki stole her from her mother's home (her mother couldn't care less when she didn't find Hel in her bedroom) and took Hel to Asgard, where she lived a happy six years. Soon though, Loki found out that Hel was horrible at channelling her powers, and had little control over them, he was quite relieved when Hel got her Hogwarts letter, and he personally thanked Dumbledore for letting her into their school, and Loki promised Hel would be an excellent and proper student, which she is.

↣ Hel's main fear is rejection and not being loved. For five years of her life she was neglected, treated like some slave or vermin, then she had the gift of being a goddess, and when she learned it when she was five, she's so happy that she found out she was a goddess and will cherish her place on Asgard all her immortal life.
↣ She fears death, when she was little she always thought she was going to die a young death because of how her mother treated her (plus she was already half dead which terrified her to no end) this is also the reason she decided to be the goddess of death.

» Interesting character flaws «
↣ Extremely stubborn, always thinks she's right (although she usually is), she has a bad habit of drawing on herself with her quill when she's bored (especially in History when they start talking about things her father lived through and told first-hand accounts on), she's also very bold, on the outside to ones that don't truly know her, she also seems very egotistical, this isn't really a character flaw, but she's very fierce, and she won't hesitate to hex you if you insult her.

» Favourite Spells «
↣ One of her favourite spells to use when duelling is Anaticula, it causes the victim's wand to produce ducks whenever a spell is a cast, she's one of the only students in Hogwarts who knows this spell (the teachers don't teach it for obvious reasons) and she doesn't feel like sharing it when she uses this spell, it's nonverbal. She also loves Petrificus Totalus, she's also a legilimens probably due to her father being a trickster and able to read minds himself she's only decent at defence spells though, she's more of an offence person, when she feels she prefers two on two (although she's amazing one on one and one on two) so the other person can protect her while she casts the spells that actually hurt the opponent

↣ As much as she seems to like it, Hel would never join the Death Eaters, she just acts like it around the Slytherins, but around everyone else she doesn't, she hates this idea of "Blood purity" because on Asgard on all nine realms it doesn't matter. She knows that when she gets older and is a full-fledged goddess she's going to do everything in her power to stop it. Not that she'll be able to do much from her realm, besides short visits, but those disgusting mortals that die off and come to her realm will receive punishment for their crimes, even if that's more of a Greek thing Hel doesn't care, sinners are sinners and they need punishment.

↣ Even though magic folk aren't good at it, she excels at Necromancy and the magic of death, she's a death goddess after all. She's also good at disease manipulation, any spell that has to do with a sickness she's good at. She's also very good at the dark arts, but she would never use it for bad (she does use it to establish authority over, but that's it.) She's also good at Fire magic, her father is the god of fire after all.

↣ It's mostly just fun and joking around together, they first "fell in love" after Hel helped Sirius back in the third year after he got hurt really badly and could barely move, he had transformed to his animagus form and was huddled in a little corner of the castle, bleeding out. Luckily it had been a Hogsmeade day, so nobody was in the castle, Hel fixed him up and he gave her a kiss on the cheek in gratitude. After that, she stayed with him during a winter holiday in the fifth year, because James wasn't able to take him in if he needed help, and Hel wasn't about to let Sirius stay with his abusive parents the entire winter break, and no way was his parents going to let him stay with Hel on Asgard, so she stayed behind and kept him company at Hogwarts. That was filled with cute things only couples would do, so they ended up realizing their love for each other, but never admitted it. The last incident before they got together was that she and Sirius spent a few months of the summer together on Asgard, Hel's home, they fell quickly in love and finally confessed their feeling fro each other (unfortunately Hel's handmaidens were spying on the two, secretly shipping them) and they got together. No one actually knows their secret, since neither of them would be caught dead sharing PDA with a "slimy Slytherin" or a "ghastly Gryffindor" but when they are able to show PDA, usually in the Prefect bathrooms (since they apply to Headgirls as well), the Headgirl dorms, or the Marauder's dorms. They're kind and sweet to each other, liking to cuddle on one of their beds in their free time while Hel reads a book to Sirius, running her fingers through his hair, or fur.

She dresses very high class in the typical Norse furs, they're all faux though, real fur makes her feel like she's wearing her beloved brother Fenris, she also loves faux snakeskin, real snakeskin reminds her of her brother Jormungandr.

↣ On Special Occasions - Elegant gowns tailored just for her on Asgard, they're typically in her father's godly colours, green, gold, sometimes flaming red, or her own colours, black and grey. If they're her colours, the robes seem to be made of shadows and darkness, and it's gorgeous. Of course, Hel always makes sure to thank and send gifts to the ones who make her dresses, and it's a typical Christmas gift from her royal dressers.

» Favourite Hairstyle(s) «
↣ In Asgard, it's a tradition that royalty wears their hair long and beautiful, slaves and servents were the ones with short dirty hair, on special events Vikings and gods alike would wear their hair are complicated braids. Hel follows these traditions to a T, she loves to wear her luscious hair long and down her back, a few tiny braids weave in and out of it (she braids it almost every night to make it wavy the morning). When it's not wavy and it's scraggly and tangled, the other students know she's been busy all night studying or something that stressed her, they also know that if they mess with her they will likely be sent to Madam Pomfrey quicker than you can say levicorpus.
↣ In the summer, she sometimes wears her hair in beautiful braided updos and sometimes ponytails with a few braids weaved in, in winter her friends, (especially Lily) likes to braid flowers and plants into her hair while they dip their feet in the lake, she's excellent at doing their hair as well. Although, if someone touches her hair without her permission, they might come close to becoming a Hogwarts ghost, she has a quick fuse after all, and she's very easily angered (she has the shortest temper anyone has come across, Professor McGonagal loves this though)

↣ She has a necklace with a pendant that is emotionally connected to Loki, meaning that when she rubs it, he can feel her emotion, she does this very discreetly.
↣ She is extremely self-conscious about her dead half, she always tries to dismiss it or cover it up as best she can.
↣ She may be extremely intelligent, but like any other teen, she gets stressed during exam times, to the point of wanting to go home, but she's really good at covering it up.

» Headcanons «
↣ For a few weeks of the summer holiday in second year, Hel brought the Black sisters to Asgard to have fun, they rode on the Bifrost, tried on many Asgardian robes, and had many Asgardian feasts, all four girls loved it and Hel promised that they would get to do it again.
↣ Her Raven, Ganglati, gets into so much trouble, he loves to peck at the other birds (he stays in the owlery) and he likes to knock things out of their claws at mail time and dive-bomb into drinks. Because of this, Hel usually has to pay the price, usually with detention and she has to pay for the damage he does, she still loves him though.
↣ Hel is absolutely HORRID on a broomstick, the first time she got on, she tried to act like it was her brother Sleipnir when she tried to ride it, but she absolutely failed, she accidentally caused at the very least three broomsticks to fly into the Forbidden Forest, one of them almost taking another student's robes with it, she got mercilessly teased for this during their first class, but the bullies were quickly put in their place when a sudden outburst of godly energy (caused by Hel's emotions) hit them. Needless to say, the students were sent to the hospital wing with *minor* injuries and Hel can barely hover a few feet off the ground on a broomstick. The Black sisters and Lily (although the two parties never interact) suspect it's because the broomsticks don't like gods and don't really react to dead people.
↣ Hel's religion is pagan, she believes in all the gods of "mythology" and prays to each of them, she also believes in divination, in her religion, at home, her grandmother and aunt both practice the most powerful form of magic called Seidr (Hel is pretty powerful, but she is nowhere near as powerful as her grandmother Frigg and her aunt Freyja/Freya) part of Seidr is seeing into the future and changing things in the future and Hel realized that divination is just a more diluted version of it meant for younger magicians and mages.
↣ More on her Religion Hel may be pagan, but technically she is a goddess, so people pray to her. She still celebrates the normal widely celebrated religious holidays though, such as Christmas and Easter.
↣ She loves to spoil her friends on Christmas though, she may go home to Asgard for the holidays (only once did she stay back and that was because James couldn't take Sirius home with him, and Remus and Peter couldn't either, she decided that by her own name she was NOT going to let that poor boy go home to that wretched family, and she sure as Hel wasn't going to let him stay at Hogwarts all alone, so she sent Gangalti to her father telling him that she was staying at Hogwarts for the winter, and she stayed with Sirius all Christmas, this was around the third year so they became decent friends afterwards, and hoo-wee the sexual tension was hiiigh)
↣ One year, she got Lily a dress that looked like it was made of the same thing that the spring winds were made of, it was an elegant green and Lily blushed when she received it because it looked so expensive! She also got Lily an adorable small baby dove, except the dove was a light shade of blue and not white. That same year she got the Black sisters many beautiful Asgardian jewels she magiced out of the caves herself and many Asgardian dresses.
↣ On Easter, she loves to hide eggs all around the common room, only, there isn't candy in there, there are small clues, the entire Slytherin dorm has to actually work together like civilized people to figure out what they all mean. In the end, if they're able to work together, they each get a lovely gigantic box of different sweets from all the nine realms. That is, only if they work together like civilized folk. If they don't they get a taste of Hel's wrath, because a queen must rule with an iron fist sometimes if she wants her subjects to listen. Usually it's Severus Snape that doesn't cooperate.
↣ Another unofficial holiday she celebrates is April Fools day, she sometimes teams up with the Marauders to prank everyone, or she goes with Lily and her crew, or sometimes just some of her Slytherin friends, it's always an epic battle every year, but they always have rules of what's off-limits, such as no permanent damage, no bleaching Hel's bones, no cutting anyone's hair, although hair dye is fine, absolutely no one is allowed to maim another, but the last rule is to have fun!
↣  Halloween is one of Hel's most favourite holidays because she's the literal goddess of death, this is her forte and she loves scaring everyone sh*tless, she's mastered so many dark spells and everyone fears her on these days, even the marauders, which she absolutely loves because establishing dominance is very important.
↣ As for her own religion, she actually almost threw a hissy fit when there wasn't a pyre dedicated to the gods for sacrifices of food, she sent an angry letter to her father about it and now there's a fire burning just for the pagan folk who want to make sacrifices to their gods, this was removed after Hel left school though, because Dumbledore's a hissy little bish (exact words of Hel.).
↣ Hel half-hates the house-elves, I mean, she's open to them and doesn't treat them like complete scum, but she grew up around servants in the Golden palace, so she was already used to things like house-elves. Of course, she doesn't try to be rude to them but she isn't exactly kind either.
↣ Hel loves the Hogwarts ghosts and has befriended many of them, she senses that they are in limbo and tries to comfort them as much as she can with her being the goddess of death, she always promises the ones who wish to move on that she'll see what she can do to help them when she becomes the Queen of Helheim, Ruler of the Dead, the ghosts are so kind to her, always helping her out of a pickle if she truly needs it, although, she fares well on her own, and always uses the resources around her to get out of trouble, a true Slytherin.
↣ First-fourth years are absolutely terrified in her and Hel relishes their fear, it's very funny to see them freak out when they see her dead half, plus when she demonstrates her power they cower away.
↣ Hel hates water, she goes as far as dipping her feet in the water and that's it, she hates getting wet and refuses to let water get anywhere above her waist, a stupid third year was once sent to the infirmary because of her when they sprayed her with a gust of Aguamneti.
↣ She does accompany the Marauders to the shrieking shack sometimes (only at the end of Remus' transformation though, not at the beginning when the four are being absolute oafs and running across grounds), nobody knows about this, not even the teachers, well, besides Madam Pomfrey. Hel has the advantage of not being harmed by Remus, and she could also shadow-travel, so she could get Remus to the Hospital Wing faster than any of the others. Of course, this completely drained her energy the first few times, but during those few times she was also able to shadow-travel sending see how the other three were faring, always checking for bruises and cuts before sending them off to get a scolding from Lily, she always paid special attention to a certain someone though. As she got older she mastered shadow travelling more, now she could shadow travel across grounds without much difficulty (and now only her fingers or wrists turn to shadow) but she does need a quick nap afterwards, sometimes she crashes in the Gryffindor dormitory or her own, it just depends on how bad the boys are medically-wise. If they're horrible, she orders them to go to Madam Pomfrey because she sure as her own name can't heal them, she did it to Sirius once and that was bad enough, if they're okay she sends them off to their own dormitory while she goes to her own, and if they're bounding bundles of joy and happiness they have a sleepover, sometimes with Rose and Lily.
↣ Because she is a goddess, Hel doesn't have normal periods like humans do, rather, she goes into a heat-like stage (no it's not like your bloody weird-arse Omegaverse stuff, this is more like animal things). For one month out of the year, it can be at random times, she goes into heat, then, it's just like a really long period, except it's less bleeding, more sexually frustrated. She feels the need to "mate" to have children, and she's only satisfied when she does, but, of course, she can't technically have children until she's around 25 in Midgardian years (she just can't, it was explained to her by her grandmother/aunt Frigga) but when she's sexually active she still feels much better. While she's in her two-month heat thing, she gets extremely aggressive, she always needs to go to the restroom, she becomes a lot more affectionate towards males [especially one in particular ;)], really bad mood swings (aroused and flirty one minute, angry and aggressive the next), appetite changes, and oh my gods the need to "mate" is so overwhelming and it doesn't go away until she's mated, but Hel is really good at suppressing these things on the daily, but when she's out of classes she likes to lock herself in her dorm room with only her roommate's company to try to deal with it on her own. The only other people that know about her "heat" cycles are Sirius, Lily, The Black Sisters, and Remus, although Remus found out by accident when Sirius nor Lily was around to comfort her and she ended up seeking his attention... you can figure out how bad or good that went. The only person who really understands this is Sirius since her thing is very similar to a wolf/dog's (not Remus though, I've never encountered a wild werewolf, other than Twilight, wanting to mate) and when Sirius is in his Animagus form he sometimes senses other female dogs in heat, so he and Lily are best suited to help her. (P.S. Note that she's not a virgin.)
↣ For the summer of their fourth year, the same year Hel found out about Remus, Hel invited Sirius, Remus, Lily, and James to stay with her on Asgard for a few weeks in the summer (Pettigrew was *ahem* busy). Of course, it wasn't hard to convince Lily and James' parents since they adored Hel and thought it'd be good for their children to explore, Sirius and Remus' parents were a whole different matter though. When Hel asked Sirius' parents through raven they flat out refused to let their son go, Hel was persistent though because she was going to have Sirius come on this trip, she sent some more ravens and she even threw her full title in, but still, the heinous Blacks refused, Sirius got embarrassed those last few weeks and practically begged Hel not to ask them again, and she agreed. Instead, she asked her father to ask the Blacks, of course, you can imagine the Black's surprise when a literal god showed up, highly unamused on their doorstep, to say the least, they agreed to let Sirius go and everyone was overjoyed. For Remus, the dear Lupins were afraid that he'd transform on Asgard and hurt people. Hel explained that gods can't be affected nowadays by a werewolf bite, and they can't be killed so it's okay, as for the mortals coming on their trip, they have taken safety precautions so even if Remus did transform, they'd be safe, after that, the Lupins let Remus go and the five joyously went to Asgard. Everyone absolutely loved the tour of the Golden Palace, Lily adored the gardens, while James loved the kitchens, Remus was amazed by their gigantinourmous library, and Sirius just loved the sense of serenity there, he also loved the bedrooms, bathrooms and the towers with views better than Hogwarts, and Hel's bedroom he took a particular interest in. For their trip, they were granted a temporary room that was gigantic and could easily fit the entire common room in there. There was a curtain that separated boys and girls, but it was vanished by Hel on the first day, there were six beds, two for the girls, three for the boys, and one gigantic bed thy could fit all five of them comfortably, there were also five bathrooms, one for each of them, but the girls found Sirius in their bathrooms on more than one occasion because he was "inspecting their products." While on Asgard, the four mortals noticed how stiff Hel was around the other Aesir gods, she was stiff and held herself in an impossible posture at all time and held her head high as if she had lots to prove, the only time this went way we're if she were alone with her friends, with her father, her uncle Thor, or her Aunt/Grandmother Frigga. Speaking of which, the mortals were able to meet most of the Aesir gods, most of them shook their hands and muttered, "powerful", under their breath before leaving. While they explored the realm, Hel made sure to get with her best tailors so that everyone could have beautiful Asgardian robes to wear (unless they preferred Midgardian clothes) and each got a dress robe just for the ball they were going to attend while they were there. It was being held in their honour and learning how to dance was hilarious. Surprisingly, Remus, James, and Hel were good dancers, but Lily and Sirius were horrible and it was fun to teach them. They also got on ride horses and other animals across the Bifrost, they got to meet Hel's steed Helhest, and they got to meet some of Hel's brothers, Sleipnir, the fastest steed in all the nine realms, Narfi and Vali, who were two little boys around 7 in Midgardian years and were spitting images of their mother, Sigyn, with strawberry - honey blonde hair and brownish - blue eyes, the two were troublemakers so they instantly hit it off with James and Sirius, something that made Lily, Hel, and Remus sigh. At night, they rarely ever slept, rather, they read books from the vast library, talked about their day or gossip, if they did fall asleep, it was always on the giant bed, they usually slept in the order of Hel, Sirius, Remus, James, Lily, but sometimes they just collapsed into the bed and fell asleep in awkward positions. After they got home the five made plans to go to Asgard again and they made sure to never speak of their trip to anyone else, only themselves or else people would get jealous.
