Daniel opened the door and greeted Zoe and her dad. The girl had a big bag in her hand and a nervous grin on her face. She offered it to Daniel who chuckled at the girl in return.

"What's this?" He asked as he went to the living room to open it.

"So, you know when the fight happened and a lot of your things were destroyed? I might have destroyed the live laugh love sign. And I felt so guilty about it that I got you a new one." She explained quickly, the man pulling it out to see the sign.

"Did you make this yourself?" Daniel asked in awe, Zoe nodded, "It's outstanding!" He set it on the table where the old sign used to be.

"Did she tell you how she burned herself when she was hot gluing the letters together?" Sam asked as she walked into the room, gently tugging on Zoe's hand when she got closer.

"I sacrificed these bad boys." She raised the arm Sam wasn't holding and showed the small bruises that would be gone not long afterward.

"Well, I thank you for the sacrifice of your hands."  Amanda nodded, lifting her wine cup towards her.

"Is that rose?" Zoe's dad asked as he walked towards the woman. She lit up at the fact that he knew his wines.

"My dad works at a winery on weekends. He knows basically everything one needs to know about wines. Plus, the owner is getting old enough to retire so he's working extra hard to convince him that he can take over." Zoe told the father-daughter duo with a huge grin on her face.

Although he may work too hard and she missed him, she knew he was doing it for her. He was working hard so she could have a good life.

"I hope he gets it, if anyone works hard it's him." Sam smiled as they watched their parents interact.

"Look at our parents getting along." Zoe grinned as Daniel walked over to hear Zoe's dad explaining the origin of Rose. The girls heard a door open and turned to see Johnny exiting the bathroom.

"What?" Johnny asked before shrugging them off.

"Didn't know he was here." Zoe turned to sam.

"Neither did I..." Sam trailed off. Zoe hummed before she and Sam decided to go upstairs.

"I don't think I've ever seen your room before." Zoe smiled as she looked around, "It feels like one of those rooms that you see on tv, and you're watching and it's like, I want that."

Sam grinned, "I'm glad you like it. Uh, do you want to listen to some music?" Zoe nodded.

The brunette connected her phone to the speaker, the first song being accidentally in love by the counting crows. Zoe's eyes lit up and started to dance around to the song. Sam laughed at the girl's obscure dance movements as she started to mimic a person fishing. Zoe heard her laughing, and then she remembered what Miguel said about making a move. So she did.

Before the brunette knew it, Zoe grabbed her arm and spun her around. The two girls held hands as they bounced around not having a care in the world. Sam then spun Zoe around before she spun her into her arms and dipped her. When she was lifted, the two girls stared at each other, it was a look of affection. Sam moved in closer to her, Zoe feeling her breath hitch as their faces were now inches apart.

"Girls, dinner!" Amanda called from downstairs. Zoe and Sam turned their heads toward the door from the sudden noise before awkwardly turning back to each other.

"I guess we should go down and eat..." Sam spoke up. Zoe nodded as Sam turned off the music and they left the room, giving each other awkward glances after their almost kiss.

"You know, last time these two were in the kitchen together I'm glad the steak knives weren't out," Amanda noted as both girls walked into the room, sitting in the chairs next to each other.

"I'll drink to that." Johnny tapped glasses with Amanda and Zoe's dad as they got settled to eat, Zoe grabbing a slice of pizza and some side salad.

"So, you run that dealership, right? How's that been?" Zoe's dad asked, starting up a conversation.

"Uh, the dealership's been the best it's been in years. It should practically be on autopilot by the time Sam takes over. Right?" Daniel asked her.

"Dad..." Sam tried to warn him with a smile.

"I mean, I knew you were interested in cars, but selling them? That's pretty cool." Zoe smiled at her, trying to ignore what had just happened upstairs.

"Well, I-" Sam tried to speak.

"Nah, it's just an inside joke. When Sam was a little girl, she used to walk around like she owned the place." Daniel explained. Zoe noticed the look on her face, seeing her uncomfortable expression. She tapped her foot with her own. Sam turned to see Zoe giving her a comforting smile.

"Well, can you blame her? She was practically raised on that showroom floor. Almost born on it too." Amanda subtly added.

"Hey, whatever Sam wants to do with her life, that's entirely up to her. If she decides to go to school nearby, get her MBA. USC, UCLA, I'm just saying... It's all icing on the cake." Sam stayed silent, Zoe wanting to comfort her more but the almost kiss halted her from doing so.

"So, Zoe. How's school going?" Amanda asked the girl.

"Pretty good. Coach is giving us all these tips on how to find good scholarships, so if I get a good one, I should be able to go to a nice college." Zoe informed them.

"You know what colleges you want to go to?" Daniel asked, taking a sip of his wine.

"I think any college would be great, I'm just trying to find some that might get me a good scholarship since college is way too expensive." She went on. Zoe was glad the attention wasn't on Sam anymore since she was uncomfortable talking about her plans, but now Zoe was making up hers on the spot.

"I like that. Not limiting your colleges." Daniel nodded.

"Ooh, I have an early morning shift tomorrow, we gotta go." Zoe's dad realized the time.

"Thank you so much for dinner! So sorry for leaving on such short notice!" Zoe told them quickly as they stood up and put their dishes together so it wasn't that big of a cleanup.

"Of course, we should do this again." Amanda smiled at the two, taking their dishes to the sink. Zoe waved goodbye, looking at Sam. She gave her an awkward smile, waving back.

"Dad, I did something crazy," Zoe told her father as they walked to the car.

"What? You kiss Sam?" He asked sarcastically.

"No, we almost kissed," Zoe told him.

"Took you long enough." Her dad told her. She looked at him in disbelief, smacking his shoulder as he laughed.
