I walked in and tossed my coat to the couch, ignoring the hideous way it rested in, and I'm sure it'll leave it wrinkled in some time. Hannah's signing from the kitchen made me smile.

Her voice was hideous too, like how the coat is resting but I can't tell her that.

"Why are you laughing? And why didn't you say anything when you came?"

"I wasn't laughing," I chucked even more. "And I was just going to walk into the kitchen."

"Oh, okay," she shrugged.

"How was your day?"

"William came by," she said, tasting  the spoonful of tomato sauce. "We talked."

My blood chilled at the mention of his name, and I couldn't resist to curse him out in my mind. "What did you talk about?"

"He talked about his ex-girlfriend and how obnoxious she was."

Pearl.

That fucking bastard.

"How obnoxious?" I asked, longing for an answer.

"He told me about how irritating it was sometimes when she ditched him for her job. How annoying it was for her to save money for god knows what reason..."

"I don't care," I found myself saying. "Let the people's relationships be theirs."

"Is there something wrong, Hunter ?"

"No." I only want to smash his head against the wall, break his nose, cut his fingers for my amusement, hang his head on the wall as African decoration, throw him in the middle of nowhere and make Pearl watch everything.

That'll certainly cool down my rage.
