(3rd person POV)

"I'm not hiding anything," Taehyung assured composedly, piercing the Major General with stern eyes to remind him of who out of the two was holding the most power. "I was protecting the earthling from the Yuldrian."

Stiffly, he stepped aside to reveal the trembling girl behind him, who looked at him with huge eyes filled with fear, a devastating cold, slimy feeling of betrayal winding around her chest, constricting her lungs to suffocate her. Why was the mesmerizing alien exposing her to the wrath of the Major General? Had his fear and worry for her only been short-lived? And now that she was safe, he wanted her to be stuck in her cell again like the powerless little prisoner she was?

The Major General screwed up his nose upon spotting her, glancing at the human in a disgusted manner before quickly averting his eyes to his commander, seemingly unable to stand the sight.

"What is that doing here?" he asked condescendingly.

Y/N's eyes fixated the ground, tears welling up in them, and she tried to shrink back, hoping the metallic walls would swallow her and make her disappear so that they wouldn't be able to see her anymore. The being she had once trusted with her whole heart was betraying her, extinguishing every little glimmer of hope.

Suddenly, she felt Taehyung taking her arm in a firm hold– though it wasn't strong enough to hurt her– making her flinch at how unexpected his touch was.

Silent enough that only she was able to hear it, he whispered: "Please trust me" to the panicked girl, the black fabric in front of his face hiding the movement of his lips from the Major General. At the warmth in his voice, Y/N instantly calmed down and felt relief washing over her, but she managed to hide it and proceeded to stare to the ground while the silver-eyed alien continued talking to the Major General.

"I was taking the Earthling to an experiment when suddenly the Yuldrian appeared in the corridor and tried to attack us. I defended myself and hid her behind me. If the Yuldrian managed to harm her, we would have to change our course to get another human," Taehyung stated calmly, nothing in his composed tone of voice revealing that his thumb was reassuringly caressing the girl's arm.

"Her?" the Major General asked and squinted his eyes in suspicion.

Taehyung wanted to throw himself into the vacuum of space for his faux-pas. If he wanted to convince the Major General that he wasn't doing anything unauthorized, he had to refer to Y/N as 'the Earthling'. Not degrading her to a submissive test object and using the pronoun 'her' instead gave away their prohibited relation!

"The earthling is female," he replied quickly, trying to cover up his mistake. "Thus, it's a 'her'."

"Uh-huh," the Major General made with furrowed eyebrows, not truly convinced though his little brain had a hard time grasping what was going on.

"Are there other escaped prisoners?" Taehyung asked to distract the subordinate from his mistake.

Luckily, it worked out.

"Several other prisoners escaped due to the technical error caused by the Yuldrians. Most of them were already taken back to their cells, though, Sir," the Major General answered, returning to his role as a subordinate.

"I expect you to make sure that every prisoner gets captured," Taehyung ordered with cold eyes, hoping to get finally rid of the irritating other.

The Major General nodded submissively and turned around to go, but suddenly he stopped after a few steps, making a wave of anger surge through Taehyung.

"What will happen to the Earthling?" The Major General pointed at Y/N, glancing at her disdainfully.

Taehyung had to muster all of his self-control not to shout at the disgusting creature in front of him, who should keep his fingers away from his human. He was close to swiping Y/N into a protective hug but luckily managed to stop himself from doing so, his hold on the mesmerizing girl's arm like an anchor to his chaotic feelings.

"I'll bring the Earthling to its room," he answered sternly, venom dripping from his voice.

The Major General visibly shrank before scurrying away hastily, afraid to provoke the Captain further. When he was finally out of sight, Taehyung's tensed shoulders relaxed, and he released his hold on Y/N's arm, even though his heart screamed for him not to pull away.

"What are you going to do?" she asked in wonder, the way she had to tilt her head back to gaze into his eyes making his heart beat like crazy. She still stood very close to him, and the proximity didn't help Taehyung to have clear thoughts, especially when she looked at him like that with those mesmerizing eyes, her infatuating scent coming off her in thick waves, delighting his senses and pleasantly hazing his mind.

He blinked a few times, needing a sharp mind to come up with a plan for the following steps before clearing his throat and looking at her determinedly.

"Now, we are going to escape without anyone noticing it," he answered, not allowing any doubt or fear to shine through in his unwavering voice.

(Your POV)

After revealing his goal to escape to you, he had taken your hand and tugged you carefully with him. Anxiety should have swallowed you– his plan was disconcertingly hazardous, after all– but at the very moment you felt his large hand holding your tiny one, instant comfort overcame you, the familiar touch calming you down significantly.

The infatuating alien was walking fast, his long muscular legs allowing him to stride through the corridors comfortably (and no, you were definitely not checking out his strong and beautiful legs– okay, maybe you were). You, on the other hand, had to put in all your effort to run as fast as you could to keep up with him. Tae seemingly noticed your misery, thankfully slowing his pace, allowing you to catch your breath.

"Where are we going?" you asked, panting from the exertion. All the time you had spent in your room hadn't offered any opportunity of movement to keep your physical condition at an acceptable level, and now you were painfully feeling the effects.

"Hangar," he replied distractedly, throwing around quick and wary glances while continuing to lead you through brightly enlightened corridors that looked exactly the same.

You decided to shut your mouth to save your breath because, despite the slower pace, exhaustion was threatening to overtake you. But just before you were able to ask if you could take a break from running through the endless corridors, the hallway opened into a gigantic hall, the sight making your jaw drop in amazement. It resembled a hangar of a science-fiction movie with the several sleek, metallic spaceships parked inside and an enormous opening in the wall opposite to you that revealed the almost pitch-black space, a few stars blinking weakly into the hall.

While the silver-eyed alien began to walk down a few metallic stairs to reach the floor of the hangar, you were still staring astonished, your mouth gaping wide open.

"Come," he called softly called out when he noticed that you were rooted on the spot, successfully snapping you out of your stupor, and you hasted to follow him down.

As soon as you arrived at the floor, he pulled you close to him, taking you under the cape of his clothes. Since you were rather small compared to him, his attempt to hide your body under the excessive amount of fabric of his uniform was promising.

Unable to control your bubbly feelings, you felt warmth blossoming in your cheeks, your heart skipping a beat at the close proximity.

'Not now!' you scolded yourself, determined to stay concentrated.

As you tried to distract yourself, you noticed that the silver-eyed alien that had mesmerized you since the first time you saw him purposely made slow steps, giving you the opportunity to keep up with him without running out of breath.

Out of curiosity, you carefully peeked out of the cape.

Inside the expansive hangar were many different creatures, working on the admirably high-tech spaceships, filling their tanks, repairing and cleaning them. Some of the spaceships were very small, smaller than a car, most likely only meant for a single person to fit in, while others were towering over you, as huge as a ten-floor building. Some of the spaceships were built very simply, looking like capsules, but the grand majority had extensive amounts of weapons fixed on them, cannons, guns, and other weaponry that looked so intimidating that you didn't even want to know what it was.

"Y/N, please hide. There are many other creatures in the hangar that could notice you," Tae whispered, and you immediately pulled your head right back under the coat, resuming to walk blindly through the hangar, fully trusting him that he would safely lead you. That close to his body, you were pleasantly surrounded by his comforting scent of rain, musk, and home, making you take deep breaths. The fear of getting caught that had been thrumming through you vanished to a mere afterthought, the mesmerizing alien's presence so soothing and calming that you couldn't help but feel completely secure and safe with him.
