Sooooo... on this particular day, words didn't want to come out of my brain and onto the page. But pictures did :D

This sketch is potentially something for SOTE or LB JK (both of which I should update, now that I think of it... But then again, I have to update practically everything. *sighs* Okay, I'll get to that...) Possible spoilers, so you were warned, but it's nothing really major.

Also, as you can probably see, I DID THE TEXT ON THE COMPUTER!! Which, btw, Soph_theScribe, I would have done that on the first page of your comic too, but I got the spaces for the text bubbles really smudged and it just would have been a really tedious job trying to cover the text up on the computer afterwards while keeping the coloring consistent. But here they were pristine and nice and required MINIMAL editing, so I thought, "Oh, what the heck. Your friends always say your handwriting's bad, so why not just do it on the computer this time."

The shading wasn't as horrible as some things I've drawn in the past, but I didn't really put much effort into it because I thought at first that this was just going to be a quick shot of their faces with Lux saying his line and cupping her face in his hands. I should really get it straight that my brain has a bad habit of taking random concepts and running with them, creating sketches that often span until I run out of page to draw on.

The shadowing and lighting were also good, but honestly too all over the place to make much sense unless Ahsoka and Lux were lit from several different directions. But I was just feeling really lazy and decided not to care, so yeah XD

But the softer lines on Ahsoka's lekku and montrals was a nice effect, and I liked the way the headband turned out too (as a hybrid of those from that post-TCW Ahsoka panel and SWR). The proportion was a little weird in places, but for the facial expressions, and just faces in general, Ahsoka's is AWESOME and I am SO happy with it. At first when I was drawing this, Lux's eye came out as more crazed than worried, but after a few takes, it's a little closer to what I imagined :)

Anyways, if you don't want any spoilers, then I'll leave you to speculate on what I've given you in this author's note (artist's note? Illustrator's note? Idk) already. But if you do, READ ON... *cues dramatic music*

Okay, so here's the story behind this. I imagine Ahsoka would be going off somewhere on her own in SOTE, either in Book 2 or 3, to get something dangerous done that Lux doesn't necessarily approve of. He's not exactly overprotective here (well he IS, but not a ton in this context), but he's just lost so many people close to him -- his mother, Steela, many of his other friends in the Rebellion -- that he can't bear the thought of losing someone else too. 

That's how it would make sense in SOTE. In LB JK, Lux is also worried about her safety, but his own self-discovery is more of a central element than making sure his slightly reckless fellow Padawan isn't about to do anything crazy. Come to think of it, this sketch is more parallel to SOTE than it is to LB JK, but it reminded me of the latter anyways. 

I could even picture which scene it would be from, although I won't say anymore on the subject here... Because, in the words of River Song, "Spoilers, sweetie."

Okay, so that's all I've got for you guys tonight. I probably have a ton of other sketches waiting for me to post, and I know FOR A FACT I have at least twelve pages' worth of stuff I need to update, but right now I've just got to jump in the shower and get to sleep. I'm actually getting out to see people tomorrow morning, so that means no staying up late and sleeping in till 11:30AM.
