EP.187|Of Gods and Mortals

Later that night, Serenity was awoken by the sound of tapping on her box. She rubbed her eyes to see Kuno pressing buttons on the box, mumbling something about “I”m gonna get killed by doing this,” and “why can't I just leave her alone? It be better if I did…”

Serenity grabbed her dagger from her side, “one step and I cut off your lips.”

Kuno back up a little, but a little part of him was practically purring at Serenity’s reaction. “Will you chill? I’m helping you!” Kuno pulled Serenity out of the box. “Get your hands off of me!” Serenity hissed.

“Do you want to get tortured, or do you want to leave?” Kuno wagered. “Leave…” Serenity muttered. “Good,” Kuno held her hand, a spark flowing through the both of them “follow me and let me do the talking.”

Kuno lead Serenity outside to see others of Araden subordinates, they were all staring at Serenity, some back flirtatious signs at her. Kuno growled at each and everyone of them.

“What are you staring at?!” Kuno growled deeper, holding Serenity closer. “Nothing sir!” the minions squeaked. “That’s what I thought,” Kuno walked into his room, closing the door.

“Take these,” Kuno threw her a robe and some towels, “go wash up and make sure you wash off your scent.”

“My scent?”

“Ocean breeze,” he passed her honey scented body wash, “use this honey one.”

“No way! I’m not rubbing off my ocean scent!” Serenity scolded, dropping the robe and towel. “Fine,” Kuno passed her some PJs “you’re sleeping here tonight.”

“No! Take me back to the box!” Serenity growled. “No,” Kuno pulled Serenity down onto the bed, Serenity struggled to get free, “just stay here.”

“But-”

“But nothing, just stay here alright, we’ll continue in the morning…” Kuno turned to his side, drifting to sleep. Once Serenity noticed this, she tried to sneak away but Kuno growled.

“Where are you going?” He raised his eyebrows. “What?” Serenity mouthed in shock, he didn't even open his eyes. “I can sense you,” Kuno grabbed her wrist, pulling her down into his arms “I told ya,” he leaned in, “you’re not leaving just yet~”

Freddie was worried, out of the ten of them only herself, CJ, and Ben hadn't been tortured yet. She’s seen what Araden done to them, Freddie knew she couldn't go through reliving her painful memories.

“He won't touch you,” Zeref whispered, biting her earlobe a little bit, “Ben’s healed everyone so if he tries anything on you, CJ, or Ben, we’ll back you up.”

His hands ran down her sides, marking out all her curves with his fingers. Freddie hummed, tilting her head back a little, giving Zeref access to her neck.

“You’re magnificent,” he whispered tenderly, his hot tounge finding the pulse point on her neck. Freddie moaned slightly, not wanting to be too loud she’d end up waking the VKs

“Zeref~” his hands went under her shirt, trying to find her bra, “please don't tease me, darling.” Zeref just smirked when his hands reached her breast, they were incredibly soft and bouncy.

“How do you not play with these all day?” he rhetorically asked, making Freddie chuckle. “You boys are mysterious, you’ve see my breast so many times, but now you’re acting like you’re seeing the fountain of youth or something.” Freddie giggled.

“Can ya blame me?” he gave them a soft squeeze, Freddie moaned, “if these things make you sound hot as fuck, you best believe I’m going to play with them.”

His fingertips messaged her breast, Freddie tried to stay quiet but Zeref knew her weak spots. A part of her felt kinda hoe-ish for being so loud, but another part of her didn't care. She wanted to scream his name so loud the gods above heard them.

He left one hand on her chest while the other tailed down to her thigh, feeling just how hot she was. “Zeref...wait,” he stopped all his movements and looked up at her.

“Something wrong?”

“No, it’s just, it’s been so long since we’ve had some alone time like this, I don't want to spend it inside a box where I might get tortured.” Freddie sweatdropped. “I guess you’re right,” Zeref laid down on her lap, enjoying the feeling of Freddie’s fingers combing through his hair.

Zeref smiled, something about her was just so irresistible. He couldn't couldn't believe he was her boyfriend. His lips bit her lip slightly, asking for an entrance that she seductively denied.

“Work for it,” she smirked, her hands trickling down his chest, “make me forget wanting to be with any other man.”

Before Zeref parade of love making onto her, Araden knocked on Freddie’s box, the young god growled sand got off Freddie, sighing in disappointment.

“Awe, don't look so sad, she’ll still scream your name,” Araden snapped his fingers, flashing Zeref into Ben’s box “for you to end her suffering.”

“No...please, she’s been through so much.”

Araden snarky chuckled, “cute,” his eyes focused on Freddie’s medalionion, “you still have the medallion,” he reached out for it, Freddie snatched it away from him.

“Hands off,” Freddie growled, shielding it from the demon “what gives you the right to even touch my medallion after everything you did to me, my family, my friends.”

“I’m gonna be the future king of this world,” Araden stood over her, Freddie just glared, he was really getting on her nerves.

Freddie scoffed and rolled her eyes, “please, the one and only king and queen I’ll respect is Ben and Mal.”

Ben smiled graciously at Freddie’s words. He always believed that the Villain inhabitants of the villain islands would never accept him as a king and there would never be peace.

But hearing Freddie say he respected him brought a certain warmth to his heart that Ben hasn't felt since he’s been in this box.

Araden eyes darted towards the young king, he scrunched up his fist, “that? That thing is who you want to rule!?”

“Hey!” Ben yelled, obviously offended. “It’s not like you wanted to be king anyways.” Zypher reminded him, Ben sighed and agreed.

“Yes!” Freddie stood her ground, “over the years, they’ve had some horrible leaders, and their rule reached over to the Villain Isles. The Hero Rulers put us villains in chains just to see us suffer.”

Everyone stood silent, not wanting to interrupt the tamiki user’s rant.

“But when we finally got freedom after the Hero and Villain war, villains saw the light for the first time in centuries. We were able to actually live, not a perfect life but it was our own.” Freddie’s held her hand to her heart.

“All the things I’ve seen, I’ve experienced, all the growth I’ve had is thanks to that man,” she pointed at Ben, “if it weren’t for him, I would have been either in jail or dead.”

“I was alone for so long but when Ben introduced me to everyone, I wasn’t afraid anymore, I knew I found the people I wanted to be in my life for its entirety,” she smiled at Zeref, the young god smiled back “if it weren’t for Ben, I would have never found my one true love.”

She gave an assuring look to the king, telling him she was gonna be okay. Ben nodded slightly, he trusted Feddie, and all the VKs, with his life.

“So you can beat mean, kill me, break my soul, call my every drgrating word in the book,” Freddie determinately stopped towards the demon until she was face to face with him, her nose inches away from his “but you will never be our king.”

Araden snapped, anger filling his eyes as he pinned Freddie to the wall, “oh Freddie,” his hands wrapped around her neck, “all that spunk and sassiness will eventually be your downfall.”

“My sassiness...makes me...who I am…”

“Who told ya that? Zeref?” Araden rolled his eyes, “well he lied, just like how he lied in the early stages of your relationship together.”

“Wh-what?” Freddie stuttered. “Oh, you didn't tell her about that night? The night of the Holy Being Feast?” Araden smirked smugly, Zeref stood quiet, “I’ll take that as a no.”

“Let me show you Shadow Girl,” Araden placed his fingers on her forehead, making Freddie’s eyes turning white, seeing the past she longed to live again.

Freddie curled up on Zeref’s chest, he watched as her chest rising and falling. It was the next morning after Freddie’s almost susicde, he was so worried that she would get hurt that he didn't let anyone near her except the VKs.

“My beautiful shadow princess, wake up my darling.” He whispered softly, Freddie rubbed her eyes. “I thought this was all a dream,” she kissed his lips, the taste of tropical fruit was still on her lips.

“If it’s a dream, I never want to wake up.” He flipped her so she could be under him, “my shadow princess, gods your just...amazing.”

He was about to plant another kiss on her but Freddie’s phone stopped it. Freddie giggled and answered the phone. “Hey dad,” Freddie greeted, Zeref sighed and moved over to his side, this was going to take a while “is something wrong?”

“No nothing, I was just wondering if you and that Zeref boy were going to this Holy Being Feast in olympus? Hades was telling me about it.” Facilier asked, spreading out cards on the voodoo table.

“I-I-I do-don't kn-know!” Freddie stammered, Facilier chuckled, “have you been talking? You two are cute together.”

“Dad!” She blushed madly. “You should ask him.” Facilier suggested. Freddie but her phone on mute, “you wanna go to this thing?”

“Is that how you ask me?” Zeref was fake shocked. Freddie rolled her eyes, “do gods need a whole promposal or something?”

“No,” Zeref got out of bed, “but I was gonna ask you.”

Freddie’s legs swung over the side of the bed, giggling as she watched Zeref rest his head on her lap. “Freddie Facilier,” he kissed her hands “will you be my date to the Holy Being Feast?”

“Yes! A hundred times yes!” Freddie cheered, hugging him tightly. “When is it?” she got up, walking to the bathroom. “Tonight,” he wrapped his arms around her.

“I need to find something to wear!” Freddie loosened from his arms, quickly getting dressed and rushing out the door, “I’ll see you tonight Zeref!”

After hours of shopping, Freddie finally found something but Zeref was still restless. He sat at the bar in Zeus’ grand mansion, he drummed his fingers on the empty scotch glass.

His eyes darted towards the doors every time it opened, hoping it would be Freddie who entered instead of some other god or goddess.

“Don't worry,” Hades lowered his hand on his son’s shoulder in an assuring fashion, “she’s going to show up. Just relax.”

“Yeah but what if my uncles don't like her? What if the other goddesses hate her?” Zeref finger drumming began frantic, Hades could tell he was nervous.

“Who gives a shit about them!” Hades stopped Zeref’s fingers, “as long as you and Freddie love each other, that’s all that matters.”

Zeref smiled softly, “thanks, I hope she shows up.”

“She said she would, didn't she?” Persephone asked, sipping red wine. “Yeah,” Zeref replied, looking up at his mom. “Then what’s there to worry about?” Persephone shrugged.

“Mom, did the other goddesses hate you when you first met them?” Zeref asked. Persephone nodded, “yep, especially Artemis, she thought I was trying to ruin her job.”

“How?”

“Because when she went hunting I sometimes stopped her.” Persephone chuckled nervously. “Don't forget the mirages.” Artemis chimed in, “I was hunting holograms of deer for a week.”

“Sad that it took you a week to figure out it was a hologram.” Persephone sighed. “Shut up, it looked real.” Artemis puffed up her cheeks “Zeref, where’s this girl you’ve been raving about?”

“Oh, she should be here by now.” Zeref looked around the room, trying to spot Freddie. When the doors opened, Zeref turned his head so fast he thought he’d get whiplash.

“Oh my gods…” Zeref was in awe as he watched Freddie gracefully walk in.

She wore a soft and stretchy velvet shapes this showstopping gown that features a darted bodice and V-neckline, supported by adjustable spaghetti straps.

Sexy open back (with top button closure) carries into a full, figure-skimming maxi skirt with a mermaid hem with a hidden back zipper/clasp.

“She’s...beautiful…” Zeref watched as his girlfriend walked closer and closer “oh my gods and goddesses! Oh my gods what do I do?!”

“Zeref?” Her voice brought quick attention to the young god. “How do I look?”

“Hmmshuejndjshh…” Zeref stammered for words. Hades sighed and shook his head, Persephone and Artemis couldn't help but laugh.

“Uh, I don't think that’s an answer.” Freddie sweatdropped. “He’s trying to say you look beautiful.” Artemis translated. “You can understand that?” Freddie tilted her head slightly.

“Mortals sleep talk in their sleep a lot.” Artemis chuckled, shaking Freddie’s hand, “I’m Artemis, goddess of the night and the hunt.”

Freddie bowed, Artemis laughed, “no need for that darling, we’re a lot like you mortals.”

“O-Oh…” Freddie muttered. “Artemis!” Her brother called, waving her over.

“Persephone, it’s nice to see you again.” Freddie hugged the goddess. “I’m glad you’re here my darling, me and Hades are going to dance, come join when you’re ready.”

Zeref couldn't help but stare at Freddie “Zeref? Hello?” Freddie came in closer. “You’re beautiful.” Zeref blushed. Freddie smiled and kissed his lips.

“Me and Operetta spent the entire day at the mall.” she sat on his lap. Zeref didn't know if it was because of the feast or just Freddie but he was starving, not just for food, but for her.

His fingers ran down her dress, sending shivers down her spine. Freddie purred at his movements, “Zeref, it’s not polite to do such a thing in front of the higher beings.”

Zeref gumbled, he could feel someone’s eyes on his back.

“I don't like that Freddie,” Zeus and Thalia growled. “Stop it, she’s sweet and respectful,” Hera smacked her daughter and her husband behind the heads.

“You’re just mad because she’s a human, and Thalia’s mad because Zeref’s her ex.” Hera scolded. “But mom! Zeref’s mine!” Thalia whined. “No he isn't, he’s happy with Freddie,” Hera smiled, watching as the young god and his mortal girlfriend danced the night away.

“How could you possibly be okay with this Hera?! She’s a mortal.” Zeus reminded her. “So? Who cares! Look how happy your nephew is,” Hera motioned towards Zeref to see him laughing along with Freddie “I’ve never seen him so happy.”

“Zeref,” she wrapped his arms around Zeref neck, lovingly “I can't believe I’m here with you.”

“Well believe it darling,” Zeref kissed her lips softly, “and at the end of the night, if you up for it,” he leaned in “will you be willing to take this to the next level?”

“U-Uh...Zeref, what if you don't like what’s underneath?”

“That’s impossible, you’re my girlfriend, I love you no matter what you do or don't have one.” Zeref kissed her lips.

“But I’ve never done that with a person before…”

“Then I’ll be gentle,” his fingers traced her skin, “if it hurts then we’ll stop.”

“P-Prom-Promise?”

“Promise, my shadow princess.” Zeref smiled as they continued dancing.

“I’m going over there to talk to them.” Zeus and Thalia marched over. “Zeref!” Thalia cheered, Zeref sighed and rolled his eyes.

“Thalia...so nice to see you again…” Zeref groaned softly. Thalia moved Freddie, wrapping her arms Zeref. “Who’s this darling?” Thalia sweetly asked.

“This is Freddie,” Zeref slithered out of her arms, “my girlfriend.”

“Oh,” Thalia giggled, “come on darling, you didn't have to find some little skank to replace your beautiful goddess.”

“Sk-skank?!”

“You didn't know? Zeref mostly likely been using you to suffice his needs he has for his goddess.” Zeus smirked, Zeref growled.

Freddie began to tear up, “I thought you loved me…?”

“I do Freddie,” Zeref held her hands “I love you more than life itself.”

“N-No yo-you don't!” Freddie began to tear up. “I need to go home!” Freddie ran out of the mansion, leaving a trail of tears behind her.

“What’s wrong with you!” Zeref scolded at Thalia and Zeus, running off for Freddie. Zeref found Freddie in the garden crying. “I knew it...I knew this was too good…”

“Freddie?”

“Get away from me Zeref!”

“Freddie,” Zeref grabbed her hand, “you’re my one and only.”

“No I’m not! You and Thalia obviously still love each other.” Freddie wiped her tears. “No, I don't! I have zero connection to that woman.” Zeref tried to reach out for her but Freddie moved away.

“Oh please, I saw the way she looked at you Zeref, she still loves you,” Freddie turned her back on him, “at least Thalia isn't a mortal…”

“Is that’s what this is all about?” Zeref tiptoed closer, “are you sad because you’re not a goddess like Thalia is?”

Freddie nodded sadly, “Freddie,” he gripped her shoulder slightly, Freddie looked up at him, “I don't want a goddess,” he kissed her cheeks, “I want you.”

“But what about you family?”

“Who gives a shit about them!” Zeref laughed, “my mother and father both love you, Pain and Panic practically adore and worship you, and if my little sister Lycia was here, she’d love you too.”

Freddie sniffled, “Zeref,” she whispered, the god listened well to hear her, “I’m not a goddess, deity, or some higher being, but I’ll show you,” her arms wrapped behind his neck lovingly “just how much fun mortals can be.”

Once Freddie came back into reality, she found it hard to breathe. Her body was pressed to the floor, Araden’s foot on her back. “Where’s all that back mouth now, huh, Freddie?” Araden snarky teased.

“Say it!” Araden scolded. “No! You’re not my king!” Freddie screamed in pain as Araden dug his heels into her spine.

“Say it! You mortals are just weak little mice!” Araden cackled, kicked the young tamiki user into the hard wall. “Shut up…” Freddie wiped the blood off her lips, “you...hypocrite…”

“Excuse me?!”

“You’re calling us weak,” Freddie stumbled to her feet, “but you’re the one...who’s weak!”

“You’ve lost your mind, I’m stronger than anything.” Araden sighed, shaking his head.

“Sure, in physical strength,” Freddie approached him, “but what about your heart?”

Araden hesitated to reply, Freddie smirked, “when was the last time you felt love in your heart? How about compassion? The touch of a lover? Any of those ring a bell?”

Araden stammered for a comeback, “exactly, it’s been ages hasn't it? All of this anger you have inside of you is because of the blackness in you heart.”

Araden eyebrows frowned, “you don't understand…”

“We do,” Freddie put her hand on his heart, “but I can't help you, only she can,” Araden knew she was referring to Nadia.

“And once you learn that true love use “mortals” share,” Freddie glared at him, one filled with determination and power “then, you’ll know what it is to be a true king.”
