Running through the door, Lily smiled wildly as she saw James leaning against the kitchen surface eating a bowl of what seemed to be grapes.

"Why do you look like a Cheshire cat?" He asked, talking with his mouth full, as Lily looked at him slightly in disgust. "Okay one," she said holding up a finger, "you're disgusting. And two, I got you a date." She squealed, as James's mouth fell open.

"With who?" He asked with one eyebrow raised, making Lily smile even more. "Oh you know, just your ultimate crush. Monica Geller." She told him as he ran up to her and spun her around in delight, thankful for his best friend. "You're not joking with me are you?" He asked chuckling, Lily rolled her eyes. "Would I ever do that to you?"

Excited about the news given to him, James couldn't stop smiling, he then gave Lily a questioningly look. "That's not it is it? There's more, spill ginger." Lily huffed, knowing she could get nothing past the man who knew her so deeply. She swallowed deeply, "Chandler asked me out on a date." She told him as James raised an eyebrow,

"Chandler? Bing? As in Charlie's dad?" He asked as Lily rolled her eyes and replied sarcastically, "no the Chandler that works the supermarket, yes Charlie's father who else?"

"And you said?" He asked, already knowing the answer due to the look of his best friend's face. "Wait don't tell me," he held up his hand. "You said yes," he told her and she nodded her head, smiling slightly. Unexpectedly, James went up to his friend and hugged her softly. "I'm happy for you," he told her.

Lily pulled back, surprised at her friend's reaction to the news. "Really?" She asked as James chuckled shaking his head at his friend.

"Lily, you miss him, I see it every day, I have since the day I turned up at your door while you were pregnant. This will be good for you, for you both. I know that if this turns out right for you, you're gonna be happy because you deserve it so so much. You look after that little girl everyday and she's the most important thing to you, you deserve to be the most important person in someone else's life, and I can tell that you already are in Chandler's." Hearing this Lily tears up at the support her friend was giving her, hugging him back tightly, "thank you," she whispered and James chuckled and hugged her back.

James pulled back, holding Lily's shoulders and smiling. "Right, sort yourself out, us Brits gotta hold ourselves together." Lily shook her head and wiped her eyes, "shut up Jamie." The two laughed, both enjoying the friendship that was present.

"There's something else I need to talk to you about Lil," James told her as he sat down on the couch. Lily raised an eyebrow, "what about?" She asked as she also sat down next to James.

James sighed, "Lily your parents want you to go home, I got a phone call earlier on, they're desperate for you to go home Lily, they want to meet Charlie and see you again." Upon hearing this news Lily sighed, knowing that sooner or later, she knew her parents would ring and ask her to come home.

"My life is here, it always has been and always will be, as much as I love London, I don't belong there James." She rubbed her head, knowing that even though she wouldn't want to, she would have to talk to her parents somehow about it. "Trust me, Lil, if it was up to me, we'd stay in New York for the rest of our lives. But you've had a life in London, and you need to face it, you can't just block people out."

"I know," she smiled, knowing her next thing to do would be to ring her parents, knowing that she would certainly not enjoy the conversation they would be having.
