I knocked on the door of the large Victorian style house, waiting for someone to open it.

A few minutes passed, and there was no answer. I tried again. I turned around, rubbing my shoulders. It was cold.

"Hello?" I heard behind me.

I spun around quickly, seeing a man. He was tall, with black hair, and a lot of tattoos.

"H-hi. I'm s-sorry to bother you, but m-my car broke down about a m-mile or so d-down the highway." I said.

He looked around outside, and stepped out of the way. "Come in."

"Th-thank you." I said, walking inside.

He motioned for me to follow him, and I did. He led me into what I assumed was a living room, and told me to sit down.

"There's no towing companies around here, so why don't you just sit here for a little while and warm up. I'll figure something out."

I nodded. "Okay. Thank you." I told him, as he left the room.

He came back a few minutes later with a blanket and a cup.

"Here. It's tea."

"Oh. Thank you. Y-you didn't have to do that."

He shook his head, giving a small smile. "It's no problem. It's cold out, and you've just walked a mile."

I smiled. "Thank you. By the way, I'm-"

"Ryan. I know." He spoke. "Chris."

How did he know? I've never told him. That's weird. What the fuck?

"H-how did you know my name?" I asked, but he was gone.

I frowned, taking a small sip of the tea.

So, he was Chris. And Chris knew who I was. Why did Chris know who I was? I've never seen Chris before...have I?

I pulled the blanket over my legs. He's very nice. I don't know how he knows my name, but I like him. He's hot too.

I took a sip of the tea. It tasted like green tea.

"What kind of car is yours?" I choked on the tea, not expecting him to be there. He likes to pop up out of no where, I've noticed.

"Um, it's a black Ford pickup truck." I told him.

He nodded. "I'm going to send a friend of mine to get it for you. You can stay here for the night, because he won't be able to go until morning. It's raining too hard.m" He told me. "If you don't mind my asking, what were you doing out here? Very few people live out here."

"I was going home from my friend's house, but I decided I just wanted to go for a drive, and I ended up here."

He nodded. "Be more careful next time."

"I will." I said. "Um...h-how did you know my name before?"

He handed me my drivers license. "You dropped this."

"O-oh. Thank you."

He smiled. "Are you hungry?"

Come to think of it, yeah I was. I didn't eat anything at Ricky's, so the last meal I had was lunch.

"Yeah, please, if it's not too much of a problem."

"It's not a problem at all. I'll be right back." He spoke, leaving the room.

I shivered a bit, still cold. I held the tea in both hands, trying to keep warm. He was nice. I like him.

"How does soup sound?"

"Stop doing that!" I yelled.

He looked taken aback. "What did I do?"

"I-I'm sorry. I'm tired, and you keep scaring me. You just keep popping up and I never hear you coming and I'm sorry for yelling. You seem really nice and kind and I feel bad and-" I rambled.

He shook his head. "It's alright. My friends always yell at me for that. I can't really help it." He smiled. "So, soup?"

I nodded. I really did feel bad. I didn't mean to yell at him. He just keeps scaring me. I really do like him. He's such a nice person. He let me into his house, he made me tea, he gave me a blanket. I love blankets. He's making me food. He's letting me stay. I felt horrible. He looked surprised, as if he didn't expect that from me. I mean, I normally don't yell at people, and I hadn't meant to, he just scared me.

I pulled my knees up to my chest, resting the cup of tea on top of my legs. I felt bad. He's probably mad at me now.

I looked up at him, as he sat down next to me. He held two bowls of what looked like tomato soup. He took the tea from my hands, setting it on the coffee table in front of us. He handed me the bowl.

"Thank you." I said. "I'm sorry for yelling."

"You're welcome." He told me. "And it's fine. I kind of expected it."

"Are you sure? I always feel bad when I yell at people."

"I'm sure." He smiled. He picked up the tv remote off the table, handing it to me. "Here. I have to go do stuff, but make yourself comfortable."

I smiled back. "Thank you for helping me."

"It's no problem." He spoke, leaving the room.

I took a small bite of the soup, pushing the button that turned the tv on. It tasted good. I started flipping through channels, trying to find something good to watch. After a few minutes, I settled on "The Office." It was a funny show.

----

I'm not sure how much time passed, but I was now dozing off on the couch. I had placed the almost empty soup bowl on the table, shut the tv off, and curled up on the couch. I pulled my knees up to my chest, pulling the blanket tighter.

I closed my eyes, letting myself fall into a deep sleep. He was nice to let me stay here.

-------

Yeah.
