────── ROY DRYSDALE

"How's your relationship with your parents?" Elliot asked.

"Oh - good. I was the first son, so I was their first rodeo, but I think I turned out pretty good," he boasted.

"And your relationship with Harlan?" Blanc asked, chasing Elliot to lean back and let him run the interview.

"Oh... Well, because I was my parents' first son, they brought me around here a lot so I could get used to grandad and all, but I was pretty rebellious as a kid and was a brat with him. Ransom was the sweet kid. Grandad adored him," Roy added.

"And?"

"And what? Ransom's a dick now. Something clearly went wrong with him, but I guess if you're sweet as a kid, you turn out rotten. I was rotten as a kid and now I'm amazing. He honestly drew the short stick." Roy chuckled.

"What about your relationship with Raven?" Blanc asked.

"Raven? I love her. She's a great woman. I'm glad I met her," he responded.

"How did you meet?"

"She was working at the publishing company in the section where I - you know - overlooked. She was a runner, which is like a personal assistant to everyone. I ran into her one day when she was running around the office and that's how we met."

"How long have you been engaged?"

"Only recently," he answered.

Elliot nodded. "How was the birthday party?"

"Great. It was nice to let a little loose around family. Usually, I'm so busy with press and events. It gets a little much, but Raven is always there to make me feel better."

"Good wife," murmured Blanc.

"Oh, she will be," Roy affirmed, smiling.

Blanc nodded, leaning forward to place his elbows on his knees. "Glad to hear."
