"What are you doing up here?"

Draco spun around, swiping at the tears on his cheeks as he turned to glare at you, but once he saw it was only you, one of the Lovegood twins, he relaxed and determined to ignore you instead. You approached him and stood at his right beside the Vanishing Cabinet, scanning the tall black cabinet up and down with mild curiosity.

"You're not too bad a person, you know."

No response.

"Quite a few people say you are, but I don't mind them. The way I see it is that we wouldn't be able to see the stars without the darkness. You'll be one of the stars one day, you're just having trouble escaping the night."

He abruptly reached his hand to hold yours, his grasp firm, and you knew with kind satisfaction that your words had truly touched him.
