Shivaay packed all his things and was ready to leave. But since annika was seen nowhere in the house , he thought to wait for sometime until she returns .

P - she knows that we're leaving in the morning right ? Where did she go ? We're getting late for our flight .

R - maybe she went for work , yesterday she

G - no actually I saw bhabi leaving. She said she isn't going any far and she'll be back soon .

Shivaay turned a bit confused and thought of calling her .

He walked back to their room on hearing her mobile ringtone . The mobile for found kept on the dressing table.

S - where did she leave in such a hurry ?

Ad -  I really don't know what to do annika . Everything was so perfect , charu and me ! We ...we were together after so many years and suddnely aisa ...

Adi couldn't speak further , he just pressed his lips tightly and looked away . Annika seemed to be immersed in deep thoughts all this time , then ,she chose to speak .

A- Adi is this really something you can't take ?

Adi frowned at her confusedly .

A - I mean , if charu really has complications , will you leave her because she can't have a child ?

Adi took a deep gulp and looked hurt.  He wet his lips and turned everywhere to avoid his week reaction from falling on her sight .

Ad - you really think I would do that ? Annika I didn't see charu yesterday and propose her today , I lived my entire childhood , almost all my life with her . And I want to continue it throughout , bacha ye sab everything comes after her . How can you think like that annika ?

Annika felt guilty for asking him that . She immediately held his hand which he had placed on the table.

A- I'm sorry yaar , I was worried for her and pata nahi kya boldhiya meine . Sorry .

She pleaded and he just blinked .

Ad - I'm scared of what our parents will do if they come to know this . Especially my dad ...no way , I would never let him know .

Annika noticed his horror stricken reaction when he said that .

A - why is that ?

Ad -  I know him , he ...he won't...! What if he blames charu and  cancels our wedding ? And if charu comes to know this , she will definitely not agree for this marriage. Vo khud ko blame karegi.  Annika,  please help me . We , we will tell this to none ,not our parents , not charu and ...not shivaay .

She immediately looked up when he insisted shivaay's name .

A- but Adi,  shivaay

Ad -  because  shivaay might tell charu !

A - but I can

Ad - I don't want any problem in this annika . Already charu and I have had enough  in the past,  I can't stand any trouble in our relationship , please !! Promise me .

Annika realized how much he was afraid of loosing charu , which made him act this impulsively. But she didn't know whether she'd be able to hide things from shivaay . She thought for a few seconds . As for she knows , shivaay is a practical man . He would not agree to hide this from charu . Because things might really become more ugly if they hide it , shivaay wouldn't agree , she knew . But at the same time, Adi's worry is also something to be considered.  She completely surrendered to this dilemma.

Ad - annika , promise that you're with me in this.

She couldn't actually stand the pain his eyes carried . Her reactions automatically changed soft . She tightened her grip on his hand before whispering.

A- promise.

Still being caught up with some deep thoughts , she made a very slow entry inside the house with her sight wavering here and there in tension .Suddenly Rudra jumped from nowhere and stood infront of her.

R - finally,  bhabi why did you do this ? Baiya was so not ready to leave before meeting you , pata hai ?

A- l...leave where ?

She stammered a bit in confusion for Rudra held her and shook her shoulders to bring her back .

R - bhabi , baiya left to Goa ! You know that he's  leaving today right ?

Annika was totally shocked after realizing that she had totally forgot about this .

A - leave matlab , ch ... chala gaya ?

R - come with me .

A - but shivaay ,

R - come bhabi.

She caught her wrist and pulled her along.

Shivaay's face flourished with joy when he saw annika approaching him at the airport while she on the other side was  equally happy on finding him there .

R - baiya's order , done !

Rudra pretended to make a bow before shivaay who just chuckled in response and looked at his wife .  Thank God ! He really hoped that she would somehow make it to the airport .

She looked a bit different today and he noticed it in her eyes . She was sad .

A - bad prince !

She complained , making an innocent pout.

S - the pilot is not my great grandfather and he won't be wait for me .

Annika chuckled lightly on reminiscing how she had said the same once about the driver during their bus travel.

She still looked upset with her head bent down , facing the ground. Shivaay  smiled leaving a huge sigh before bending down to witness her face .

S - I can't find my talkative wife , can you fetch her for me please ?

Annika looked pissed off .

A - didn't you find any other place in here for your business ? Goa !! Do hell with goa ! Aur pata nahi , why this fracture healed so soon . I would have atleast got an extension period if

S - shhh.  Just asked you to fetch her and lo , shuru hogaya tum. Remember,  your hand is still not completely fine . So don't stress yourself , ok ? Use the car to travel and be at home by time .

She just kept nodding continuously and fidgeted with something in her hand . Then , she noticed pinky there .

P - don't worry,  I'll take of your husband well .

Annika just smiled and looked at him again .

Soon there was an announcement made for the passengers to start their boarding process . That's when shivaay felt something and looked down to find her fidgeting with the sleeve end of his shirt . She behaved to have heard nothing about the announcement.  He couldn't just hold himslef after that , and he immediately pulled her into a warm hug .

She comforted her head on his shoulder and hid her face into it while he caressed her hair softly .

S - where were you haan ? Phone bi ghar pe chod diya .

A - I went to meet Adi .

He was disturbed with the way she sounded. 

S - is everything ok  ?

She remained quite .

S - annika

A - yeah , kuch nahi.

Saying this , she leaned more on him for he readily accepted and comforted her . Maybe she was sad because of his departure , he thought

She pulled back on hearing the announcement which was made once again .

S  - oreo was so eager to come with me you know ? but I asked him to be with you .

A- cheater cock oreo !

Shivaay smiled shaking his head when she spoke those words with that strong glare in her eyes .

P - take care annika .

Pinky hugged her and annika reciprocated back.

A - you too aunty .

As soon as she saw him taking the trolley,  she pulled back and watched him in keen . Pinky already made her way , while shivaay stood stiff , taking a moment to hold annika's hand .

S - don't be stingy and make only one call a day .

A - don't be too busy to pick my multiple calls a day .

Both chuckled after making these comments .

He then muttered a bye and walked behind pinky  , not before pressing a yearning kiss on her pink palm.

Annika stood there , waving him bye until he moved off and left her sight . Her eyes started glistening already . It's going to be tough without him , she knew.

Annika wanted to consult with an experienced gynaecologist whom she had known for years , regarding charu's condition . So she had asked Adi to send her the reports which he did . She went to that hospital .

' annika , this case is really sensitive.  I went through the report,  but '

A- but ?

' All I can say is , there are treatments which can help '

Her face had a small hint of smile  which immediately faded on hearing the Dr's next few words .

' But I can't guarantee you a 100 percent success in it , chances are very less . I'm sorry '

A - I...you are the best Dr in this field I've ever known , and I thought...you would have a way to somehow....but...

Annika looked away and shook her head sadly . How can something like this happen to her sister ? Her pain worsened .

' I wish I could help you annika , but still, we can proceed with the treatment and then .'

Annika could no longer hold , she excused herself .

A - sorry Doctor,  I...I'll visit you later.

She immediately got up and left the room in a hurry .

Someone who knew annika , just came by and noticed her there . He tried to approach her but she looked tensed and not in the state of speaking to anyone. So he held back . At the same time the Doctor came out from her cabin and saw that person .

' Ohh Sir , welcome! It's been many years  since we've met. How are you sir ?'

' Yes Doctor I'm good , isn't that annika ?'

He pointed at annika who was seated there with her hands on forehead .

' yes sir , you know her ?'

'She doesn't seem well , what happened to her ?'

The doctor hesitated for a minute feeling which the man spoke again .

' don't worry , I know her family really well . You can tell me . '

Then , the doctor just briefly told him that she had come for the consultation considering the particular problem . And he seemed truly shocked and worried after listening to what the Doctor said . Suddnely the Doctor's mobile started ringing , that noise diverted annika who was seated there on the row of chairs . She looked by that side only to get a  greatest shock.

' excuse me '

The doctor excused herself and walked back to her cabin .

Here ,annika looked stunned and terror stricken after witnessing Adi's father  there . She gulped and took slow steps near him .

A - Dhruv uncle , aap ...yahan ...

D- I'm a trustee of this hospital,  infact I'm also  one of the board members here .

Annika didn't know how to even react , she stood still . He clearly noticed her state and placed his hand on her shoulder to calm her down .

D - annika , I just spoke to the doctor . She told me everything .

That's it . Annika felt a thunder shock in her mind and heart stricking all at once .  Did the doctor tell everything about charu's condition ?!! She felt terrified but concealed it from him .

D - I'm really sorry this happened to you . For a cheerful girl like you ...aisa , I'm sorry . But don't worry annika , have faith and go for the treatments . I'm sure they'll help .

These words from him just made one thing clear . He thinks she is the one . Maybe the doctor just spoke about the medical condition and he already assumed the person  to be her , she thought and gulped in relief. 

' what if he blames charu and cancels the wedding ?!  '

She remembered Adi's words .

Several thoughts crossed her mind within those few seconds,  and finally she decided to do one thing .

Silence . She chose silence and decided to just go with what he presumed.

No lie , no truth,  just silence.

For charu , she said to herself.

Love is such a simple , beautiful word . If only being in love were that easy 💘
