Chapter seven
Tom Riddle and the Basilisk
Third person POV:
The teachers at Hogwarts were on edge, knowing their school was no longer safe. Goldie March was the last student to be petrified and now there was another message written in blood on the walls of the school. Harry and Ron had managed to figure out a few things on their own. They knew they needed to find the chamber of secrets. Harry figured out Alta Fox was the one who had been taken into the chamber of secrets. He didn't know why. Ginny Weasley had been taken as well. Ron was infuriated. That was his little sister so he told Harry he'd accompany him. "Are you guys going to the chamber of secrets?" Yelena asked Harry. Ron gulped as he stared at her, how tall she was. "Yes. Why?" Harry said. "Alta. I need to be the one to save her." Harry nodded and allowed her to come with him and Ron. Ron hadn't told his older brothers he'd be following Harry into dangerous territory. He had noticed a change in Fred. A boy who was usually happy and always in a good mood was now gloomy and barely spoke. George mimicked his brother's actions, the two of them being almost monotone. Professor Lockheart was attempting to flee from the school after he said he'd defeat the basilisk. Harry and Ron made sure he didn't. With Yelena's help. The four of them ventured down into the chamber of secrets. Ron and Harry ended up getting separated. He was left with Yelena who he barely knew. "Come on, kid. Let's find them." Harry followed behind her. Harry gasped as he saw Ginny and Alta laying on the floor next to one another. "Ginny." Harry said as he shook her softly. Yelena knelt down and said "Alta?" "They won't wake. Only I can do that." A voice said. Harry and Yelena looked up to see where the voice was coming from. "Tom Riddle." Harry said. The dark haired boy nodded at him. Yelena furrowed her eyebrows and said "who's he?" "I'm Tom Riddle. I'm the one behind most of the things that have happened this year at Hogwarts. Ginny was the first. She managed to get my diary but quickly disposed of it. Then Alta found it. Alta was the perfect candidate. She became best friends with a muggle born student! Amazing. Muggle borns are the pure filth of Hogwarts. They don't deserve to be at this school. They shouldn't even be allowed in. Unfortunately, Dumbledore believes they should be. Ginny wrote the messages on the wall while Alta did everything else. The two of them tried to stop me. As you can see, they failed miserably. Now, they'll both die. The diary is draining their life force. And there's nothing you can do about it." Harry stared at Tom in shock. He knew he had to save Ginny and Alta. He didn't know Alta that well but he knew Ginny quite well. She was his best friend's sister after all. Yelena on the other hand stood up. Tom tried to hide his shock at how tall she was but failed. "Let them go or you'll face the consequences." She said. Tom chuckled and said "they're already dead. Might as well accept it." Harry absolutely refused, not understanding why Tom would do something like this. Tom quickly revealed himself to be Voldemort. Harry's eyes widened and Yelena said "Harry, we have to stop him." Harry nodded and Tom proceeded to call the basilisk. The basilisk slithered out of it's hiding place, staring down at Harry and Yelena. Tom smirked as he knew they would quickly meet their demise. The two of them split up. The basilisk went after Harry who started running. Yelena went after Tom. She swung at him, he dodged her. She tried to hex him and he blocked it. "Surely, you can do better than that." Yelena tried to hex him once again. "You're firey for a Ravenclaw. You would've excelled in Slytherin." Tom said. Yelena glared at him and said "maybe so. Slytherin's are bullies. And even though there are some good hearted people in Slytherin, the majority of you are bullies." The basilisk came towards them, chasing after Harry. Yelena moved out of the way, Tom doing the same. Yelena looked up and watched Harry climb the large statue inside the room. Tom leaned down to Alta's level, stroking her cheek softly. Yelena went to grab him but he stopped her. "Give it up." He said as he stood up. "Don't you touch her." Yelena said as she grabbed his robe with her other hand. Tom looked to his left at her hand. "What're you going to do?" His tone was condescending. Yelena smirked as she brought her knee to his groin. He doubled over in pain and Harry had the sword of Gryffindor in his hand. He stabbed the basilisk, killing it. Tom looked over and said "no!" Harry removed the blood covered sword from the basilisk's head. He pulled out a fang from his arm, panting. Yelena gasped softly as she knew that was instant death. Harry was to die. "Promise me, you'll get them out of here." Harry said to Yelena. She took a breath and nodded, promising him that she would. Tom had regained himself and said "you'll do nothing of the sort. You will die." He aimed his wand at Yelena who aimed his wand at him, ready to block whatever he was going to cast. Harry looked down at the diary, raising the basilisk fang. "No!" Tom screamed as Harry stabbed the diary. Tom Riddle began to disappear as Harry continued to stab the diary. A bright light ensued and he exploded. Yelena looked at Harry who was gripping his arm. "We have to get you out of here." She said. Harry shook his head and said "no. Save Ginny and Alta." Alta gasped for air as she awoke. Ginny sat up slowly and Harry made his way over to her. "Harry, you're hurt." She said. Alta looked around and then saw Yelena. "Yelena?" Alta asked. Yelena knelt down and said "I came to save you." "Where is he? Where's Tom?" Alta looked around frantically and Harry said "he's gone. I destroyed him." Ginny shuddered and said "Harry, he made us do those things. We didn't want to." Alta nodded and said "I never wanted to hurt anyone. I let my own best friend get petrified." Harry groaned as he felt the pain spread through his body. Ginny looked at his arm and said "Harry..." "Ginny, go with Yelena. She'll get you both out of here." Fawkes the Phoenix flew over, landing on Harry's arm. A single tear fell from his eye, Harry's wound disappearing. "Phoenix's have healing powers!" Harry said. "Does that mean you're ok?" Ginny asked. Harry nodded and Yelena helped Alta to her feet. Harry stood up and pulled Ginny up. The four of them made their way back to Ron and Professor Lockheart. Fawkes flew them out of the chamber of secrets. Everything was then explained to Dumbledore. Ginny and Alta were not in trouble for their actions as they were manipulated. Harry and Yelena however were honored for their courage to venture into the chamber of secrets. The Weasley clan was more than happy to see their sister alive and well. Percy hugged his sister, holding her tightly. Fred and George then did the same. As Ginny pulled away from Fred she couldn't help but notice him frown. He had tried to hide it but Ginny saw it. "I never wanted to hurt, Goldie." She said to Fred. Fred knew his sister meant no harm as it wasn't her fault. "I know. It's not your fault, Gin." Fred replied. "She'll wake up. They all will. Professor Sprout is working on a cure from the mandrakes." Fred nodded and said "that's good." His tone wasn't as happy as Ginny expected. George sighed deeply and Fred's eyes went to the floor. Ron hugged Ginny and she was distracted away from her twin brothers. When she turned to face them again, they had already disappeared. Ginny sat down on a couch in the common room, everyone asking her questions. Yelena and Alta hadn't parted since the chamber. Alta was sitting next to Goldie's bed, feeling horrible. "Goldie, I'm sorry. Please forgive me. I never wanted this to happen. I didn't want to hurt you." Yelena put a hand on her shoulder and said "it's not your fault. She'll understand when she wakes up." "I'm sure Fred hates me." Alta said as she tried not to cry. "I don't hate you." Fred said as he approached the bed. Yelena stood next to Alta protectively. Fred's shoulders slumped and he stared at Goldie. "Ginny explained what happened to the two of you. As much as I want to be mad at you, I can't. It's not your fault. You didn't intentionally want to hurt Goldie. She's your friend too. I should've been there. This wouldn't of happened if I was with her." Fred sat down, holding in his tears. He wanted to break down right then and there at the sight of Goldie. But he kept his composure. Fred refused to cry in front of anyone. And he definitely was not going to cry in front of two girls, one of them happening to be Yelena. He knew he'd get teased for the remainder of his time at Hogwarts. Alta could tell all he wanted to do was cry. "Fred, this isn't your fault. It's mine. I'm sure Goldie knows you wanted to protect her. She's going to hate me when she finds out I'm the one who did this to her." Fred shook his head at Alta. "You're her best friend. She'll understand. She won't think any less of you." Alta half smiled at Fred who did the same. Now they just had to wait on the cure to be finished.

I usually don't write chapters like this but I think this was the best way to write this chapter. And I know it's not super accurate but like I said before I'm trying to move this story along. And in the upcoming chapters there will be smut and sexual content. Please don't report my book when that time comes. I know that Wattpad is cracking down on that stuff and I'd appreciate it if you guys don't do that. If you don't like sexual content you can simply skip the section or chapter. Whatever works for you
