₊❏❜ ⋮ ⌒ THEY KNEW ... getting Lincoln out of arkadia wouldn't be easy. That's why the heroes had sat down with Miller and Harper who were more than happy to tell them about all of the escape routs and the rooms that they would be able to hide in.

"On his escort, they'll pass a room that'll have a hidden space underneath the floor. It isn't noticeable but it'll work." Miller told the heroes, a glass of water held in his hands.

"You won't just be helping Lincoln, you'll also be helping Kane and Sinclair." Harper added. "If we don't get them out, they'll die too."

"We can do that." Charli looked back towards his group, waiting for them to nod along, for them to tell him they were okay with it. They all nodded, because they were heroes who had to save the lives of people who would die. Adding Kane and Sinclair to the list wouldn't be any different. "We can."

"So here's the plan... right from the beginning."

₊❏❜ ⋮ ⌒ TWO HEROES ... Charli and Kohana pulled Sinclair, Kane and Lincoln into the metal room Harper had shown them. They lifted the floor and ordered them inside the small compartment before they covered it back up, hiding them from everyone. Zay. Kat and Liam were hidden away with Harper and Miller, ready to help them escape from where they were. They could help from there, using a radio to distract where everyone was.

They waited in the small space until they heard Pike and his people come and go. When they left, Charli and Kohana were quick to get out of the small space before they helped pulling the other three up, them having a harder time since their hands and feet were still tied together.

"Ko. Come in?" Harpers voice was heard through the radio on Charlis side.

"Go ahead." Kohana spoke into the radio, ignoring the looks she got from Charli and everyone else. She had taken the radio right from Charli, but she did it kindly!

"Stay where you are. Repeat. Stay where you are. The exit is not clear." Harper told Kohana. From where she was, she could see a majority of the guards looking for the prisoners.

"How many guards?" Kohana paced the room. This wasn't the plan. They were supposed to hide and then get out, not having to wait like a sitting duck.

"Too many. I said 'stay put'." Harper told Kohana with a strict tone.

"Calling all guards. The prisoners are headed for the main gate. The prisoners are headed for the main gate. Over." An unknown voice to Kohana and Charli spoke through the radio, distracting the guards and Pike which gave everyone a change to escape.

They left the room right after that. It would take them about two minutes to get to the hole in the wall where they would escape. If they had no interruptions.

When they made it to the wall, Sinclair and Charli went in first. Zay had been standing outside, howling a hand out to help everyone in. Kane and Abby Griffin had kissed outside of the hole in the wall, the two sharing a moment before Kane was told to leave.

That left Lincoln, Zay and Kohana. Well, and Kane too, but he was inside the hole, waiting for the others to come through.

"I have a message for the traitors in this camp. There will be an execution today. Either turn yourselves in or the other Grounder prisoners will die in your place." Pikes voice was loud and clear over the radio system. Someone would die today, who it was, was entirely up to the heroes.

"Let's go." Kohana grabbed ahold of Lincoln's arm. She tried to direct him towards the exit. He wouldn't move. "Lincoln."

"I can't let them die because of me." Lincoln told her, he smiled sadly, knowing he wouldn't be able to go home and see Octavia.

"Lincoln, please. We're almost out. You have to live." Zay gave Lincoln a pointed look.

"I know what you're feeling, but they're searching the station. We need to go, now." Kane said, gesturing to the exit as he looked between everyone. It was now or never.

"Go." Zay pushed Lincoln forward. "Now. I'll stay, I'll get them out, I promise. This is our - my - mission."

"I can't let you." Lincoln told him. He was frowning, glancing at the red behind him that Pike and his men would go through at any moment.

"You have too. We can't let you die." Zay pushed him forward, and Lincoln listened, he believed that Zay would get them out.

It was just Kohana and Zay left standing there. Kane was nearby, crouched in the exit. Ready to leave when they were done with their goodbyes.

"You should go." Zay told Kohana, opening his arms and hugging her. He would miss her.

"You've always been my favourite." Kohana told him. "I can't let you do this."

"You have too." Zay stuck what Kane and Harper had told them was a reaper stick into Kohanas neck. She fell limp with a gasp, her eyes closing. Zay managed to move her towards Kane, who swooped her up without any problems.

"What are you doing?" Kane asked, eyes wide with shock.

"She would have died. You, Sinclair and Lincoln, you all have to live. If me surrendering means that you three and the grounders in lock up live, than it'll be worth it. My mission will be complete."

₊❏❜ ⋮ ⌒ KOHANA ... is laid across Octavias horse. She groggily looks up to see a brunette looking down at her, she smiles at Kohana.

"I'm Octavia." Octavia says, helping Kohana sit up straight. "I want to thank you, for what you had done for Lincoln."

"Zay?" Kohana slid off the horse, falling to her knees. She scrambled up as Kat rushed to her side. "Where is he?" Kohana looked around where they were in the trees. She couldn't see him, or that was until she did.

Zay was in the middle of arkadia, standing in a puddle of muddy water with his hands bound together.

"I can't free the grounders. But I can promise they'll be cared for." Pike told Zay. He was being honest. He wouldn't harm the ones in lock up. "I know you and the grounders had been working together, I mean, Octavia Blake sent you because she knew if she came back she too would be executed."

"You don't have to do this." Zay whispered quietly, just loud enough for Pike to hear him.

"Zay, you have been sentenced to death, in accordance with the Exodus Charter. Any last words?"

"No, not for you."

Kohana cried out as she watches Pike aim his gun at Zays head. He was only a child, sentenced to die. Zay looks up once more, letting the rain wash down on his face. The gun shot echoed in the air, and with that, Zays body falls to the ground.

"No!" Kohana sobs, her heart hurting.

"A warrior don't mourn the dead until the war is over." Octavia whispered to Kohana as she helped her up from her kneeling position on the wet grass.

Kohana sniffled but she forced herself to stop crying. In this world, she wasn't just Kohana who was apart of a hero group, she was a warrior here. All the heroes were warriors, whether they wanted to believe it or not.

"Yu gonplei ste odon."
