Rutvika's P.O.V. :

I opened my eyes as the bright rays of the sun fell upon them. The window was open with sunshine peeping through it and I could see Hailey waking up as well. I'd never imagined having two step sisters but here I am. Facing my second step sister about whom I came to know just yesterday. Her eyes which were a bit shaking from the harshness of the light slowly opened and her gaze fell upon me. An unknown emotion floated among her greyish black eyes which from the picture I knew resembled her mother. She tried to take small steps but being tied up she failed. Ritik had loosened my ropes yesterday so I timidly moved towards here and removed the cloth around her mouth from my loosely tied hands.

She spoke,"I don't know what to say. Just sorry for dragging you in my mess."

"How did you drag me? What happened?"

"I'm sorry." She sobbed and I didn't know what to say. She controlled her tears and spoke in a mere whisper but still I could hear her,"My mom... I tried to rescue her when Rahil(father) tried to kill her. Later when I got the chance one fine day I informed the police and so the police is behind him. That's why he wants to kill him and take his heir Ritik with him."

"Where do I come in all this?" I asked her curiously raising my eyebrows.

"Well, actually when he caught me red handed informing the police I was also informing about your mother but police already knew. And you were the eye witness of the abuse as I was the eye witness of my mother's murder. So as soon as he knew this, he wanted to kill both of us. Nobody could then prove his sins. I'm sorry, I'm really sorry. You are in this mess because of my foolishness."

"Don't worry. I don't think that you are the one to be blamed. My birth father is to be blamed."

"Thank you" she said with sincerity visible in her eyes. She surely was a different kind of girl than those I've mess. She's a bit like Pari, a bit like Radhika and a bit like me as well with a tinge of her own. And our sister moment was broken with the creaking sound of the door being opened quite harshly. There stood he face haunting my nightmares, which I always dreaded to see right in front of me. That creepy man who I once used to call 'father' stood there with a sickeningly sweet smile and said,"Oh my dear daughters, let me take you to the beach today. Its at a distance and I want you to co-operate. Otherwise you very well know what I can do." He grinned like a maniac and ordered us to follow him quickly tying down the ropes but not noticing mine to be a bit loose earlier itself. I saw Ritik hidden behind a wardrobe listening to this conversation and I begged god to send help.

With that we left the place and I was terrified for what was coming next. How could I not be when my own father was ready to kill me to hide his sins and had gone really mad?

 We arrived to the beach in an hour or so and he led us to some rocky pier where I could make out something been kept from a distance and with actions I warned Hailey. I was scared for my life. But soon some shadows of people appeared and I was relieved to say the least. The policemen were here at last. I don't know how to thank God. With them was my family. And Sargam holding Ritik who was still crying while his shoulders were shaking intensely. I slowly made my way towards them and hugged Ritik whom stopped crying after a while then went towards Hailey. I turned to meet Sargam's eyes which were full of tears as well. I gently took him in a hug while he placed his head in the crook of my neck like always and silently cried but his next words took me absolutely by surprise,"How could you leave me again just after I realized that I had fallen in love with you?"
