Frodo Baggins' eyes widened and he lowered his pipe. He had just remembered what day it was- and it was already noon of that day, oh dear.

"Sam!"

Samwise Gamgee sat up and lowered his book onto his lap at his friend's urgent tone.

"What is it, Mister Frodo?"

"It's Y/N's birthday and we forgot!"

Sam chuckled for some reason as both hobbits scrambled to their feet.

"Quick! To the bakery, we've got to get a cake, and then to the jeweler's, we could find something for her there, and then to find Y/N and take her to dinner- Sam?"

Sam fiddled with the bottom of his shirt and grinned at Frodo.

"You don't have to worry, Mister Frodo. I've got everything all ready, there'll be a little party tonight, with all the cake and dancing she could want."

Frodo gave a sigh of relief and carefully put out his pipe.

"What would I do without you, Sam?"

"Forget your fiancée's birthday, that's what."
