Frodo looked with a sad half-smile to Sam, who stood in the doorway of this elven bedroom. Despite everything they'd been through, their hearts were filled with light as they met each other's eyes with understanding in their gazes. The world was saved- and that meant they could go home, to the Shire and to Y/N, in peace, and nothing could have brought them greater joy.
