Chapter fifteen
The Battle of Crait
Ryssa's POV:
We arrived on Crait. "You still have that piece of junk?" Ada's voice said. Din looked at his wife and said "yes. Still have the crest. And if I remember, you thought it was a cool ship back then." Gage smirked at his mother who said "that was a long time ago." Leia stood next to Ada and she noticed me, walking over. "Ryssa, it's been so long." I nodded and said "I know. I tried to help Ben get on the right path." Leia put her hand on my shoulder and said "I know." We all quickly got inside the large rebel base. Finn and Poe had a reunion and Finn said "Poe, I'd like to introduce you to Ryssa Dartsen." I held out my hand and Poe shook it. "I've heard a lot about you. Thanks for everything you've done." He said. I nodded and said "of course." A girl stood behind Poe, she held a fistful of his jacket. There was a bright pink orange streak in her hair. "This is Coral. She's kinda shy. She was one of the stormtroopers that defected to help me." Poe said. "Coral, no need to be shy. I'm Ryssa." She stepped forward and Finn said "it's ok." I could see what Kylo was talking about. He made this poor girl scared out of her mind. I could feel everything that happened to her. She was very close to him while she worked on the ship. And if she did something wrong, Kylo would just scream at her. "Hi." Coral said as she tried to be more confident. I smiled at her and a smile appeared on her face. "You've been ok? Since I was gone?" Finn asked her. She looked at him and said "yes. I had Poe. But I was still worried about you." "I told you I was coming back. We stick together." Finn told her. Coral nodded and I watched Poe give her his hand. She held his hand and it seemed like a reassurance mechanism. "Whatever Kylo did to you, we'll make him pay." Finn said. Rose introduced herself to Coral. I wanted to explain to Coral that Kylo was conflicted and wanted to be a good person deep down. But at the same time, she wouldn't listen. It would be too soon for her. Leia and Poe began to make a plan.

He left Coral's side and I said "hey, you can sit with me." She nodded and looked at my dress. "Are you a princess?" She asked. "Close. I'm a queen. Have you ever heard of a place called Naboo?" She shook her head and I said "it's beautiful there. And it's peaceful. There wouldn't be any trouble for you there." "It's a nice place?" "A very nice place. You could always come back with me." I wanted her out of harms way. I only just met her and felt obligated to protect her. "I would but..." She looked over at the resistance pilot who was talking to Leia about a plan. "You don't want to leave Poe." Coral nodded and said "he makes me feel safe. Finn too." "That's good. It's always good to feel that way." I replied.

The First Order had arrived and there was a group to go out on some of the speeders left there. Luke Skywalker had also shown up. He approached me and said "Ryssa." I half smiled and said "master Luke. It's been so long." "Yes. It has." Milla and James stared in shock at their father who they hadn't seen for years. "Where's your mom?" Luke said to his kids. Jade Dragoon Skywalker walked into the room. "Luke?" She asked. She about fainted and her son caught her. "Mom, dad's really here." Jade looked at her husband and they embraced. Soon after Luke announced to everyone that he would go out and confront Kylo Ren. "I'll go with you." Luke shook his head and said "let me go first. Then maybe you can come after me. I need to confront him before you do. In fact, you already have." Luke walked outside and went to confront the supreme leader. I stood at the door, wanting to follow Luke so badly. "So, do you think Luke is gonna take him down?" A man said. I looked at him and said "who are you?" "Sebastian." He held out his hand for me to shake but before I could shake it, a slap was heard. Sebastian turned to look at Nephle who was smirking. "Got ya." She said. Sebastian's eyes widened and I shook my head. "Can I have a kiss?" He said. Nephle shrugged and said "maybe." I then made the bold move to approach Kylo and Luke. I don't know why but I felt like I needed to. One last try. Possibly. "I failed you, Ben. I'm sorry." Luke said to him. "I'm sure you are! The Resistance is dead, the war is over, and when I kill you, I will have killed the Last Jedi!" Kylo screamed at him. "Amazing. Every word of what you just said was wrong." Luke replied. Kylo was so angry. His eyes were fixated on Luke, igniting his lightsaber. "Strike me down in anger, I'll alway be with you." Luke said. Kylo didn't care. He swung his lightsaber at Luke and I watched as the lightsaber came into contact with his body. Luke still stood there. It was a force projection. Kylo twirled his lightsaber, ready to strike him again, even though he wasn't there.

"I'm not even there. But I know who is." Luke said. Kylo took a step and said "yeah? Who?" I watched as Luke gestured to me and Kylo turned around to look at me. "You won't hurt them." I said as I went to ignite my lightsaber. Kylo wanted to swing at me, he wanted to fight me. But he couldn't. He walked past Luke and circled me. "What're you doing here?" He said. "Trying to stop you. Please don't do this." Kylo continued to circle me. The crackle of his lightsaber being the only noise in the silence.

"Don't do this." I said softly. He disengaged his lightsaber, the crackling coming to a stop. "Hux is up there." He said. "So?" "I don't need him seeing me be weak because you're here." I rolled my eyes and said "you really care what he thinks? You outrank him. What can he do?" "He'll never stop bringing it up." "Then let him." I reached for his hand which Kylo took. "I'm not going to ask you to come with me. You already made your choice and I made mine." I said. Kylo shook his head and said "our choices don't have to be final." "What do you mean?" He went to open his mouth, then I felt it. The Resistance was getting away. Kylo looked to the building and said "no!" I pushed on his chest and said "Ben, I won't let you hurt them." "Get out of my way." He said. I shook my head, pushing him. It didn't do much good though since he was a lot stronger than me. Kylo moved me out of his way and began to walk to the base. "Ben! Stop!" I yelled. He stopped. He turned around to look at me. "What? What do you want?!" He yelled. "I want you to stop! I want you to focus on me! Don't pay attention to them!" He was fuming. "You want me to pay attention to you? So they can get away?!"

"Yes! Chase me instead!" "So I can get blown up on Naboo? You're crazy!" I sighed and said "I told you how I felt, damn it. Whoever you choose to be, I love you. And that just doesn't matter to you." "It does matter to me. But there's nothing I can do if you don't join me. That's the only way we can be together." He said. "Then we have to say goodbye." "No." "Yes. There's no hope for us." I said as I began to walk away. Kylo grabbed me by arm and I tried to yank my arm from him. "You're leaving me again." He said. I nodded and said "I have to. You said yourself that the only way we can be together is if I join you. Maybe in another life." I was going to have to let him go. "Ben, I need your attention." Luke said. Kylo turned around and said "you're not even here!" "So? That doesn't matter. Let her go and focus on me." Kylo looked down at his hand on my arm and then let go. He turned around and faced Luke. This was my chance to go back to the resistance. I started to run, my footprints moving the salt around on the ground. "Ryssa!" Kylo yelled. I continued to run, not looking back. Once I made it back to the base I saw the ships approaching it. "Come on." Coral said as she grabbed my arm. She pulled me through these tunnels where the resistance was getting onto the falcon. "You want us to take you back to Naboo?" Din asked me. Nephle looked at my arm and said "you guys will patch her up?" Gage nodded and said "of course." I hugged my best friend and said "stay safe." "I will." I looked at Coral and said "I hope to see you again." "Me too." She said. Din walked into his ship and Gage went to follow his father. I took a step towards the ship and heard Kylo's voice in my mind.

"Ryssa, don't. Please."

As much as I wanted to respond to him. I didn't. I got onto the ship and our destination was Naboo.

Last Jedi is over🙃 idk what the last part of this chapter was but it's whatever. I was trying to have Ryssa and Kylo have another showdown or something.
