Chapter nineteen
Exegol
Ryssa's POV:
"Come with me." Kylo's voice said. I jumped and looked around the room. "Where?" "Exegol." "What's Exegol?" "A planet." He stepped into view. I furrowed my eyebrows and said "when did you get here?" "That doesn't matter. I need you to come with me. Now." He said. "Kylo, I can't just up and leave. People will notice if the queen is missing." I told him. "I don't care. You're coming with me. We won't be gone long." I nodded, knowing I wouldn't win the argument. And he didn't seem to be in the right headspace. "Give me a few minutes. I need Remus to cover for me." I said. Kylo shook his head and said "he can't know." "I won't tell him where I'm going or who I'm with. Remus is good for it. He's always had my back." Kylo nodded, not saying anything else. "Stay here." I told him. I left my bedroom and walked down the hall where Remus's was. I opened his bedroom door and he looked up at me. "Hey, Ryssa." He said. "I need you to cover for me." I said. He rolled his eyes and said "way to be blunt." "I'm sorry. I'm in a hurry and need you to cover for me. Please. I don't need mom and dad knowing what's up. And the kingdom can't know I left." "How long will you be gone? Where are you going?" Remus asked. I shook my head and said "I can't tell you where I'm going. And I won't be gone long. Please, Remus." My brother nodded and said "you'd better be back by morning." "I will." I left his room and rushed back to mine. Kylo jumped when I opened the door, closing it behind me. I locked it and Kylo and I snuck out of the castle, going to his ship.

We arrived on a planet which seemed to have a blue hue to it. Electricity crackled throughout the walls of the one building that stood. "Stay behind me." Kylo said. I nodded and we stepped on a platform like elevator, sending us deeper down below. I followed Kylo through caverns and tunnels, not understanding why we were here. "At last. Snoke trained you well." A voice said. Kylo ignited his lightsaber and aimed it at where the voice came from. "I killed Snoke. I'll kill you." Kylo said. A flash of lightning brought some light into the room. I saw where the voice had come from. Emperor Palpatine. My eyes widened at the fact he was still alive. "My boy, I made Snoke. I have been every voice, you have ever heard, inside your head." Palpatine's voice changed from his own to Snoke's and then Darth Vader's. Which I had never heard before. "The First Order was just the beginning. I will give you so much more." Palpatine said. "You'll die first." Kylo replied. I stood behind Kylo, terrified of what was to happen. "I've died before. The dark side of the force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be...unnatural. I see you've brought Ryssa Dartsen with you. I'm surprised you stand by him, after all he's done." Palpatine said as he looked at me. "What could you give me?" Kylo asked. Palpatine took a wheezing breath and said "everything. A new empire. The might of the final order will be ready. It will be yours if you do what I ask. Kill the girl, end the Jedi and become what you're grandfather Vader could not. You will rule the galaxy as the new emperor. But beware. She is not who you think she is." Rey. They were talking about Rey. "Who is she?" Kylo said. Palpatine began to explain that Rey was his granddaughter. And that the power she held was great. Kylo and I left once he received all the information he needed. The ride back to Naboo was silent. Neither of us saying anything. Until he broke it. "No, I'm not going to hurt Rey." "What will you do then?" I asked. "I don't know. But you don't need to worry about it. All you need to know is that you and I will take down Palpatine. Rey could help. She's be a lot of help." I put my hand on his arm and said "I don't like this." Kylo looked at me and said "everything's fine." I shook my head. "It's not. Did you hear what he said? Palpatine's been behind everything. This whole time." "Ryssa-" Kylo began but I interrupted him. "Ben, you cant do what he's telling you to." "I'm not." He quickly said. "You can't do any of it. You can't become the emperor. You can't." Kylo looked away from me and scoffed. "We'd rule everything. The whole galaxy." He said. "I don't want that. I just want you with me. I want to be able to walk through the woods on Naboo and do normal things, Ben." "Don't call me that. Ben is dead and he's never coming back." I bit my lip and we arrived on Naboo. As we walked through the woods back to the castle, the sun was beginning to rise. I felt him take my hand and I looked up at him. "Everything will be fine. Let me take care of Palpatine. Let me take care of Rey." He said. "You won't hurt her?" I said. He shook his head and said "I already told you that I wouldn't hurt her. I'm just gonna talk with her." I nodded and we reached the castle. "You might not hear from me. For a while." He said as I went onto the balcony. "I figured. Just promise me you'll be careful. Please." Kylo nodded and I kissed his cheek. He half smiled and left me standing on the balcony, going back to his ship.

Here's the update! I didn't want to write without watching rise of skywalker again. I hadn't seen it since it came out in the theater and Disney plus added it the other day! I hope everyone had a good May the 4th! I binged Star Wars all day lmao
