Chapter twenty
Palpatine's Returned
Ryssa's POV:
Remus stood next to me as I stood in front of the entire kingdom. "I've just received word from the Resistance, that Emperor Palpatine has returned." I said. Gasps were heard. "I will do everything in my power to protect this kingdom. I'll be working with the Resistance very closely, so I can protect you all." Then it happened. A vision appeared in my head. It was everything that had happened to Kylo and I.

"Come visit me on Naboo."

"I will."

Then I saw visions of him crying when I left. I never knew how hurt he was because of my departure. I gasped softly as Han patted his son's back as he cried.

"She's gone."

"Ryssa, you'll never marry that boy!"

Now visions flashed of my mother, telling me I'd never measure up to be the queen I am today. I heard Kylo shudder. He was seeing this too. Just like I was. I shook my head in disbelief. I watched as Kylo slayed the Jedi's at the temple.

"Ben, no!" Luke yelled.

Kylo and I stood on Takodona, Kylo freezing me in place. He carried me back onto his ship and then interrogated me. I remember the shock that ran through my body when I figured out that Ben Solo was Kylo Ren. Han's death flashed before the two of us, a tear going down my cheek. Then Kylo and I's fight in the snow.

"I saw it in your head. You need me." Kylo said.

"I don't!" I yelled at him, swinging the lightsaber.

I managed to beat Kylo in that fight, leaving his face horribly scarred. I regretted that. So much. Kylo gasped as he felt the regret that ran through my body. Then came the force bonds, our first kiss, the start of our relationship. Everything. The death of Snoke, Kylo begging me to join him.

"Ryssa, please. Please don't go."

"I can't stand with you. This isn't right."

Then the battle of Crait. Everything was flashing before my eyes so quickly. And just as if someone snapped their fingers, the visions were gone. I fell back into my brother's arms. He looked down at me and said "Ryssa?" "I need to lie down." I said. Remus brushed a strand of hair out of my face and I heard the clamors of the people of Naboo. I regained my balance and looked out at them. "I'm fine. I'm just just feeling tired. I'll take care of everything." Remus ushered me away from all the people. My mother began to handle the situation. "What happened?" Remus asked me. "A vision. It had to do with Kylo Ren. It was a very strong vision." I replied. Remus furrowed his eyebrows and I sighed. "Ryssa, what's going on?" "There's something I haven't told you." Remus pulled me into his bedroom and said "tell me." "For about a year now, I've been in a relationship with Kylo Ren." Remus' eyes widened and he said "are you serious?" "Yes. I don't expect you to understand why. But.." "Kylo is Ben, right?" I nodded and he said "then I do understand. You've been in love with him for years. Mom told you could never be with him. And you still ended up with him anyway." I half smiled and he said "a hologram came in for you earlier." "It did?" He nodded and said "you should go look at it." The two of us then walked to my bedroom. I then turned on the hologram. "Queen Dartsen, I've come to inform you that General Leia Organa would like you to come to Ajan Kloss. That's where the resistance is now. We've been here in secrecy for a year. Poe would give you this message but he's out on a mission at the moment. There's a spy in the first order and Poe and Finn went to retrieve a message from the spy. We don't know who the spy is yet. Please respond with a message that says you're on the way. We'll be sure to look out for you." The image of Coral then disappeared. "Who was that?" Remus asked. "That's Coral. She was a stormtrooper that defected like Finn. She could barely speak when I first met her. Poe and Finn must've taught her so much." I said. "I'm coming with you. To Ajan Kloss." Remus said. I shook my head and said "I don't want you in this fight." "Ryssa, I haven't done anything for the galaxy. Absolutely nothing. You've done more for it than I have. I'm a great pilot. I could be of use to the rebellion. You and I could just go." My younger brother looked at me with hope in his eyes. "You both should go. Both of you." The voice of my father said. Remus and I looked to the doorway. "The future of the galaxy is up to you. The two of you need to fight for it. Whatever it takes." Mom said. I stared at her in shock. "We can take care of the kingdom while you go. Restore peace to the galaxy." I nodded and told Remus to pack a bag of belongings, mostly clothing. I kept the gown I had on, removing the makeup. I packed a couple of outfits and Remus escorted me to his ship. He sent a message back to the rebellion and our destination was Ajan Kloss.
