(Based on the movie: A Cure For Wellness from 2016)

I kept my stare in the huge building in front of us, the scenery was beautiful but this is no trip to relax, my friend Lockhart and I were making our way to a sanitarium to retrieve to CEO to our company Ronald Pembroke who's been missing for a few days. I started working in the company with my childhood friend and made sure to travel with him refusing to let him go alone.

We were far away from New York since we traveled all over to Switzerland. Our driver stopped the car and saw many elder people outside dressed entirely in white robes. Lockhart and I exchanged look and I grabbed his hand before he could step out of the car, "I have a bad feeling about this place.." my friend scoffed and rolled his eyes tugging his hand away from mine.

"You always say that when you're with me in some unknown place." he whispered to me back and stepped out. I chased after him and stayed silent waiting for our meeting with Pembroke which the staff refused us to talk to.

I kept on looking all over the place with some of the staff looking at me weirdly, even they they talked was weird and it was creeping me out. Sure the place is gorgeous but i feel something bad with this wellness center. I waited for Lockhart outside investigating some spots before I heard someone whistling to me and i stood back up straight to see it was my friend. "Let's go." i heard him say so i rushed over to him and got inside the car. While our driver drove off I saw a one of the staff looking straight at us and a girl on top of a building.

"See I told you this place gives me the creeps."

"I have to agree with you this time (Y/N). There's something strange inside that place but we'll be leaving soon, we'll just find Pembroke and leave this place for good." i smile and looked at him and his icy blue eyes i've loved for the longest time.

"Hey.." he took my hand which surprised me and he gave a small gentle smile "Once we're back in New York let's hang out.." he says looking at me then to his lap. I smile wide and nod my head "I'd like that very much." i do hope he realizes my feelings for him.

"Listen..I-I..Look out!" I shout and point in front of the car to see a deer. The driver wasn't fast enough and ran over it, I felt Lockhart's arm around my waist stopping me from hitting the front window but the car flipped over a few time and I was out.

"Lockhart!"

I gasp as i sit up straight and stare at my surroundings then at myself, i'm dressed in white pants and white long sleeved shirt. From the corner of my eye I see a man sitting by the corner of the room "Good to know you've awaken. Now don't get startled you're safe here..My name is Dr Volmer-"

I ignore the man and start looking around and wince in pain when i see i have a broken arm. "Where's my friend?" i stand up and start walking out of the door with the doctor behind me. "No wait he hasn't woken up yet-"

I stop and face him "How many days have I been asleep?" i ask the man but sensed a bad vibe from him but tried being friendly.

"It's been two days..we've been treating you and Mr Lockhart well. I expect you to get some rest while your friend is asleep." he rested his hand on my back guiding me back to my room.

"I will thank you very much." i forced a smile before he closed the door behind me. I frowned and started looking around the room but ran to the bed when the door opened and saw some nurses coming in. I patiently waited till the next day and started walking down the long hallways and saw Lockhart walking with a broken leg, I rushed over to him and called out his name "I'm so glad to see you." i say hugging him with my good arm.

"Your arm is broken..are you alright?" he asks worried and i couldn't help but blush at him being more worried about me than before. "Do you remember anything after the crash?" i shook my head to the sides and walked beside him to look for Pembroke. "Nothing..my mind is in blank, let's find that man and get back home."

It wasn't a success. It was the next day and we were both dressed ready to leave until we saw the nurses were cleaning the ceo's room. I kept on thinking if he's dead cause they wouldn't tell us anything and since they were cleaning up it means he's dead..Lockhart didnt say anything and not long after we met a mysterious girl named Hannah who said "no one can leave this place" i kept on telling Lockhart for us to leave but for some reason he said no, he wanted to uncover more secrets surrounding the sanitarium.

The town is a few miles away and we wont be able to walk all the way there not with Lockhart hurt. Dr Volmer refused for us to sleep together in a room, but I would sneak in to his and talk about the place. "Pembroke can leave this place if he wants to let's just leave-"

"We can't do that (Y/N), you know it well, why did you even come in the first place?" he mutters and sits on the bed and i stare at him and sit in front of him. "..I came so you wouldn't be alone alright? I-I couldn't imagine you coming alone."

Lockhart stared at me and before he had the chance to answer I leaned towards him and kissed his lips and wrapped my left hand on his cheek. I opened my eyes when I felt him pull back. I stared at him in confusion but before i could ask him why he stopped, the door was open and i turned back to see it was a nurse.

I opened my eyes and gasped for air when I found myself in some sort of tank filled with water. I tried to scream but no one could hear me, i don't remember any doctor putting me in here, i tried banging my hands against the small window in order for someone to see but i saw some guy jerking off instead on keeping an eye on me. I banged even harder when i saw eels swimming around me and terrified at them i screamed, slowly i lost concious when i started drowning. It felt long after they pulled me out and saw my friend also gasping for air.

"Get away from him." i pushed the man away and glared at him and dr Volmer. "We both could've died! If it werent for your lousy staff jerking off-" "Ms (L/N) calm down." Dr Volmer tried saying but i only got aggressive. So they pulled me out of the room and dragged me to mine, they are starting to treat me like a patient. A day went by and I got my cast removed and Lockhart and I were outside and talked to Hannah if she could lend us her bike to get to town. We did and I was glad to be out of that sanitarium "Are you sure it was okay to bring her?" i ask taking a glance at the weird girl.

He looked back at her than me "Just stay here and keep an eye on her." he went on to call back to New York after i convinced him to leave after i saw some things that would look like something out of a Lovecraft book.

Lockhart looked at me and dropped the phone "They lied, they never called to let them know we had an accident." I stared at him confused and saw him walking to where Hannah was dancing and he grabbed her shoulder it wasn't long after the guy who was inappropriately touching Hannah and both men began to fight.

"Stop this now!" i shout after the guy hit Lockhart who hit his back against a table breaking it. I angrily stomped towards him with a glass vase in hand and hit the back of his head. The man grunted in pain but turned his gaze to me and shoved me to the floor and began choking me till Lockhart hit him again and saw the staff from the hospital barge in.

Lockhart rushed to my side and held me while i regained my breathe. "I told you we should've just left."

I looked down at the scars on both my wrists and silently cried. I just want to get out..I held onto Lockhart's hand while we remained in silence thinking of how to escape. "I should've listened to you.."

I nod my head while staring at the ground remembering what happened yesterday, they strapped us up and threatened us to leave Pembroke and forget everything about this place. They made me look while they strapped Lockhart up and tortured him and took his tooth out without anesthesia and nearly lobotomized me if it weren't for Lockhart breaking free and punching a few men. We ran to where the driver luckily was but it wasnt ling after they came for us in the village and took us in, saying we aren't criminals but patients at the facility.

"You should have.."

"You know i'm not the best man for you right (Y/N)?" Lockhart asks me and i shake my head and look back at him. "I know..but I love you and always will even if we'll be stuck here. I'll never leave your side Lockhart." he gave me a small smile and wrapped his arms around me.

"Then i'll have to make a promise..we'll get out of this place." i smiled back at him then the window to see it was starting to rain. "If we don't get out..I would like to spend some time with you alone since we wont have time.' i timidly look down at my lap then at him. Lockhart placed his hands on my cheeks and kissed my lips. I smiled into the kiss and pushed his back on the bed and undressed myself.

I was put under sedation as soon as Dr Volmer got Lockhart and I after we tried telling the elder that there is no cure and that they are dying cause of the water they are drinking. I stood still in bed after what they did to me, lobotomization. It wasnt till a few hours later I saw Lockhart again and saw that he had both his teeth in again while i grabbed his hand and held it tight while looking out by the mountains.

"I don't think i'll last this long..lets leave."

"Why would anyone want to leave?" he asked with a smile and stared at me. I stared back at him with horror and said nothing but left. While we were in the building again I showed him some pictures of what Volmer has been doing and who he really is. "Holy shit." i hear Lockhart says finally coming back. "He is the baron and Hannah is his own daughter." we rush to where they are and see him sexually assaulting his own daughter.

"You fucking bastard." i glare at Volmer as he stares at us both. Volmer stepped closer and pushed us both back but lucky for Lockhart he had a lighter and three it onto Volmer burning him and the underground up.

I ran over to Hannah and began untying her while Lockhart began fighting with the doctor. "Lockhart!!" i shout after Volmer pushed him down some stairs. I hurried and got a knife and started cutting the straps which Hannah was attached to. I hurried down the stairs to see Volmer ready to throw my boyfriend to where the eels were, Hannah had a shovel and smashed it on her father's face while i grabbed my knife and stabbed his chest.

I fell down to my knees and hugged Lockhart and kissed him, "Let's leave this place for good." i grabbed his hand and the three of us began to run out and saw the building on fire with all it's patients out.

"Lockhart! (Y/N) it's time to go." Hannah said coming with two bikes and we started riding off to the village before we crashed against a car and saw that our directors arrived hoping to take us back in and put all the blame to us for what we did.

Lockhart took my hand and we took a step back when they stared at us and the building on fire. "(Y/N) I know you're a smart woman and know how to get Lockhart to agree-"

"I'm sorry..but there's no way we're leaving with you all." I answer them and showed them the middle finger.

"We're feeling well after all." Lockhart answered before riding off me and Hannah, I glance to my left to see Lockhart smiling wide and i began to laugh hysterically and cry to myself. We are free..i'm free from that hell with Lockhart..but i've never felt this well in my life. I continue to ride down the dark streets with a wicked smile on my face.

I'm free alright...and i've never felt this good.
