"I'm not mad, Daiki! Seriously," Zio said tiredly throwing his clothes in a box.

"And why aren't you? I know you, Z. I know you want to be mad right now. And you should be, I'm mad right now."

Zio huffed and redirected the conversation.

"Are you happy, Daiks?"

Daiki nodded reluctantly looking away Zio. He honestly didn't mean to do it.

"Then I'm not mad. I'm actually happy for you," Zio blinked back his tears. "I'm glad you found someone that makes you happy even if it wasn't me."

A pause.

"And a woman but I don't really want to dwell on that too long."

Daiki laughed, wiping his face of his own tears. He held his arms out silently asking for a hug. Zio let him and silently relished this hug that would probably be his last hug from Daiki for quite a while.

"Just promise you'll invite me to the wedding, okay? And I don't want this to wreck things between us, okay? You're still my best friend so don't go beating yourself up about this for too long."

Daiki nodded. He didn't trust himself to open his mouth and not instantly start sobbing.

"...good."

Daiki squeezed Zio's shoulders.

"...I love you too, cookie monster."
