I sighed as Valerie quickly ran to her apartment she and Freed shared. Freed immediately ran after her so desperately I thought he would collapse right then and there. Would Natsu ever run like that for me?

"Freed, calm down what's the hurry?" Mirajane went over to him and started bandaging up a wound I didn't notice before. My eyes immediately wandered to his chest that was soaked in blood.

A fresh wound.

"Who the Hell did this?!" Natsu immediately got angry. He growled, probably thinking about the best way to beat the person who hurt Freed up, honestly, I was too.

"It's not a matter of 'who', it's more of a 'what'," Freed explained, although he definitely wasn't finished. "The shadow thing Valerie mentioned earlier. I... it took Evergreen and Bickslow, but no need to worry, I shall catch up with her, you guys stay here," before anyone could even blink, Freed had disappeared off to his apartment that no one had any clue on its whereabouts.

"He's hurt, we should go after him!" I suggested, but Erza shook her head, moving on to a different matter almost immediately.

"Lying to Valerie about being at Lucy's, what were you thinking, Natsu?!" Erza asked the pink haired Dragon Slayer, making all those who were on the mission with us turn their head to Erza and Natsu.

"She didn't need to know about the mission," he stated, he knew more about Valerie than anyone in the guild, I figured that much out on my own. But, surely he didn't have the right to give Valerie the information we found on the mission.

He had to have really cared about her to keep our mission a secret, but then again, the thought of the battle we had and the pain we endured sent shivers down my spine, I'm sure it was the same for everyone else.

But still, why keep it from Valerie? He had told Gajeel, Wendy and even went out of his way to find Laxus and Cobra to warn them. He had told, except for Valerie.

I didn't know what kind of Dragon Slaying Magic she used, I didn't really find the time to care, she was powerful, that's was all I needed to know.

Or, rather, it was all I wanted to know.

Looking back on that day I fought with Valerie, she didn't even use her Dragon Slaying Magic, just combat techniques that I have never seen before and other types of Magic I had no clue even existed. The arc of Embodiment was one of them, and the things she created were like beautiful creatures that wanted to win the battle as if her life depended on it, it was like that every battle she had.

I lost to her, that was no surprise. My spirits didn't have a chance, not even Aquarius. She had told me not to rely too much on my spirits and to work on my combat skills. I ignored her from then on, and that's when I started noticing changes.

She became more closed off and introverted. She ignored other guild members and took more missions, she was almost never in the guild hall.

Natsu never talked about his life before I came along, all I really knew is that he and Valerie were inseparable, and I changed that.

Without knowing it, I had altered their relationship for the absolute worst.

And I was the only one who didn't know.

But I wasn't the only one who noticed the changes in Valerie. Erza, Freed, Natsu, Laxus, even Mystogan noticed the changes. It was then I realised she was friendly to everyone before I came along, everyone seemed to get along with her.

"She had the right to know, you know that," Erza stated, making Natsu growl and waking me out of my thoughts.

"She doesn't need to know about it," he argued, not making eye contact with anyone.

It was obvious he cared for her, be it a friendly way, a comrade way or a rival way, he cared for her. I don't want him to care for her more than a friend, it made my heartstrings tug and my teeth subconsciously grit.

"Why? You went out of your way to tell Cobra and you can't tell your own comrade?" I butted in, earning no reaction from Natsu.

"Lucy's right, you did tell Cobra. And yet, not a word of warning to Val? What is wrong with you, Natsu?" Erza looked slightly pissed, along with confused.

"I'm trying to keep her safe, if she finds out, let's just say she won't make it to her nineteenth birthday," Natsu said solemnly, I wonder if I was in Valerie's position, would he care as much as he does with Valerie?

I hope so, he's the one I've been crushing on since I joined Fairy Tail, and Valerie's the one I've been jealous of since I joined.

What's not to be jealous of? She basically had every guy at her feet. She was strong, stronger than Erza, or perhaps even Gildarts!

Although, she did cut her hair since I last seen her, a year ago. It used to be longer and down to her waist, now it was a pixie cut. She kept the black streak through her head, though.

"Protect her from what exactly?" Levy's voice snapped me out of my thoughts. She and Valerie had met through Gajeel, who Valerie became friends within seconds of knowing him.

Natsu shook his head. "It's none of your business, Val wanted to keep it a secret, especially from the other Dragon Slayers and Gramps."

"What do mean by that, Natsu?" Levy was obviously concerned, she was one of the most worried of all of us, being one of her closest friends.

"Nothing," he shook it off as if it was nothing. Like he didn't give a crap about the outcome of his actions.

Erza gritted her teeth, which, surprisingly, didn't make Natsu shiver in fear. Something was wrong, we all knew it, but only one of us knew what.

Natsu.

He wouldn't keep something from me, right? I mean, I understand why he hides it all from Gray and the other members, but me? I thought we trusted each other...

Unless it's something to do with Valerie, in which case, I'm a bit jealous. Why does she get all of Natsu's attention? Why does he like her more than me? I have bigger boobs and a bigger butt, so why?

"Natsu... Tell me right this instant," this time, Natsu did shiver in fear of Erza's wrath.

"Valerie's... Different... From all of the other Dragon Slayers..." the Dragon Slayers, Levy, Gray, Erza and I looked over at Natsu in curiosity.

"... How?"

"Well... She and Lyon were separated at birth, as you all know," we all nodded. "Well, when they were separated, Val was found my two dragons, not one,"

"... What?" I asked. Does that make her even more powerful? Does that mean she has two types Dragon Slaying Magic?!

"I never got her dragons' names, but one was an Ice Dragon and the other was a God Dragon."

"... A God Dragon?"

"I dunno much about it, or Val's past... But she didn't need to know about that mission, I'm telling you," Erza sighed in defeat, which was quite unlike her.

"Can't we just tell her part of i- and he's gone," Gray started, but was interrupted by Natsu running in the direction Valerie and Freed went in. "Don't ignore me, Pyro!"

We followed Natsu only to find a breathless Freed collapsed in the middle of the street, blood making its way out of his wounded stomach.

"Freed! Are you alright?!" I yelled, making my way to the green haired male.

"Of course he's not alright! Look at him!" Gray snapped, making me step back a little.

"I'm fine, guys, but Val's in trouble. You guys go get some bandages, I'll wait here, then we shall go help her."

Without thinking, all four of us, five including Happy, ran back to the guild to grab some bandages.

We rummaged through the cabinets and cupboards, looking desperately for some bandages and perhaps ointment, not knowing how naive we were being.

We finally found what we needed, although not much was left due to Mira patching up Valerie earlier, her bloody bandages were in the bin, and there was A LOT more blood than anyone could've expected.

But when we got to where Freeds bloody body was once. Replacing his body was a pool of blood, a trail of fresh blood coming from the pool of blood and heading towards the way he intended to go if not for so much blood being lost.

We then ran back to the guild to find someone who knew where Freed and Valerie's apartment was located, no one knew, except for the Thunder Legion, who were, we thought, at the apartment at that very moment.

Natsu's fist collided with the wall in fury and complete anger. We all watched as he slowly looked up.

He had the scariest face on him. His onyx eyes held what seemed to be an actual fire in them. The fire in his eyes was raging and bright, completely noticeable. His sharp teeth were gritted and his fists were curled. He looked terrifying, even Erza seemed to be even the tiniest bit scared.

"If we don't know where the apartment is, we'll just have to find out," but everyone who knew where the apartment was, was in the apartment itself, how were we gonna - "We'll have to find Laxus again, he's the only way to find that damn apartment."

So, we formed a team that consisted of Natsu, me, Happy, Gray, Erza, Wendy, Carla, Gajeel, Pantherlily and Levy. The ten of us immediately went searching for Laxus to find the apartment to find Freed, who would tell us what was wrong with Evergreen and Bickslow and explain this 'Shadow-thing' in more detail to us.

And help Valerie, of course.

But a part of me wanted to never see her again, to make her disappear, to never return. I didn't know why I wanted her to go so badly, I just wanted her blood to spill more than it already had, which would probably lead to her death with the amount of blood we had seen on her bandages in the bin in the infirmary,"

And I got just what I wanted in a matter of days. Not fully aware of it at the time, I had just given myself a way for the darkness to make its way into my body and change my life and the guilds', for the worst.

I was becoming the destruction of Fairy Tail.

Little did I know, I wasn't the only one.
