I sat on the window seat in my room that night, sipping some tea as Burton slept by my feet, curled up in a ball. 

The man from the secret meadow... He wasn't a dream after all...

I sighed and rubbed my arms, being careful with the bruises Cameron had left on my upper arm.

But it couldn't be him. The man in the meadow had horns on his head... Didn't seem so human....

The man who I met in that hidden meadow... He knew me, he knew my name, and so did this man...

My thoughts were pulled by a knock on the door and jumped, seeing Alex stood there with two mugs full of hot tea.

"Figured you could use something to calm down after today," she said, walking in and handing me a mug.

I sighed and took it. "Thanks."

"If you want, we can get a restraining order on Cameron," she said, sitting across from me.

"If its come to this, then fine. We can file one tomorrow before school," I said, leaning back as I let the warmth from the mug soothe me.

"Okay," Alex smiled. "It'll just give me pleasure seeing him away from you."

"You and me both," I said as we clinked our mugs together, then sighed.

"Something else is on your mind?" she asked.

I sighed. "Remember when we were ten years old, we went to that really wooded park back in Albuquerque?"

"Jillian Park? Yeah, it was our first time checking it out," She said, setting the mug aside just as Burton trotted in.

I nodded. "Remember what I told you happened to me? That man I told you I saw in the secret meadow?"

"Yeah... I think so... But Jade, he's not real," She said. "We both agreed he was just some imaginary person or someone from a dream."

I sighed and looked out the window. "But what if he wasn't...?"

"What, did... Did you see him?" she asked, her eyebrows furrowed together.

"Honestly... I don't even know," I said, looking back at her. "I'm tired, maybe I should get some sleep."

"Yeah, its wise. You had hell of a day, today. Get some sleep," Alex said, placing her hand over mine.

I smiled and nodded. "Alright, thanks."

She nodded and got up, taking both empty mugs, and we said our good nights as she left the room.

I sighed and snuggled into my sweater a bit more, then looked at Burton as he woke up from his nap.

"You think I'm seeing things, Burton?" I asked.

He only meowed as he cleaned himself.

I smiled and pet his head. "Guess we'll find out one day..."

I got up and changed into my pajamas, washed my face and brushed my teeth before crawling into bed, Burton pouncing to the foot of the bed and turned off my light before getting comfy, soon falling asleep.

*Kuza*

I watched from below as the window of Jade's bedroom went dim, signifying that she turned off her light and fell asleep.

I then felt a presence behind me and snarled in defense as I turned, only to meet with Lucifer.

"Its okay... Its just me," He said, his hands up in defense.

I relaxed and retracted my fangs. "Sorry... What's wrong?"

"Its just... I know you care about her, especially since she's Lily's reincarnation..." he mumbled. "But Kuza, if you keep seeing her like this, you'll be risking everyone's lives, including Amelie."

I sighed. "I know you're scared, Lucifer, but even you must have had enough of Satan's rule already," I said. "She's the only one who can help us stop him."

He sighed. "Is Amelie safe?"

"Dementia can cast a protection spell," I said.

Lucifer sighed. "I had to watch my whole family die one by one," he said. "For fuck's sake, they decapitated Demetri and fed his head to the hellhounds, soon leading to Demeter's suicide...Evalina and Anastasia were raped and dismembered... WHILE THEY STILL BREATHED!!"

I gulped, remembering the images of watching the Lioncourt children be tortured and killed one by one.

Prince Lucifer and Princess Amelie, the youngest of them all, are all that's left.

"Amelie's all I have left,and Eugenia is going through hell trying to protect her," Lucifer said.

"I know... I know what I'm doing, though. You have to trust me. If I don't protect her, then she'll meet the same fate as your sisters, probably worse," I said. "And she doesn't deserve that."

"But what makes her so special? It can't be because she's Lily's reincarnation," Lucifer spoke. "Unless...."

I looked down at the ground.

"You love her...." he said, surprised.

I sighed. "Yes..."

"Kuza, this is too risky," Lucifer said. "Mostly for her, Satan will find out and torture her worse than any prisoner, and make you watch before finishing you off."

"I know.... But not if I have anything to say about it," I said, looking at him.

He nodded. "You are without a doubt the most stubborn and chivalrous fool I've ever met, Kuza. I will never understand why I admire that," He said, chuckling softly at the end of his sentence.

I smirked a small laugh as we looked back up at the window. "Admiring to you, irritating to Dementia."

"She's a feline demon. Everything irritates her," Lucifer said, stiffened as he held to his temple.

"Who summons you?" I asked.

"King Poseidon," He said. "Said its urgent."

"He needs to stay hidden in the moors. Any sign of mermaids from Satan or his servants, their goners," I said.

"The witches and warlocks are aiding in hiding them there. I'll meet with one of the them before seeing what it is his Majesty needs me for," Lucifer said.

"Send another one to protect Amelie, just in case," I said. "If you're not close, anything could happen."

He nodded. "Do whatever you must to help free us all," He said before disappearing into a cloud of blood red smoke.

I sighed and looked back before teleporting back to Underworld.

Its time I interact more with Jade now.
