Jason Todd's Point of View

I watch the two girls exit from the club realising how I got into this mess. How exactly did I end up working with the people I'm trying to help catch? I'm not entirely sure but I know I now own one hell-of-a sword.

It looks antique and has gold engravings over a silver, no platinum, blade. The handle is quality and the overall finish proves how custom made the sword is, probably even hand crafted...

Wonder how she got it... I'll have to ask her next time...

And I'm already thinking about there being a next time, she's a criminal...

Then again so am I... Ugh.

And the blinking dot is moving, in the direction of the Docks. Duh. Everything shady happens at the docks.

Once it stops I'm left facing the front of a warehouse. From the outside it looks abandoned, with all the windows boarded up from the outside the doors as well. Typical. The illegal blackmarket is happening somewhere that doesn't look suspicious. There is a brief moment when I mourn for the fact that the criminals in this city are getting marginally smarter. Marginally. Then I get to work disabling the guards at the front entrance that are looking rather nonchalant, before walking in the front door.

I know it's stupid. That there is probably a less obvious way to enter but right now I actually couldn't care. All of this is being used to kill kids, it doesn't have to be first hand with the various pieces of weaponry but can also be by selling the real depressed ones drugs so they can die of substance abuse. Right now I am real glad I took up the opportunity to do this and didn't just arrest her. I even get to take all the credit.

I'm stood in the corner of the room on a catwalk that is suspended above the main crowd. I don't actually remember how I got up here but... Who cares, right?

Just looking at the crowd I can see representatives of lots of large players, guys from Black Masks gang, The Penguin himself, two Riddler informants, one of Scarecrows guys, as well as some members of the other gangs and crime families in Gotham.

There are however also people I don't recognise from different cities maybe? I don't know...

"Crooks and Criminals of Gotham City, I am Blacksmith your host for tonight..." Said the woman stood on top of a make shift stage commanding the attention of the mass below. Her name was an obvious alias and her voice lacked the accent every Gothamite should have. It was weird, outsiders don't normally host these things in Gotham.

"Tonight Penguin has a special item to auction off to the highest bidder. He went to a lot of trouble to make sure this item wasn't hot so we're going to start the bidding at double the normal price." She said catching my attention. Glancing down at the tracker I see that the dot was moving now towards the stage.

To put it simply I could not believe what I'm seeing, the Queens Five Diamond necklace was being displayed in centre stage.

As I regained my composure I let out a bitter laugh and leaned against the rail on the side of the catwalk. "I hate to alarm you all, but that," I said pointing to the necklace with one hand and holding up the tracker with the other, "Is the fake necklace that lead me here." Before anyone could react I jumped over the side of the catwalk and started to beat on the guys stupid enough to attend tonights meeting.

Landing on the first guy knocked him out cold. I backflipped off him and over the head of another while shoving him downwards. As I landed I kicked at the shins of another guy, who tried to make a punch. Dodging the next punch thrown my way I caught the guys arm and threw him into Penguin. The short fat man went down with an oomph and I smiled. I turned around to see the mystery host for tonight running out the door as more thugs run towards me.

I threw the tracking device at the head of the one leading the charge and pulled out my gun to take out another by banging the butt of the handle into his temple. One of the two left standing swung a long metal rod towards my head and I countered it by gripping the end twisting it and then shoving it in his crotch. The final guy looked at me and came at me with a shard of broken glass and I shot out one of his kneecaps and rammed the shard of glass through his hand and the fucker let out a yell.

Finally, I turned towards Penguin, who was trying to crawl towards the door. I looked at him try to muster up the strength with his desperation. Then I walked towards the fake necklace and broke the casing, grabbing the forgery, before standing in front of Penguin. Okay, maybe my foot was a little on his outstretched hand. Crouching, I saw the look of discomfort on his face at his position.

I held up the necklace. "You're going to tell me everything you know about the person who sold this to you." I said, adding some growl into my voice in order to get this over and done with before the police get here.

He looked like he was about to protest but I put some more pressure on his hand and he winced instead. "I know you don't work with people who you don't know if you can trust."

If he looked pained before he was suffering now. "Her name is Sanity." I nodded, waiting for him to carry on, "She had just come back to Gotham, from training." That interested me.

"Training where?" I asked.

"I don't know where, but it was with the League of Assassins." Penguin cried. Is that so? But Penguin continued. "She came to Gotham to complete her plan."

"And what plan would that be?"

"I'd let her complete it if I were you..." He said not answering my question and this annoyed me more that I was starting to push down my foot more on his foot as I asked,

"Why's that." Letting my attitude show in my voice.

"She plans to kill her father," Groaning at the lack of information, he quickly added, "The Joker."

I hear cackling in my ears and see a blooded crowbar in my vision, feeling a slight betrayal at not being told this from the start. Before something snapped me out of my senses.

Movement.

Up on the catwalks. it seems like no time at all before a hooded figure with a face mask and a sword landed in front if me.

What was she doing here?

"I can explain." Is all Ryu said before gesturing for me to follow her.

I was angry and I wanted answers so I followed her lead as we exited the warehouse.

Before that though I left and anonymous tip with GCPD.

They should be damn proud I didn't kill anyone.
