Cassandra Cain's Point of View

I was on patrol with Damian and it was clear he was angry with not being allowed to patrol on his own. He had such a struggle when he first came to Gotham and had to earn the trust he has now, and he had to try harder than the rest of us.

His entire body language screamed anger and I knew that it was my job to decide how much he needed to know but, I really couldn't... I do after all know more than the others do about this and if my thoughts are true...

A cry of pain snapped me out of my thoughts and I look down at the streets in time to see Damian jump up and knock the semi-automatic out of one guys hands and hit him around the head with it. Only to turn the gun around and shoot a runner with it. He then looked down at the guy who had screamed earlier, who was trying to crawl away from the youngest Robin.

Finally he stalked over to him and pushed him with his foot so he rolled over onto his back. Now I could see the source of the man's pain, it was a small knife that had been lodged into his thigh.

"You and your friends were talking about a bank robbery, were you not?" Damian asked playfully.

"I don't 'ave t' tell you shi..." His voice was cut off with a scream as Damian pulled the knife from his leg.

"That was a wrong answer." Damian said twirling the knife in his hand. "Where to put this next..." He continued when there was no answer.

"Okay. Okay. Yes. Some guys were going to do a job at the bank Moth tried to do two weeks ago," the guy on the floor gave in. "T' show 'im how it's done."

Damian put the knife away and walked closer to the guy, before gripping him by the hair and smashing his head into the ground. He then used the zip ties to bundle them all together.

When he was done I jumped down speaking, "You didn't have to be so harsh on them..."

"Then why didn't you stop me?" He shot back.

"You were angry. You needed an outlet. You'd get upset if you used Nightwing when you got back. He probably would be too."

"Of course I'm angry. I don't need a babysitter!" He said as we swung up into the air moving towards the bank.

"It was me or Steph," I pointed out when we were on a nearby roof top and I was sure we were alone.

"I would've preferred Brown." He countered.

"You would have tricked her and then escaped." I said neglecting to keep the smile out of my voice.

Huffing he said, "That's the point."

I laughed as we made our way into the bank. There were 3 guys on the catwalks, 2 keeping watch at the door that leads to the vault, and 4 others doing rounds. I motioned for Damian to grapple up, we needed to get the guys on the catwalks first. He nodded and grappled onto a gargoyle above the head of one of the guys on the catwalks. Then I climbed the ladder taking out one of the guys by flinging him over the edge. He startled slightly but the guy Damian had strung upside down under the gargoyle he was on screamed louder. That caught their attention.

"Get me down from here!" The guy screamed as Damian grappled onto another gargoyle.

When the other guy on the catwalk had gone to help along with one of the guys doing rounds. I got out a Batarang and threw it towards the rope, the unconscious guy was immediately dropped and the guy trying to help him down became a victim of gravity.

3 down 6 to go.

The other guy that was there for his aid was now shooting the the direction I was in, but I grappled away in time, only to get a clear view of Damian silently taking the guy down, before jumping over the edge of the catwalk and kicking into another guy taking him down, then sliding into the grates in the floor.

4 left.

I took out one of the guys that were doing rounds with a swift kick to the jaw. Then I grabbed a stapler off one of the desks and threw it across the room to the other guy, knocking him back enough for him to end up crashing his head into the wall and falling unconscious against it.

At that moment Damian jumped right out of the grates and run towards the two guarding the door, taking them by surprise he ran up to one of them taking his gun from his hands. Using that guys chest as a springboard and flipping over the other, landing in a crouch and spinning around knocking the guy to his knees. Finally, he punched Mr. Springboard in the stomach and smashed both their heads together.

Room cleared.

We both walked into the vault to find 5 guys, all of them too busy putting loose bills into bags to notice our entrance. Eventually, one of them let out an "Oh, crap!" That caused the others to stiffen and look up.

Wasting no time I run up to two of the guys that were close together and jumped up, wrapping my legs around one guys neck and my arms around the other taking them both to the floor, before jumping to my feet and using a nearby table as a pummel horse and split kicking another, causing him to go down too. One of the guys recovered and I ducked taking the opportunity to smash my knee into the head of one of the other two into the floor.

Out of the corner of my eye I could see Damian knock another in to the floor unconscious.

I turned back to the other two of mine. One started to running towards the gun on the other side of the room, I slid across the floor to him and kicked out his shins before gripping his hair and smashing his head, face first into the floor. I heard the click of a switch blade and turned towards the other guy. He came at me and I dodged twice before grabbing his wrist swinging one of my legs up to wrap over his shoulder and around his neck, forcing him down. Then I broke his arm in three places before hitting his arm against the floor so that he would release the switch blade. Once he did I was on him in seconds, only taking a second to see Damian finishing of the final guy before I tightened my hand around his neck until he passed out from lack of oxygen.

We made sure all of the would-be bank robbers were tied up before leaving a tip with GCPD and grappling to a nearby rooftop to wait for the police.

"You know they didn't put you with me because they didn't trust you," I said breaking the silence finally knowing what to tell him. "They did it because the case involves Joker and quite possibly the League of Assassins," I saw hope flicker on his face and I knew my assumptions were correct. "They last time they teamed up a Robin died."

He nodded, "I understand."

"By the way you need to keep the whole League of Assassins thing to yourself, only RedHood and I know." Damian laughed and gave an evil smile. I could tell now that he was feeling better about the situation. I looked out to see the red and blue lights of police cars get closer and closer.
