SEASON 6 EPISODE 5

Jules laid on Robby's bottom bunk of their bunk bed and watched as Hawk looked in her mirror, making sure his mohawk was straight and even.

She had been staring at him for the past five minutes, but he hadn't noticed. She kept thinking about how weird he's been whenever Demetri brings up MIT since the frat party; he pales, gets really tense, and won't look anyone in the eyes.

Once Hawk knew his mohawk was all good, he finally looked past his own reflection and saw Jules watching him from the bed. He couldn't hold back his smile and slowly turned around to face her. "And what are you looking at, Sunshine?"

He walked towards her as Jules smiled, her cheeks pinking up at the old nickname. It was so stupid but god did she love it.

"Just thinking about something." Jules muttered as Hawk stood right in front of her on the edge of the bed. He hummed a small "mhm?" as he leaned down to kiss her. When they pulled away, he kept his face close to hers. "What are you thinking about?'

Jules licked her lips and slid off the bed to sit on the floor. Hawk followed after her, his shoulder and knee knocking into hers from how close he sat next to her.

"I've just noticed for the past couple weeks..." Jules looked to the ground and shrugged sheepishly. "You've been really off whenever Demetri brings up MIT?" Jules looked to Eli just as he turned to the floor guiltily.

Jules closed her eyes and shook her head. She sighed as she looked away from her boyfriend. "You don't have to tell me, I jus—" "I didn't apply to MIT." Eli blurted, interrupting Jules.

She looked at Eli with wide eyes and watched as he pulled his knees into his chest. Julianna's brows furrowed. "What?"

Hawk turned to Jules nervously but struggled to look into her eyes as he fidgeted with his hands. "After the frat party... I realized there's a whole world out there. I've been thinking about MIT since I was 5, I never even looked at other schools." Hawk admitted, shrugging defensively.

He finally looked into Julianna's eyes and moved his whole body to face her. "I'm still thinking about MIT." He grabbed her hands and pulled them onto his lap as he leaned a little closer to her. "I want to be somewhere close to you." He opened and closed his mouth, shaking his head. "I just... don't know where that is yet."

Jules smiled at Hawk. Slowly, she nodded her head and squeezed his hands. "I have something to show you." Jules whispered, making Eli turn back to her.

He watched her as she let go of his hands and twisted around to her nightstand beside the bed. She opened the top drawer and pulled out a handful of college brochures held together by a rubber band.

Hawks eyebrows furrowed as Jules turned back to face him. She handed him the pile of brochures and slowly, he took them from her hands and looked down at them carefully.

"I noticed how you looked at some of the booths at the college fair. I decided to grab them for you just in case." Jules said as Hawk took the rubber band off of the stack of brochures and started to flip through them. Every single one was one that he thought were really cool at the fair. Jules didn't miss a single one.

"It's okay if it turns out MIT isn't for you and it's okay if it is." Jules told Eli. He looked up at Jules with wide eyes, filled with a look that could really only be described as admiration. Jules, who had been looking down at all of the brochures she picked out for Eli, looked up at him and smiled. "I just want you to be somewhere where you're happy."

Eli stared at Jules as a warmth spread through his chest, grateful for having someone like her in his life. Grateful for having her in his life.

Without saying anything, Eli leaned over and wrapped his arms around Jules, pulling her into a tight hug. She laughed, the hug catching her by surprise. She returned the hug, resting her head against his shoulder.

"Thank you." He murmured into her hair, the words barely audible but Jules could hear him and she smiled into his shoulder.

Hawk pulled away from the hug and leaned in to press his lips to hers. Jules moved one of her hands to cup Eli's cheek, smiling into the kiss. She moved back to pull away but his lips followed hers.

Hawk's hands trialed down Julianna's sides and once he had a good hold on her waist, he pulled her onto his lap. Jules landed straddled on top of Hawk and Jules let out a shocked laugh before Eli started to kiss her again.

His hands fell onto her thighs, toying with the end of her dress. "You're so amazing." He muttered through the kiss and when he felt the ends of Julianna's lips tug, he held back a smirk knowing he made her smile.

"Hey, you two! Hurry up! We've got to go!" Johnny yelled from the living room.

Hawk groaned as Jules pulled her lips away from his. She laughed at the frown on his face before she glanced toward the door, then back at Hawk. "Guess we better not keep him waiting." She whispered, knowing if they made her dad wait any longer, he'd just barge in.

Hawk groaned, but nodded in agreement. "Yeah, let's not make him mad." He muttered, his voice raspy in disappointment.

Jules climbed off of Eli's lap and held her hand out to help him up.

Even though he didn't need the help, Eli grabbed Julianna's hands and let her help him up. Once he was standing, Jules smiled up at her boyfriend. "Now, let's get going. We've got a baby shower to get to."

...

Jules was under the impression that you had to wear the color you thought the gender would be when you go to a baby shower so she wore a pink dress. But when she, her dad, and Eli, who was wearing a pink shirt as well, and saw everyone wearing regular clothes, Jules was a little embarrassed.

Her and Eli were currently crowding the snack table, Jules kept asking Carmen if she needed any help setting up, but woman said she was okay.

Hawk grabbed a handful of pretzels and watched as Sam and Tory lifted a bouquet of flowers on the other side of the table.

"I don't think I'm ever gonna get used to that." Robby chuckled from behind Jules and Hawk, making the two turn their heads and watch as he and Miguel walked towards them.

Jules laughed, making the two boys turn to her. "Trust me, I got used to this." Jules rose her hand and pointed between them. Miguel and Robby turned to each other before looking back to Jules, who gave them a small smile. "You'll be fine."

Miguel had a taunting smile towards Jules, looking at his mom across the room before looking back to the blonde. "So what are you hoping for?" He asked with a big smile. Jules opened her mouth to speak, but before she could, Robby spoke up. "She hasn't shut up about wanting a sister since we were little."

Jules rolled her eyes, holding back her smile. Robby turned to Hawk and nodded his head to him. "What about you, man? What do you think the baby is?"

Hawk's eyebrows furrowed together as he smiled. He looked down at his outfit before he looked back up at Robby. "Isn't obvious?" He asked, making Robby and Miguel looked Hawk up and down.

"Um... no." Miguel said, making Hawk's smile drop.

"You have a blue mohawk, a pink shirt, and blue jeans. I'm kinda thrown." Robby muttered.

Hawk opened and closed his mouth. He grabbed the edge of his shirt and tugged it a little. "A girl! Hello?" He yelled and before anyone else could respond, a loud boom from the other room made everyone jump.

Jules nervously wrapped her arms around one of Hawk's and slowly crept forward to see what the noise was, pulling Hawk with her.

Slowly, her dad walked into the room, his white t-shirt and flannel now covered in a pink powder. Carmen groaned at the sight of the man. "The package came early.." Carmen muttered and Jules slowly started to smile, her eyes practically sparkling in excitement. Eli moved around to wrap his arms around Julianna's waist from behind and rest his chin on her shoulder.

Jules watched as her father, who was close to tears, opened his arms to Carmen with a big smile. "I guess it's a girl." He said and Carmen immediately pulled Johnny into a hug. "I can't wait to meet her." Carmen cheered before she pulled away from the hug and cupped Johnny's face. "And for her to meet her dad."

As soon as Johnny turned to Jules and Robby, Julianna let out a happy cheer and ran towards her dad and Carmen. "Thank God! I couldn't be outnumbered much longer." She yelled, pulling Carmen into a hug. Carmen laughed at the girls words, bringing her hand up to hold the girls head and kiss her hairline.

When they pulled away, Jules turned to her dad, who was letting go of his hug with Robby. "I'm gonna have a little sister!" She cheered, running to her dad and pulling him in a hug. Johnny lifted Jules off the ground, his happy laugh making Jules shake. "You're gonna be a girl sister!" He cheered, putting Jules down.

He turned to Miguel and Robby watching him with big smiles and he squinted. "Eh... you two are already girl brothers." He said and Jules turned to the boys, closing her eyes and sticking her tongue out childishly.

While her eyes were closed, Miguel and Robby ran at her, pulling her into a group hug. Jules, not seeing the boys run at her, yelped at the hug but slowly started to laugh and hug them back.

"Where's Daniel?" Amanda asked, making the three pull away from their hug and look around the room for the man.

Slowly, Daniel walked into the room covered completely in pink. Jules brought her hand up to her mouth and bit her fist to hide her laugh. As the whole room tried to hide their giggles, Hawk walked up to stand beside Jules.

"I told him not to move." Johnny laughed out as Jules walked behind Eli and hid her smile in his shoulder. Daniel held back his own laugh, shaking his head. "I'm too old for this shit."

...

Jules, Lexi, Eli, Chris, Nate, and Kenny all stood in circle during karate, stretching while they waited for one of their senseis to call them up to spar.

While Hawk retold the story of Johnny and Carmens baby shower, Lexi looked to her side and watched Sam and Tory struggle to fight each other, both girls throwing weak punches and kicks to the other.

"What is happening over there?" Lexi asked, catching Julianna's attention. Jules looked to see what Lexi was talking about and let out a small laugh. "Oh, Sam and Tory? I stopped watching them fight an hour ago. It's hard to watch." Jules muttered, cringing at their fight and her dad's aggravation.

"All right, tomorrow's the big day. Finally gonna find out which country's hosting the Sekai Takai." Eli said, making Jules and Lexi turn their attention back to the group.

"Germany would be cool. My dad's getting stationed there next month." Kenny said and Jules smiled as Hawk nodded his head. "Sick."

"My money's on Taiwan. Gonna get my Din Tai Fung on." Chris said, happy dancing at the thought of the food. Jules, Nate, and Lexi all looked at Chris with confused expressions.

"There's a Din Tai Fung in Glendale." Nate said and Jules crossed her arms.

"And Anaheim." She said, Chris's eyebrows shooting up.

"And Arcadia." Lexi added, making Chris's jaw drop completely.

"Wait, word?" He asked, looking between the three in shock. When all of them nodded their heads, he gave them a nervous smile. "You guys down to go?"

Jules chuckled, rolling her eyes. Just before she could open her mouth, her dad yelling stopped her.

"Lee! Call your dad! Tell him you're having people over tonight!" Johnny yelled from the entrance of the dojo. Jules turned to her dad just as he looked at her and Lexi.

"Jules and Lexi!" He screamed, making Lexi turn to him from next to Julianna. "Pack your bags! You girls are having a sleepover!"

Jules looked at her dad with furrowed eyebrows as he walked into the home. Slowly, she turned to Lexi, who looked just as confused as her. "I don't trust him but sleepover!" Jules cheered, pulling Lexi and Devon, who walked over to the group, into a hug.

...

After practice, Johnny, Robby, Miguel, and Jules headed home. Jules started to pack her bag while Robby sat on his bunk of the bed, yelling different things for her to not forget to pack which she actually found really helpful.

When she walked out of her room and saw her dad in the living room with his own duffel bag packed and two sleeping bags, she was confused. But Jules didn't bring any of it up until after they packed up the car.

On the drive to Lexi's, Jules looked to her dad. "So... why did you pack a bag?"

Johnny smiled, keeping his eyes on the road. "I'm sleeping over with you. Duh!" He said as if it was obvious. Jules side eyed her father. "You do know that just because my house is the designated sleepover house, does not mean you are invited to the sleepovers, right?"

Johnny rolled his eyes. "I know that. I'm only going tonight to make sure that this sleepover doesn't get anyone killed..." He said nervously and Jules whipped her head around to face her father.

"What the hell does that mean?" Jules asked before she noticed the guilty look on his face. Slowly, the girls face dropped. "What are you scheming...?"

Johnny sighed, pulling into Lexi's driveway. "Look, when I was in high school, Ali would tell me all about her sleepovers. They would end with at least three girls uninvited to the next one. Figured with this sleepover, we can get those two to be enemies again." He looked around the home and when he didn't see Lexi walking out, he laid his hand on the horn for about five seconds.

He let go of the horn and Jules looked at her dad like he was crazy. "You can possibly think that's a good idea." She said and Johnny looked at Jules with furrowed eyebrows. "It's not?"

As Lexi walked out of her home and to the car, Jules rolled her eyes and pulled her phone out of her pocket to text Eli. Lexi opened the backseat door and smiled at the Lawrence's.

"Okay! I have snacks, face masks, movies..." Lexi's words slowed when she noticed Johnny's bag in the seat beside her as she climbed in. She closed the car door and leaned forward so she was leaning over the center console and turned to Jules.

"Why did he pack a bag?" Lexi asked, earning a big smile from Johnny and an eye roll from Jules.

...

Johnny, Jules, and Lexi got to Devon's thirty minutes before the time they told Sam and Tory to arrive so they would have time to help Devon set up and fill her in on Johnny's plan.

Johnny's plan that Jules thought was stupid.

Just as they finished setting up, a loud knock from Devon's front door made the younger girl squeal in excitement.

"I'll get it!" She yelled happily, running up the stairs. Jules and Lexi watched her go with small smiles.

"That's cute." Jules said, turning to face Lexi, remembering all the times she'd get excited whenever Lexi texted her that she was at her house for their sleepovers.

Lexi watched where the girl just was with the same smile, nodding her head. "Yeah, it sucks she didn't have any girl friends to have sleepovers with before." She turned to Jules and gave her a small frown.

Jules smiled at Lexi, wrapping an arm around the shorter girls shoulders. "We're just gonna have to make her first sleepover one she'll never forget."

Just then, Devon led Sam and Tory into her basement. Johnny raised his hands to show off the room. "Welcome to Miyagi-Do After Dark." He yelled and Sam frowned, holding ber bag a little tighter.

"Don't call it that." She said and Johnny huffed, pursing his lips as he thought of a new name.

"Miyagi-Do Nights?"

Tory immediately shook her head. "No."

"Dark Night?" Johnny asked and Jules squinted. "Like the Heath Ledger movie?" She asked and Johnny whipped his head to face Jules, sending her a glare that screamed "shut up."

Tory looked around the basement, quickly noticing the food, games, and sleeping bags. She turned back to Johnny and held back a laugh. "Wait. Is this a slumber party?" She asked and Lexi let out an excited squeal.

"We are so back, Tor!" Lexi cheer, remembering the sleepovers she, Tory, and Jules used to have back when they were all in Cobra Kai.

Jules had the same big smile on her face, doing a small excited jump in place. "It'll be just like when we were all in Cobra Kai except..." Julianna's smile faltered a little into an awkward one. "This sleepover won't involve you two consoling me after me and Hawks breakup."

Tory gave the two girls soft smiles. She definitely missed having the them around and she definitely missed their sleepovers.

Devon ran over, holding a basket filled with different nail polishes. "I've never had a slumber party before. I didn't know what color nail polish you guys like so... I just got them all." Devon said, jumping in excitement with Jules.

"Since you two are friends now, we can have a girls' night." Lexi said and Jules gave the two a forced smile, side eyeing Johnny standing beside her.

"Plus my dad." She muttered and Johnny whipped his head to her with an offended glare. He turned back to Sam and Tory, throwing his arms out defensively.

"I'm a girl dad!" Johnny yelled before he pointed to Jules and Lexi beside him. "I hosted these twos slumber parties for the last..." He stopped and turned to Jules and Lexi with furrowed eyebrows. "What? Eleven years?" He asked and both girls nodded.

Johnny turned back to Sam and Tory, nodding his head. "Eleven years. I brought cookies and tampons and everything."

As Sam and Tory cringed, Jules huffed. "Seventeen years of this." She said, gesturing to her dad as Lexi walked towards the snack table with Devon.

Johnny ignored his daughter and clapped to get the girls excited. "Now, come on. Grab a sleeping bag." He said before his eyes widened and he quickly pointed to Sam and Tory. "But the Mr. T one's mine and the Spiderman one is Jules's so back off." He warned.

As Sam and Tory walked away, Jules looked up to her dad and sighed. "Are you sure this will work? I mean... I know you said Ali's slumber parties always had drama but... nothings really happened at one of my sleepovers. The only people that do get talked bad about are not in the room." Jules said, crossing her arms over her chest.

Sure, her sleepovers only ever consisted of her, Lexi, Moon, and sometimes Sam or Yasmine, but they never had any drama within the group. But Lexi and Yasmine were always quick to start talking about people not at the sleepover.

Johnny looked to the back room where Sam, Tory, Lexi, and Devon all talked and laughed by the snack table before he turned back to Jules. "Just... trust me. I've got this."

...

After using the face masks Lexi brought and having a couple pillow fights, Devon pulled out a Ouija board and after a lot of convincing Lexi to go along with it, they started to ask questions, their one rule being no questions about the Sekai Takai.

"Will Mitch ever win the All Valley?" Tory asked and Johnny turned to the girl across the table with a scrunched face. "Who the hell's Mitch?" He asked, making all five girls squint at him.

"...Penis breath, Dad." Jules said and Johnny's eyes widened. He pushed the piece to "no", shaking his head crazily. "Nope." He muttered, making the girls laugh.

"Okay, okay. My turn." He said once they moved the piece back to the center. They all stared down at the piece, waiting for Johnny's question and for it to move.

"Does Tory want Sam to fall down a flight of stairs, breaking every single bone in her little body?" Johnny asked.

Jules turned to look at her dad with wide eyes. "Dad!" Jules scolded while Tory looked at him with a confused expression. "What?" She asked and Johnny turned to the girl, shrugging innocently.

"Well, let's see what it says." He muttered and they all turned to the piece. Johnny tried to push the piece to "yes" but Jules, Lexi, and Tory all tried to stop him. Johnny cursed under his breath and used his second hand to push the piece. He let out a fake wince when the piece landed on "yes" and he looked up to Sam, shaking his head.

"There it is. That's ugly." He said, ignoring everyone's glares. He instead, gave them a big smile. "Does anyone want to go?"

Jules, not trusting her dad any longer, opened her mouth to to volunteer, but her dad was too quick. "No? Alright, I'll ask another." He said, making Jules huff.

They moved the piece to the center and Jules watched her dad with an expressionless face.

"If Sam could describe Tory in one word, what would it be?" Johnny asked and immediately he started to move the piece.

B... I... T...

Before the word could finish, all the girls let go of the piece and Tory and Sam scoffed at the man and walked away from the table.

Johnny watched them go with a dropped jaw, his hands out by his side defensively. "What? It could've said bitchin!" He yelled after them.

Jules turned back to her dad and placed her hand on the piece. "Is my dad trying way too hard?" She asked, staring at Johnny.

At her words, Lexi and Devon placed their hands on the ouija piece and at the same time, the three girls moved it to "YES", all of them keeping their eyes on Johnny.

...

As much as Johnny hated it, the slumber party was actually going really well. Jules really missed Tory and getting to have a sleepover with her again made her happy, especially now that she could have Sam there too.

Sam, Tory, Jules and Lexi were sprawled out on Devon's couch, Jules curled up into Lexi's side as the two of them watched TikToks on Lexi's phone while Sam and Tory scrolled through their on phones. Every now and then one of them would show the others a TikTok but besides that, they were all pretty quiet.

When Sam's phone started to ring, all heads turned to see who was calling her. Jules and Lexi's eyes widened while Tory's squinted when they saw Robby's name pop up.

"Why is Robby calling you?" Tory asked as Jules and Lexi turned to each other. "Oh my God!" Lexi mouthed, not wanting either girls to hear them. They turned to looked at Johnny, who was with Devon at the snack table. He had a big smirk on his face as he watched Sam and Tory, Robby's phone in his hand.

Jules and Lexi turned back to each other, Jules trying to hold back a laugh from shock. "That's really fucking smart though." She whispered as Sam shrugged at Tory's question.

"I don't know. Probably just a butt dial." She responded, declining Robby's call and going back to TikTok as if nothing happened.

Jules noticed Tory still watch Sam carefully, part of her not trusting her.

Suddenly, Tory's phone beeped and when she read the text she got, she let out a confused laugh and shook her head. "What?" She muttered under her breath, making the three girls turn to her.

"What is it?" Sam asked, trying to read the screen from over Tory's shoulder. Tory looked to Sam, her eyebrows furrowed. "It's a text from Jules."

Sam, Tory, and Lexi all turned to Jules. The Lawrence girl looked at Tory with wide eyes and a smile, starting to laugh herself as she shook her head. "Girl, I'm right here." She laughed out and Tory started to realize she never even saw Jules pull out her phone in the past two minutes.

"What does it say?" Lexi asked. Tory looked back at the phone, starting to get aggravated. "Hola, Mamcita. How about you drop the zero and get with the hero?"

Jules shut her eyes at her dad's failed attempt to get Tory and Sam to hate each other and Lexi had to hold back her laugh, covering her mouth with her hand to hide her giggles.

Tory and Sam turned to Jules and Lexi, glares on their faces that made Jules and Lexi straighten up. "Is he doing what I think he's doing?" Tory asked Jules and even though Tory wasn't specific, Jules knew what the girl was talking about and nodded her head.

All four of the girls stood up and walked towards Johnny and Devon. As soon as he saw the girls coming towards him, he hid the two phones behind his back and smiled at the girls. "Hey, hey! What's going on?"

"What's behind your back?" Tory asked. Johnny's eyebrows furrowed and he shook his head.

"My hands. Nothing. Just my hands." He said and Jules rolled her eyes. Sam started to call Jules and after a couple seconds, a ringing could be heard from behind Johnny.

The man let out a nervous laugh, leaning towards Devon but keeping his eyes on the four girls in front of him. "Lee, your phone is ringing."

Tory pulled out her phone and started to call Robby. With now two phones behind Johnny, the man started to practically shake in nervousness. "Oh, wow, multiple lines. I didn't know you were such a social butterfly."

Sam and Tory hung up their calls and glared at Johnny. "You're catfishing us." Tory snapped and Johnny just squinted at her.

"I don't know what that is, but catfish is gross." Johnny said. Jules rolled her eyes, walking up to her dad and taking the phones out from behind his back.

She pushed Robby's phone into her back pocket and raised her phone up to the man's vision. "You used the wrong phone by the way."

Johnny pursed his lips and groaned. "I knew it was weird that Miguel had you and Hawk as his lockscreen." He muttered, only pissing Sam and Tory off more.

"You've been messing with us all night! Now you're trying to get us to start fighting." Sam yelled and Devon shook her head, a pleading look in her eyes.

"We just wanted to help you get your edge back so things can go back to the way they used to be." Devin said and Tory's eyebrows raised. "You think things were better when we hated each other's guts?" She asked, pointing between her and Sam.

"No. Maybe just south of that, like a really strong dislike." Johnny said and Sam rolled her eyes. "I thought you were Miyagi-Do now."

"I am Miyagi-Do! Look, we're inside with pillows, chocolates, and air conditioning." Johnny said, gesturing around Devon's basement. Jules crossed her arms over her chest and raised her eyebrows sarcastically. "And tampons apparently." She muttered under her breath.

Sam sighed, shaking her head as she pulled out her phone. "I'm calling an Uber." She grumbled.

When Tory muttered a "same," Jules and Lexi noticed Devon's face drop. Both of the girls felt bad for her. She didn't deserve this as a first sleepover.

When Tory and Sam started to walked towards the stairs to leave the basement, Devon almost had tears in her eyes. "Wait, guys." She called out after them but neither girls turned around.

Once they were gone, Jules, Lexi, and Devon all looked to Johnny. The man huffed under his breath and shook his head. "I can't believe that didn't work." He muttered to himself and Jules scoffed out a laugh.

"I'm shocked." She shot back sarcastically.

Johnny wouldn't look any of the three girls in the eyes as he shook his head. "Let's just clean up, yeah?"

All four of them each started to grab their own trash bag and throw away all the face mask, cucumber pieces and overall trash off the floor. Once they got all the trash, they started heading towards the front lawn were Devon's trash bins were.

As soon as Johnny opened the door though, they all froze, watching as Sam and Tory argued on the sidewalk.

"You attacked me at school!"

"You attacked me at prom!"

Johnny smiled, leaning towards Jules, practically shaking in excitement. "It's happening." He muttered and Jules, keeping her eyes on Sam and Tory, rose her hand up to her dad's face and shushed him.

"I tried to make things right! I went to Jules and even when it didn't involve you, you attacked me again!" Tory yelled and Johnny dropped the trash bag he was holding and grabbed onto Julianna's shoulders, shaking her.

"Here we go..." He sang and Lexi slowly turned to him and glared. "Can you at least try to hide your excitement?"

"The first time we ever met, you accused me of stealing your mom's wallet. And even after you learned that it wasn't me you never apologized. I was already the new kid with like... two friends and then as soon as I connected with someone, you had to come in and ruin that." Tory spat and Jules watched as Sam slumped.

"You're right. I'm sorry." Sam said and Johnny groaned.

"Oh, come on!"

After that, the four couldn't hear Sam and Tory's words after that but when they hugged, Johnny practically winced, dropping his head onto his daughter's shoulder. "No! Could this night get any worse?" He whined and Jules laughed.

She shook her shoulder so her dad would remove his head and she smiled to him. "Oh, hush." She muttered, starting to walk down the driveway and towards Sam and Tory, Lexi trailing behind her.

"Hey..." Jules said as Sam and Tory pulled away from their hug. "You guys okay?" Jules asked, watching the two girls nervously.

Tory, without saying any words, pulled Jules and Lexi into a hug, hiding her face into Julianna's shoulder. "Oh!" Jules muttered, not expecting the hug.

"I missed you guys so much!" Tory cried and Julianna's heart melted. She and Lexi returned the hug and held her tighter. "We missed you too." Lexi said, rubbing Tory's back comfortingly. Jules looked past Tory's shoulder to Sam, who was standing there watching the three of them hug awkwardly.

When they pulled out of their hug, Jules moved to grab Tory's hands and smiled at the two girls. "I don't know about you guys, but I could definitely get my nails done. I say we go back in and give Devon a slumber party she'll never forget." Jules said and when Sam and Tory both laughed and nodded their heads, the four girls ran back towards the home.

...

The next day, they were back at Miyagi-Do and Tory and Sam were actually fighting.

Jules and Johnny watched the two girls with proud smiles, both of them having their arms crossed over their chests and nodding their heads proudly.

"Now, that's what I'm talking about! What the hell got into them?" Johnny asked, turning to face Jules. The girl smiled, keeping her eyes on the fight. "I guess their breakthrough last night took care of whatever was holding them back. It's all out in the open now." Jules said before she finally turned to her dad.

"I've gotta admit, you have pretty good plans. Sometimes." She said, elbowing her dad in his side. The man let out a content sigh and nodded his head. "Like I always say, girls are easy."

Julianna's smile dropped and she shook her head.

"Hey, everybody. Gather around!" Hawk yelled, running towards the sparring deck Sam and Tory were fighting on. The two girls hopped off the deck as Jules and Johnny walked around so they were with the rest of the crowd.

"The announcement just came out." Hawk said as he looked around at all the students coming towards him. When he saw Jules, he reached out and grabbed her hand, pulling her to stand beside him. He wrapped her hand that he was holding around his waist and smiled at his team. "All right. Who's ready to find out where we're going for the Sekai Taikai?"

As all of the teens cheered, Hawk pressed play on the video.

"Congratulations on your admission to the Sekai Takai. We're excited to finally announce the host for this year's competition. Martial Arts has always had a rich history in the East. And the Sekai Taki has held many tournaments throughout Asia."

Jules looked to Chris, laughing a the big smile on his face as he cheered to himself. "Soup dumplings, baby."

"But in recent years, European teams have shaken up the competitive landscape, bringing a whole new style to the event."

Kenny hit Lexi's arm beside him, nodding his head excitedly. "I'm feeling Germany." He said and Jules hugged into Hawk tighter, the suspense eating her alive.

"Within that region, there's one nation that has continued to stand tall amongst the pack for its growth and dominance in both junior and senior competitions. It gives me great pleasure to announce this years Sekai Taikai will be held in Barcelona, Spain."

Julianna's jaw dropped as everyone around her started to gasp and cheer. "Sick!" Hawk yelled, looking down at Jules in excitement. Since he was holding the iPad, he didn't get to grab onto her to celebrate so instead, he just leaned closer to her.

"As you prepare for your journey, we'll also present the rules of registration. We intend to test your dojo's quality, not quantity, and each dojo must select eight fighters to compete." The man on the screen, Gunther, said and everyones faces fell.

Jules looked up at Hawk with wide eyes just as he looked down to her with furrowed eyebrows. "Wait, what?" Hawk asked as Jules looked to Lexi. "Eight?" Jules whispered.

Everyone slowly started to back away from each other, almost as if they did't trust the people they were standing with anymore. Jules moved a little closer to Hawk and clung onto his shirt nervously.

"These eight fighters will participate in team events, with one boy and one girl serving as captains to enter into individual competitions, which will be televised around the world. We wish a hearty bona sort to all the competitors, and we look forward to seeing you in Barcelona."

Then, the video ended. The backyard was silent as Hawk turned off the iPad and placed it on the sparring deck behind him.

"What exactly does that mean?" Robby asked as Hawk wrapped his arm around Julianna's shoulder. Miguel looked to Jules for a second before looking to Robby beside him. "It means we don't all get to go."
