Haha.... I am so sorry for the irregular updates again... I'm feeling rather depressed at the moment, so I can barely get myself out of bed, and when I do so, then I'd rather doodle in my sketchbook than work digitally, since that's less pressuring for my anxiety.
And wattpad has a huge problem with uploading pictures I took with my tablet again, so the sketchbook content will indeed come along as soon as that's possible again..

Either way, I'm feeling a bit better again, so here's another chapter with a dtiys!

Surprisingly it's not one from Redsy (even though that will come sometime soon again, no worries >w<), but from lorenaxangelinaxart on instagram...
You know how you can pay instagram money, for them to promote your post to other people? Either way, she apparently did that and instagram slapped her diys into my face. And even though the design was pretty simple, I found it incredibly intruiging and couldn't help but draw it myself ^-^

So yeah... here's the original piece:

So, essentially I wanted to keep everything more or less the same, except genderbent... because drawing women just isn't as much fun for me ^-^"
The character themselves had this trendy-witch vibe going on, which I did indeed want to capture myself.

I started off with a rough sketch, which I didn't export and later on deleted.... yep, 100% idiot-energy over here xD (but I recorded everything so you could theoretically see everything as soon as the speedpaint is out.. hmm...)

Either way, lineart got made on top and this is how it looks:

I had the feeling, that the pose looked a bit very boring when I kept it with the original, so I threw a hand in there, to make it a bit more natural and asymmetrical.

Colour-wise I wanted to keep it as similar as possible, mimicing that layered style through giving the sleeves a different colour to the shirts body. I also decided to have his hair grown out a bit, because I just fancied doing so, and make his skin a bit more tanned, since that had more contrast and I already ruined the pastel aesthetic of angelinas artwork >w<

On the background front, I just threw some circles and sparkles in there... nothing all that special, just keepin it simple

The shading process was quite some fun, since I did my usual 2 shading and 1 highlight layer thing, except, that I later on went in with some extra layers with the airbrush to push the threedimensionality, as well as some smaller brushes on luminosity to add some light details, creating the illusion of me having put a lot of time and effort into this thing (The entire thing took me 2 hours and 28 minutes, including getting distracting on pinterest and chatting on discord whilst drawing it, soo... ye..)

Honestly, I'm really happy with his eyecolour and the jewellry... idk why but I usually struggle a bit with those areas when it comes to colour accuracy and overly highlighting the area ^-^"

I also am really happy with the gradient in the hair, since I usually need to go back in in the end to fix that up, since my shading has the tendency to completely abolish colour details in the hair.

(and we just.. we won't mention the wrong anatomy when it comes to the torso.... I only realised way too late and then already was too far in to make any changes without needing to completely redo the shirt)
