GUYS GUYS GUYS.

I JUST NOW FINISHED A DRAWING AND AM WRITING THE WATTY CHAPTER DIRECTLY AFTER EXPORTING IT. This never happens.... this has literally never happened in any of my three prior artbooks, meaning this is the first time since 2o17 I've written the chapter directly after finishing the piece...

Well, I don't know about you, but I think Jade is already of to a great start! (If we.... ignore that first chapter there (that I already unpublished) .... yeah....)

Anyways, let's get to the actual drawing, eh??
Welp, I planned on making this a nice rendered drawing of small Ru and small Ember, since I realised that I... only drew a headshot of Ember once and never drew the two together...
So here's than ancient headshot, so you kinda know what Ember looks like... I never finished the drawing, so... welp, that's just how it is.

Oh boy... I just love the dynamic between her and Ru... they're just so pure and... ah. Makes my heart melt about as much as Feredir with Maethdess or his children, or Certhadan and his dragon.

So yeah... Ember is a dragon, that started off fiting in a teacup after hatching, and the grew exponentially, being stuck in "dog-size" for quite some time, before growing into a large, beautiful creature... ah.... welp, fully grown she's about as big as.... um.....

... maybe an elefant?? Well, when Ru went to the Paladins in the first place, she was a bit larger than a horse. But in this picture, she's just still big enough to fit on Ru's lap ^-^

... I just realised that I started a sentence without finishing it... like... way back.... so I planned on making this a nice and rendered drawing of the two, but the lost motivation so it's essentially just a glorified and uncoloured sketch in the end >w<""

Here's the ugly start anyways!

As always, just rough guides, very messy, mainly shapes and placement guides... and for the sake of it, I added some more ugly details to it >w<

My main idea was Ru being all worried, having some deep talk, whilst also giving Ember some nice little chin-scratches ..... essentially the combination of adorableness and Ru's worries...

Welp, after the drawing above, I went ahead and started to refine the sketch on top... Ruindîr was a huge struggle, since I wanted to draw him in the age somewhere between these two drawings I've made last year:

.... I think I did an okay job on the face, whilst also fucking up the anatomy really bad... I'm overall not all that happy with him in this drawing, since he looks less recognizeable than I actually wanted. It wasn't a problem originally, since I would have gone over it with another line-layer on top... but since I just left it as it was, it turned out to bother me quite a bit...

Anyways, the main focus should indeed be directed towards Ember here, since she's the first full-body dragon I drew since... well this abomination here I copied off of a tutorial or pinterest picture in 2o16:

the quality is indeed terrible.... but it's a bad drawing that I didn't even properly do myself, so who cares about the quality xDD

Welp... a huuuuuuggeeeeee thanks to Mithiell for helping me out on Ember though. Like... idk what I would've done at times without her input of cat-references.. so...

And I also finally decided on what I wanted our little prince to say ^-^

Anyways. That was all my advancement over the 7. January... on the 8. I didn't do anything. And today I realised that I probably will never finish the drawing, so I just coloured the lineart, erased the places that needed to be erased... you know, make it look more presentable as a "finished" thing, you know??
(Even though some things still kinda annoy me.... like... the wrong angle of the hand and arm on the (for us) left side... I would've fixed that up, but I'm too lazy to...

So yeah... that was that then.
Even if it is only a sketch, it's an admittedly adorable sketch... so I hope you like that. I plan on drawing small Cev with his fathers dragon sometime soon, since Crona only came along, after being accepted to the Paladins.
