"They're waiting for the show to begin."

***

Jackson stood on the lacrosse field, silent and despondent. The world had changed around him, and it was bizarre. People he knew had died painfully; it resonated clearly in his mind. It was sickening to think about.

He mourned for Ethan's brother. Jackson couldn't imagine what it was like to lose your other half. Although, he knew that it was best to give his boyfriend some space to grieve. Their breakup was mutual, but Jackson was the devastated one.

In the corner of his eye, he could see a figure approaching him. They were quite a distance away, so he hoped that he could make a quick getaway.

"Hi." A female voice spoke from his right, making him jump.

He turned to find Jennifer Check, who had snuck up on him. "Oh, hey... Jennifer...?"

Of course, he wondered how she reached him in a matter of seconds, but he assumed that she was just fast. In fact, he was more drawn to her new look than anything. "I just wanted to say that I'm sorry for your profound loss."

"You mean Aidan?" sniffed Jackson. "Yeah, he was a good friend."

She shook her head. "No, I was talking about Ethan."

Jackson squinted at her, confused. "What?"

"I heard that he dumped you," Jennifer told him. "I just wanted to check that you were all right."

"No, I'm- I'm fine." He stumbled, slightly choking on his words.

Once again, Jennifer shook her head in response and raised a hand to caress his cheek. "You're hurt, just as I am."

"Did you lose someone too?" he asked.

"I was there." She stated with sorrowful eyes. Jennifer lowered her hand, acting nervous. "In fact, I'm pretty sure I was the last person to talk to Aidan. And he said to me that..." There was a noticeable hesitance that intrigued him. "No, I shouldn't say."

However, Jackson wanted to know more. "What is it? What did he say?"

"I really shouldn't. It will break your heart." Jennifer insisted as she shyly tucked a lock of hair behind her ear.

"It's okay, Jennifer. You can tell me." Jackson urged her.

Jennifer sighed. "If you really wanna know," she started, seductively biting her lip. "Aidan told me that Ethan's been hanging out with Danny recently. And when I say "hanging out", I mean they were totally making out behind your back."

Upon hearing her confession, Jackson bowed his head, feeling betrayed. "That's... That's, um..."

"I knew you'd feel this way if I told you. I just thought that you should know." She explained, pausing for a moment. "You had the right to know."

Her lies plagued his mind, clouding Jackson's judgement as he seeped further into her trap. She should have taken up acting because she was easily playing her way right into his heart.

"You know what else he said?" she piqued his interest again. Jennifer stared into his ocean-blue eyes and smiled. "He said that he always thought that you and I would make a great couple."

Immediately, Jackson scoffed in surprise. "You serious?"

She nodded. "That's what he told me. Aidan thought we were perfect for each other."

"Okay," Jackson chuckled in disbelief. "Listen, Jennifer, I think you're a nice girl and all, but-"

Nevertheless, Jennifer was persistent. She grabbed onto his arm, forcing his palm onto her chest. "Feel my heart, Jackson. I think it's broken."

He was stunned into silence as he felt her blackened heart pound inside her chest. Something about her weakened his mind and soul, making him susceptible to her strange spell. His interest in her sparked like a flame, burning bright within his heart. Jennifer was irresistible. His only desire was to kiss her right then and there. He had never wanted anything more in his entire life.

"Mine too..." responded Jackson, completely in lust with her.

Jennifer intertwined her fingers between his, smirking. "Why don't you come with me for a little while? I think it's what Aidan would have wanted."

"Yeah..."

Jackson didn't stray from her, obeying Jennifer's command without hesitance. Like she had expected, he was utterly intoxicated by her. For once, Jennifer felt powerful. It was like she could do anything and have anyone she wanted. But right now, she wanted something to eat.

She dragged him a long distance away from the school, Jackson complying each step of the way. Eventually, they found themselves in a shaded area of the forest where the sun was barely breaking through. It was the perfect place.

The moment they stopped, Jennifer pulled Jackson in for a kiss. His passion ignited instantly, the taste of her lips making him feel high. "You're so warm." He muttered as they broke away to breathe. "Why are you so warm?"

"Shh..." she uttered before kissing him again.

Jennifer shoved her tongue down his throat, but Jackson didn't care in the slightest. He was loving every moment, though he had no clue as to why. A tiny voice inside his head told him to run away as fast as he could, warning him about the imminent danger before him.

However, he pushed them aside once the pleasure arrived. This attraction to a girl he's hardly noticed was bizarre, yet he didn't have a care in the world. She was enlightening him in more ways than one.

Just then, he heard the cawing of a crow nearby. Jackson opened his eyes to see a whole row of birds watching them from the branch of a tree.  On the forest floor, several animals gathered around them in awe. It was peculiar since animals were usually afraid of humans, so why weren't they afraid of Jennifer?

"Jen-" He tried to break away, but she pulled him back in for another kiss. His attraction to her was slowly wearing off as he became more aware of the crowd surrounding them. "Jennifer!"

"What?!" she hissed, infuriated by his interruptions.

"Look." Jackson nodded in the direction of the animals.

As she glanced around at the forest flock, she smirked once more. "Oh, them." A soft giggle emerged from her mouth. "They're waiting for the show to begin."

Once again, his thoughts were brushed away the moment Jennifer began unzipping her hoodie. There wasn't even a bra underneath, just her bare chest. "Okay..."

"Do you miss Aidan?" she wondered.

He furrowed his brows, confused. "Yeah, of course."

"Well, you're going to see him really soon," Jennifer mentioned as she grabbed onto his shirt and pulled it apart. She scanned his muscles, licking her lips a little.

They stood there, half-naked. Though Jackson's infatuation was distracted by his bewilderment over what Jennifer meant. "What, you mean, like in heaven someday?"

She shook her head with a mischievous grin. "Nope."

Unexpectedly, Jackson's body was flung back by Jennifer's immense strength. He slammed against the tree behind him, his fingers clenching at the bark. His eyes widened as Jennifer's jaw widened. A row of sharp teeth appeared as she steadily approached him. He screamed as she latched onto his body and stole away his life.

Lydia and Stiles were strolling back to his jeep, holding two froyos. They were laughing together as they crossed the street. "I can't believe you said that!"

"Oh, come on, Stiles! Someone had to tell him." She admitted as Stiles retrieved his keys and unlocked the car.

They climbed inside, Lydia taking a quick scoop of her strawberry froyo and putting it in her mouth. Once Stiles switched on the ignition, the radio spoke. "And that was 'Lance & Griffin', the local band who became unlikely heroes of the tragedy in Beacon Hills last night..."

She almost choked upon hearing the band's name. Stiles didn't take any notice as he began driving. "Holy shit."

"What is it?" he asked.

"It's the band." She stated. Stiles stared at her cluelessly. "The one that was at Melody Lane when it burnt down. They're saying that they were heroes."

He scoffed, beginning to drive. "Wow, they really are fucking losers."

Lydia continued to listen intently. "Eyewitnesses say the boys helped numerous people escape the inferno, risking their own lives in the process. That's rock and roll with a conscience, ladies and gentlemen. And we have the band right here in the studio today. How are you guys holding up?"

She rolled her eyes as the voice of Donovan Lance came on. "We're maintaining, man. It's not easy, but, you know the real heroes are the people of Lantern Hills. I just hope that we can convey one-tenth of their courage and spirit... on our upcoming album."

Their lies and selfishness pained Lydia as she was forced to listen to their garbage. They did something bad to Jennifer. It's not like they dropped her home that night; she was bruised and bloody for a reason. Of course, she didn't know how to prove it, especially since Jennifer wouldn't admit what happened.

Stiles acknowledged her discomfort. "Do you want me to change the station?"

"No, it's fine. I can endure it." She told him. Lydia turned her head away, looking out the window and observing the streets of Beacon Hills.

Unexpectedly, the radio started to crackle as the annoying voice of Donovan Lance faded. She glanced back at Stiles, confused. "I said you didn't have to change it."

He squinted, responding with. "I haven't."

She was about to scold him for lying until she heard a timid cry coming from it. "P-please... someone... someone... h-help m-me..."

Lydia clutched the dashboard, the voice chilling her to the bone. Beside her, she noticed that Stiles was unaffected, blissfully driving down the road. She raised her eyebrows as she continued to listen to the voice's whimpers.

"P-please... she's killing me..."

Abruptly, a harsh roar erupted from the sound system. She could hear the voice scream out in pain, accompanied by tearing and ripping noises. Then, an uncontrollable scream emerged. Not from the radio, from Lydia's throat.

Her terror was enough to make Stiles panic. Swiftly, he pulled over to the side of the road as she continued to screech. Stiles unbuckled his seatbelt and cupped Lydia's face in his hands. "Lydia! What is it, Lydia?!"

She could not reply, yet still clutched onto Stiles as means of comfort. It was the same feeling from last night. To her, it felt like somebody had just killed her.

You know what would also work with Jennifer's Body: Buffy The Vampire Slayer. I'm just saying that because I've recently started watching it and it is really good. Even though it was created by Joss Whedon... I hate the way he wrote Natasha in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Though I'm kinda sad that there aren't as many BtVS fanfics on here. I would love to see one.

Anyway, thanks for reading. Hit 2k reads!
