Can we just appreciate the fact that right after Wally died I made an oc that was this inter dimensional being to meet Dick and be brought back to the cave for the soul purpose of bring Wally back to their dimension? Like she died straight after she did this my soul intention was for her to bring Wally back to Dick. Denial, fun for all the fandom.

EDIT: TW MAJOR CHARACTER DEATH

"Damian meet Wally," Dick announced, stopping in front of a hologram. He had his hands stretched out as though to show off the man. The man was a little older than Dick with ginger hair and freckles.

"Grayson when you said you had a boyfriend I assumed he was still alive," Damian answered glancing at the hologram. He had intended on threatening the man in question but threatening a dead man would be both silly and rude.

"Well you assumed wrong. Wally was my first and only boyfriend. He was the best there ever was," he explained with a sad smile. There was only love in his eyes and Damian could only imagine what this man could've done to earn that. A part of him wanted to know so he could get at least a quarter of that loving look. He knew Dick cared for him a lot but that look also held so much more than care. "Drake mentioned a Wallace West but did not mention he was your boyfriend," Damian stated. All he remembered the idiot saying was to not bring up the green-eyed speedster. Something about upsetting Dick when he had so much going on already. "He didn't really know we were together until I told him after Wally died. God, I wish he was here to see you," Dick said, sitting at the foot of the memorial. He could almost feel the warm sensation of Wally holding his hand. That feeling of safety he still hasn't named. It was something he wished to give to others but there was a part of him that knew that only Wally could give that feeling. "Grayson you're crying," Damian said awkwardly. He clearly wasn't comfortable seeing his brother like this. Upset over someone he didn't know but Dick must've known him so well. Dick put his hand to his cheek and laughed a little as he felt the tears on his fingertips.

"Don't mind me I just miss him a whole lot," he answered. Damian sat beside him and looked on the pedestal. There were two golden rings sitting there. They looked like wedding rings if anything. He picked them up carefully and marvelled at the intricate designs.

"We were going to get married after the invasion," the older spoke up, getting the younger's attention. He held out his hand and Damian passed the two rings to him. "Mine is the one with the robin on. Even after I retired from being Batman's sidekick he liked to think of me as his little bird. His was the one with leaves in the wind because I refused to let him have a mood ring," he chuckled.

After a few moments of watching Dick play with the rings absent-mindedly, he remarked that, "He seems very dear to you." He got a soft smile from the older as he placed the rings back.

"He was and always will be." Dick sighed. "To tell you the truth, I've never really been one for the playboy lifestyle. It's fun for a month or so then you feel the need to settle down. Of course, you've just spent the last month having one night stands so nobody sees you more than a cool Reddit post or Instagram selfie." Dick explained. "That's probably why I loved Wally so much. He didn't want me for that, he wanted me because he loved me."

"Did you have plans after you got married?" Damian asked, now intrigued by the topic.

"Oh yes. He wanted to settle down, get away from the hero business. We fought about that a lot. I guess I wasn't ready to not be a hero," Dick answered, starting to cry again.

"Would you have done it?" Damian asked.

"Give up Nightwing? Nah. We'd probably fight like cat and dog about it but he would have never made me give it up. Being a hero is how I feel good about myself and he knew that. He just wanted me to be safe like I wanted him to be safe. We just had different ideas on how to do that." They both glanced around the room at the other fallen heroes. Their life was dangerous and they could die at any time yet they continued. They always did. Bat or not, heroes would always be there. "West died a hero so, in a way, that's good," Damian muttered in an attempt to cheer Dick up.

"Better to die a hero than to live a coward," Dick continued with a warming smile.

"I think I would've liked him to an extent," Damian said.

"Why do you think that?"

"Because he made you happy by the looks of it all. In the end, that's all I've really wanted for you."

"Aww is this proof you love me baby brother?" he asked, wrapping an arm around Damian's shoulder.

"Don't call me that."

"What about little wing? Maybe baby bird?" Damian scrambled up when he got the chance.

"I have work to attend to Grayson." Dick nodded and stood up, wearing that goofy smile. "Would you like a minute alone?" he asked, sensing there was something unresolved between Dick and his fallen love.

"That'd be great Dami, thanks," Dick answered. Damian nodded and left him alone.

With a deep breath Dick picked up his wedding ring, putting it on his ring finger. "I still can't believe you convinced me to get a bird on mine," he said with a laugh. Silence was his response. Silence that made Dick want to cry. Silence that should've been filled with a light taunt of his boyfriend or even the laughter. "I know when we were together we said that if one of us were to die we'd go out and try to find someone else. Well I don't want to do that and I don't need to either. There's got to be some way you're not dead. I know you're not gone forever. For God's sake we thought Jason was gone but just yesterday he was eating all my cereal," he joked. His sad laugh echoed the walls making him feel even more lonely. "Until the day you come back these rings will be here. You better be prepared to have a big wedding like we were planning, Bruce wouldn't have it any other way." Time was ticking on and Dick had work to do. If it was up to him he'd spend every moment of his life talking to the hologram. He pulled the ring off and placed it neatly beside Wally's. "I should've done something that day. Anything to keep you alive but I know when you come back I'll spend a life time making it up to you. I love you Kid Idiot," he said, finally willing himself to leave. But he never really left that room spiritually. Spiritually he's standing beside Wally, forever holding him and looking up at those green eyes he fell in love with.

I really love this one for some odd reason
