This was bumped ahead of already written parts... Because of spacing ^-^

Kid silently cooed to himself as he eavesdropped from within the ceiling vents, the gem owner's son was absolutely adorable. The young five year old was running around enthusiastically, checking every nook and cranny for him. Well, all the ones that he could reach. Mamoru was short, like all five year old boys were supposed to be. His reach was severely limited.

"I will protect mommy's necklace!" Mamoru declared as he attempted to remove one of the floor vent covers.

"Mamoru! That's dangerous!" Mitsuki, Mamoru's mother, swiftly scooped her son up into her arms. The woman tidied up the boy's fluffy black hair while said boy protested and squirmed in her arms.

"But Kid is probably in the vents!" The boy complained, he couldn't let that thief take the necklace! It was the only thing his mom had left of his grandma! Losing the necklace would make his mom sad, he didn't want his mom to be sad!

Mitsuki huffed fondly "That doesn't mean that you can go into the vents to chase him" She gently put her son down, holding his arm to stop him from trying again "You could get lost or hurt. Kaitou Kid has more experience in the vents than you do"

Mamoru puffed out his cheeks in a pout "I can gain experonce now" He frowned "Experience" He corrected himself "I can do it"

Kid grinned as he listened to the boy's complaints, it was funny that the child had gotten the right idea of where he was. Why couldn't the inspector think of that first? Well, either way... The thief quickly checked the time, grinning. It was time for the heist to begin!

A soft puff of white smoke was used to hide his sudden emergence a few feet away from the Silent Gem, a pretty round amethyst that'd been embedded into a silver chain necklace "No fancy traps?" Kid inquired with a smile. Already knowing that the family had refused to let the police mess with their house any more than they had to.

The inspector scowled, ready to yell at the thief. Only for Mamoru to beat him to the punch. The boy boldly tore himself out of his mother's grasp and stood between Kid and the necklace, arms spread out wide "Kaitou no stealing!"

Kid paused "Huh?" Did the little boy really think that would work?

"Kaitou no stealing!"

Something in the thief's memory suddenly clicked. Oh gosh, was Mamoru really trying to do what he thought he was?

"Kaitou no stealing!"

Kid was inwardly squealing at how adorable Mamoru was acting. He tilted his hat down to better shadow his face "Well it seems as if I've been bested for today little protector" He just- How could he not play along!? To not do so would be cruel! Kid waved his cape dramatically "I'll be back tomorrow with defences to resist that power" He disappeared back into the vents with a puff of smoke.

The task force was silent, everyone was stunned. Mamoru was the one to break that stunned silence "I did it!" He spun around to face his mom, flailing excitedly as he bounced up and down "I stopped Kaitou Kid! I saved your necklace!" Mamoru ran and jumped into his mom's arms "I really did it!"

Mitsuki just smiled softly at her son, returning the hug "My little protector indeed!" She was really glad that the thief seemed to have a soft spot for young children. Mamoru would have felt so sad if Kid hadn't played along.

"Keibu" Minato, one of the task force members, gave the stunned inspector a small nudge with his elbow "Do you think that's how the Kid Killer always gets the gems back?" Conan was a young child just like Mamoru.

Ginzo just sighed "The brat's smarter than that" Conan actually gave chase instead of doing, whatever it was that Mamoru had just done "That damn thief just has a soft spot for young children" He grumbled, slightly aggravated that the heist had ended up being delayed for another day as Kid 'prepped' whatever was needed to stop Mamoru from doing that again.

"Ah..." Minato sighed "At least that's better than him hurting them I guess..."

The inspector just clicked his tongue before heading over to ask Mitsuki just what the hell had happened since the woman seemed to understand what her child had done. When he got the answer, Ginzo wasn't really impressed. He almost couldn't believe that Kid had played along, but at the same time he could totally see Kid being that weird. God that damn thief was a headache to deal with.

The next night had Kid appearing in a light blue rather than his normal white "I have infused myself with magic to resist the spell!" If Ginzo didn't play along, he was going to throw a fit. He'd sacrificed one of his suits for this!

"No!" Mamoru was easily dodged by the thief as he weaved around everyone and snatched the gem. His Mommy's necklace was being stolen!

"I have won" Kid grinned, flicking the necklace up, just high enough for the moonlight from the window to hit it. There was no red glow "But I do not need this so you may keep it!" He caught the necklace before tossing it back to the boy. Now that Mamoru shouldn't be chasing him, it was safe to play with his task force! "Come get me Keibu!" Kid taunted.

"After him!" Ginzo yelled now that there was no longer any danger of them trampling Mamoru. Just because the thief had been playing nice, it didn't mean that they would do the same.

As the task force chased after Kid, Mamoru carefully held the necklace, looking a bit sad "I failed..." He only had the necklace because Kid let him have it. The boy blinked when he felt his mother's arms wrap around him "You stopped him once, and that's amazing. Thank you Mamoru" It was only normal for her son to be feeling sad. At least Kid hadn't been too cruel.

"I will be better!" He would need to train! Not all thieves were as nice as that one had been "I will protect your necklace" That way his mommy will keep being happy.

Me: So a weird prompt led to this XD It was very fun to write~ The word was 'Dora' I can't believe I managed to write something from that prompt
