Wednesdays and Thursdays were Rain's worst days. Every single slot on her timetable was blocked up and she was currently by her locker, Mal next to her as they collect things for their respective next classes.

"And then-" Evie is stood between them, relaying Etiquette Class to Mal.

A loud, fake laugh breaks through the quiet chatter in the hallway, interrupting Evie and Rain looks up, finding Audrey with her boyfriend and Chad.

"Those kids are trouble." Chad points to Rain and she quickly hides behind the locker door.

"Bye guys," Evie makes a swift exit.

"Bye," Rain mutters, her eyes trained on Chad, Mal echoes her response.

"Come on, Chad. Give them a chance."

"Oh. No offence, Bennybear, but you're just too trusting," Rain pretends to read her History textbook as she listens in "Look, I know your mom fell in love with a big nasty beast who turned out to be a prince."

"Audrey don-" Ben tries to interject

"But with my mom, the evil fairy was just the evil fairy. That girl's mother," she points to Mal "And that girl's mother," Audrey points to Rain "Is a witch! A monster who kidnapped Queen Rapunzel, how do you think Ruby feels rooming with her?!"

"Ruby only speaks highly of Rain," Ben sighs "And the Isle Kids aren't the ones throwing a fit in the middle of the hallway," he looks at her pointedly and turns, walking towards Rain and Mal "Hey!"

"Hi," They both slam their lockers and Rain's eyes widen at the close proximity between her and Ben.

"You look pretty, Rain - uh nice, cool?" he stutters a bit and turns around to see if Audrey is gone.

"Thanks," Rain grins

"How's your first week going?"

"Super," Mal answers but sarcasm is dripping off her words, Rain laughs slightly under her breath.

Ben gestures to Mal's locker, it says 'Long Live Evil', coated in spray paint "You know, you could always think about taking this talent off the locker and into art class. I could, uh, sign you up. What do you think?" Jane scurries past and Mal's attention shifts.

"Way to take all the fun out of it." Mal drawls and then taps Rain's shoulder "I'm gonna head off, okay?"

"Yeah," Rain smiles at her, giving her a wink Ben can't see, and she watches Mal follow Jane into the bathrooms. Ben is still inches away from her, looking down.

"Was that a History of Auradon book you were reading?" he asks, genuinely curious

"Mhm, it's the only class I have you in, gotta keep you on your toes," Ben blushes and laughs awkwardly

"I saw you at Tourney practice yesterday,"

"Yeah! I had a free so thought I'd watch for Jay and Carlos,"

"I saw you two talking afterwards yeah, is there anything y'know...going on there?"

"What?" Rain stares blankly at him

"I was just wondering if you guys date on the isle?" he's bright red now

"Oh! Yes...Well no but yes," Ben raises an eyebrow "Yes people date but not me and Jay," Rain laughs "In fact if that ever does happen you have full permission to send me back to my mother," she snorts and walks off

"See you tomorrow?!"

"Yep! History of Magic, period one, back row!"

"I'll save you a seat!" Ben grins and sighs as he watches her go towards the art corridor.

Friday morning came sooner than expected, and at 9 am sharp, Rain was sat next to Ben, listening to Chip start the lesson. She shockingly rather enjoyed her different history lessons and could be seen rapidly taking notes, highlighting and doodling along her pages.

Ben nervously sits next to her, his notes much neater.

"Why do you take this class?" she asks suddenly, turning to him with a highlighter behind her ear "I mean, I'm sure this was all drilled into you as a kid, so why bother being here?"

Ben takes a moment to answer "I enjoy it," he shrugs "Plus, I had to fill my timetable somehow," he mutters and Rain smiles

"That's the real answer then," she smirks and he hides a grin "I uh, Carlos told me you're helping him out with Tourney," Ben nods "That's um...really cool of you," she struggles to get the compliment out.

"It's nothing," Ben shrugs

"No, it is something," Rain nods "Being...kind," she cringes "Is normal to you, for you, not for us. You're making Carlos included, you're...being kind, I appreciate you looking out for him," she then looks away and Ben goes to respond.

"Shut up and pretend I never said anything,"

Ben smiles.

On Sunday, Rain is lying on Evie's bed reading through the spells in her mother's book when Jane enters, a pout on her face.

Mal is sketching something on her own bed, and Evie is at her desk, sewing a dress.

"Mom said, 'If a boy can't see the beauty within", then he's not worth it,' Can you believe it? What world does she live in?"

"Auradon," Mal sasses, her drawing taking up her mind.

"Do you like?" Evie holds up the blue fabric she's working on, now shaped and cut.

"Yeah. It's cute." Mal looks back at her book.

"Brings out your eyes," Rain comments and Evie grins happily

"I'll never get a boyfriend!" Jane exclaims falling next to Rain.

"Boyfriends are overrated,"

"Agreed,"

"And how would you two know, you've never had one."

"You're right Evie, I've never had any boyfriends," Rain emphasises and winks, Evie rolls her eyes.

"Fine," she pouts

"Does Gil count?" Mal pipes up

"We were thirteen?!"

"So?"

"No, no it doesn't," Rain lets out a deep sigh

"I was gonna say," Mal smirks, looking at her friend "Two out of three, you're on a roll,"

"Shut up!" Rain laughs and throws a pillow at her friend, Evie squeals as Mal catches it and tucks it under her.

"Anyway, they're a waste of time" Mal laughs as Evie suddenly stands and runs between the beds

"I forgot to do Chad's homework! Oh, no! Oh, no, no, no."

"Point proven," Rain points and a tall girl enters the room with a short black bob.

"Hey, guys! I'm Lonnie. My mom's Mulan?" everyone gives her a blank stare, Jane continues to stare at the ceiling "No? Anyways, I love what you've done with Jane's hair. And I know you hate us, and, well, you're evil. But do you think you could do mine?"

"Why would I do that for you?" Mal snaps

"I'll give you fifty gold" She brings out a blue purse

"Good answer. I need to buy more materials. Let's see, I'm thinking, we lose the bangs, maybe some layers and some highlights." Evie starts playing with Lonnie's hair.

"Yeah, yeah. I want it cool. Like Rain and Mal's."

"Really, the split ends too?"

Rain fake gasps and stands up, poking Evie, before looking at Lonnie's hair "I can do it if you want," she starts, pulling a strand too hard.

"Can you do it how Mal does it?" Lonnie asks nervously

"I'll do better," Mal glares and Rain bites her lip as she smiles, snapping her fingers "'Spirits beware replace old with cool hair,'" Lonnie's hair is covered by burgundy smoke, and a gold glow flickers as it becomes longer, layered and highlighted, she gasps.

"I know. I know. It looks like a mop on your head. You know what? Let's cut it off, layer it..." Evie follows Lonnie to the mirror.

"No, no, no, no, no, no! I love it." She rips her dress "It's just... Now I'm cool."

"Like ice," Mal says sarcastically and Rain smiles, watching Jane walk up to the mirror and rip her own dress

"What did I just do? Mom's gonna kill me!" Everyone laughs, but Rain kneels down and gently mutters a spell as she waves her hand over the fabric.

"All fixed," Rain smiles and Jane sighs in relief, someone appears in the doorway - it's Ruby.

"What are you losers doing?"
