Rain wakes up to soft humming coming from across the room, she groans slightly, stretching her legs as she blinks slowly. Her curtains were shut, but Ruby's side of the room was illuminated by a soft yellow light, and the girl is trying to quietly shut her dresser drawer as she gets her clothes out. Rain shuts her eyes again and hides under her covers, taking a deep breath. Her eyes were practically glued shut, she was that tired.

After they go back from the museum, Rain snuck back into her dorm, collapsing instantly. She hadn't taken the time to appreciate how comfortable her mattress was, but now she can and she doesn't want to get up, it smelt nice under the covers as well, and Rain's suddenly self-conscious.

Cleanliness at the Isle was hard to come by, and the princesses at Auradon smelt of flowers and berries, and she was sure Ruby had noticed she didn't hold that smell.

Rain sighs, removes her head from under the covers, and catches Ruby as she heads towards their en suite. As Rain was on the right-hand side of the room, the bathroom door was on her side.

"Morning," Ruby smiles "I won't be long in the shower, so you can use it after me," she smiles

"Thanks," Rain nods and sits up, yawning while Ruby turns the shower on. Slowly she finds herself getting up and preparing her clothes for the day she pulls the curtains open and squints at the sun streaming through.

She hadn't learnt much about Ruby and she supposed having an upper hand in conversations may benefit her so she checks the shower is still running and finds herself looking at the pictures on Ruby's wall: there are some of her on horses, and there appear to be medals for races. Scattered across the girl's items, there appears to be a repeated sun pattern. A large family portrait is hung by Ruby's bed, and Rain's eyes are drawn to the brunette in the centre, wearing the Cororna crown jewels: Rapunzel.

"That's my mum," Ruby's voice makes Rain jump "Sorry!" Ruby comes to stand next to her "I didn't mean to scare you," she smiles kindly and points to the painting "That's my mum," she points to the green-eyed- queen, she has a large grin on her face, and Rain can't look away. She was raised by the same woman she was, and she was happy, she was smiling, and she had a family. Rain supposed that's what happens when you're a lost princess.

"She's pretty," Rain says quietly and Ruby gulps, seeing the conflict on Rain's face

"Anyway um that's my dad," she points to the man next to Rapunzel, looking rather annoyed at the painter, but he's distracted by a baby Ruby on his lap "And that's my older brother, Ethan" she points to a brunette boy standing by his mother, a childish grin on his face, next to him is an empty chair, a crown sitting on its own. Rain wants to ask about it, but is cut off by Ruby's phone ringing "Oh! It's Jo!"

"Who's-?" she's cut off by Ruby answering the phone, so she heads into the bathroom to shower.

"You can use my body wash and shampoo!" Ruby shouts after her "I'm not sure what it'll do to your hair colour, but it should be fine!"

"Thanks!" Rain shuts the door and turns on the shower.

Ruby was right, a large amount of red dye went down the drain, and once her hair had dried a bit, it was noticeably lighter. Rain didn't mind too much since her hair had never felt softer. Ruby takes her to breakfast and Rain meets up with Jay and Carlos as they shove their faces full before she finds herself by her locker.

"Hey, Rain!" she spins around, only to be greeted by the crown prince.

"Hi," she looks at him suspiciously, he seemed to always be cheery...and be wearing suits.

"You're um," he gestures around awkwardly "Early,"

"Um yeah" Rain smiles, " I thought I'd find my locker and check out the library before lessons," Ben looks shocked but quickly covers it with a smile.

"Do you want me to show you where it is?"

"Thank you, really. But I think I'll be fine,"

"No I insist, it's my princely duty," he grins and Rain raises an eyebrow, her lips turning upwards involuntary.

"Okay," Ben nods and leads Rain through hallway upon hallway.

"So, you like reading?"

"Yeah, among other things, we don't really have books back home," Ben looks confused "I mean we do, it's just that they're destroyed and go from page five to thirty in one flip,"

"Oh," Ben sounds a bit sad and Rain is quick to try and lighten the mood.

"Yeah, Romeo and Juliet was a wild ride,"

Ben laughs and leads her to two golden arched doors "Here we are," He opens the door, and Rain walks in.

"Wow..." Rain stands in awe. There are bookcases covering every space, so she turns in a full circle trying to take it all in, through the glass door is a room full of computers and beanbags, but this is clearly the original library, with golden archways and wooden desks.

Ben watches as Rain spins, a soft smile on his face, Rain grins at him "Any recommendations?" he looks around nervously "Don't tell me the son of Belle doesn't read?" Ben laughs and starts mumbling "I'm shocked, I feel personally attacked,"

"I like reading!" he defends "I just don't have time lately..." Rain raises her eyebrow and tries to cover a genuine smile with a smirk, but fails.

"I don't quite believe you," she winks and Ben's cheeks turn a rosy red.

A loud, obnoxious voice breaks through the silence of the library "Ooooh Bennyboo!" Audrey enters and gives Rain a brief look of disinterest that doesn't go missed by both Rain and Ben "Oh, Rain!" She smiles fakely "I didn't think I'd find you in a library," she loops her arm with Ben's and he looks uncomfortable yet again, closing his eyes as if to calm himself.

"Well, don't judge a book by its cover," Rain raises her right hand and does a finger gun. Ben smiles slightly.

Audrey has a brief laugh "Come on Benny, we have class," she drags him away out the doors

"Bye, Rain!" Ben waves and looks at her as long as he can. Rain waves back and lets out a small smile as Audrey starts talking again.

After her small talk with Ben, Rain heads to her first lesson - Magical History. Ruby had told her it was run by Merlin's granddaughter, and Rain knew she wasn't lying when she entered and saw a young woman with long brown hair and thick glasses dressed in a long blue robe. Miss Ambrosius is cheery and expressive, walking around the classroom as she starts the topic, telling the class to talk to their partners. Rain looks to her left where a young girl in a light blue dress sits.

"Hi," Rain greets and the girl jumps

"Uh-Hi,"

"Um, what are we meant to be doing?" Rain asks quietly as chatter surrounds them

"We're learning about Magical abilities, so we've got to think of people like um Elsa, people who aren't fairies or witches,"

"Oh..." Rain bites on the end of her pencil "Rapunzel?" the girl nods, still nervous.

"Yeah, um I'm Jane by the way,"

"Rain," the redhead nods "So we have Elsa and Rapunzel,"

After period one, Rain had a gap on her timetable, so she decides to explore slightly, the rest of her friends were in lessons, and thus Rain finds herself wandering out onto the sports field where she finds several students on the bleachers studying and chatting. She takes a seat near the pitch, and takes out her sketchpad, starting to draw the small tiara she saw in Ruby's family portrait. She tries to ignore the heat from the sun, maybe black and dark red with a splash of leather isn't a good idea in the heat...

"Hey! Rain!" The girl looks up and sees Ben walking towards her in sportswear "How're you doing,"

"Good thanks," she nods

"What um- What lesson did you have?"

"Magical History," Rain shuts her textbook and squints at the prince in the sunlight "You?"

"I had International History, that's on your timetable right?" Rain nods "Anyway,  now I'm in Tourney practice," he grins and gestures to the field.

"Oh..." Rain had no idea what Tourney was and was far too embarrassed to ask, Ben can sense this

"It's an Audaronian sport," he explains "Hey um, Jay and Carlos might like it,"

"Does it involve stealing or violence?" Rain laughs "Because if not I don't think so," Ben smiles and turns away as his coach shouts for him to come back.

"Hey, I'll um see you later okay?"

"Okay," Rain nods as Ben runs off and she turns back to her sketchbook, her next lesson was 'Selflessness 101' and she had a feeling it wouldn't be like her mother's class.

Jay sits next to her in this lesson, and they watch as a regal blonde enters a grin on her face, Cinderella. She starts the lesson with a few questions for the class and Rain gets a strange look when she said she wouldn't share chocolate with a stranger. Jay gets much worse looks however when he starts describing how he'd beat up someone who hypothetically wanted his hat.

Maths doesn't go much better and Rain finds herself with her head on the desk more times than she can count. Mr Deley appears to also be a chemistry teacher and Rain wishes he'd go back to that department t and leave her to draw in peace.

In History of Auradon, Ben rushes in late and Professor Chip glares at him so hard Ben looks like he might cry, he falls into the spare chair next to Rain and gives her a grin.

"Hey,"

"Hi," Rain watches the boy take out a singular pen from his pocket, starkly different from her multi-coloured pens and highlighters.

"How's your day been? I heard that you and Jay caused a bit of a debate in Selflessness 101,"

"Of course, you did," Rain rolls her eyes and pouts

"Hey," Ben touches her arm gently "I wouldn't share chocolate either," he winks and Rain finds herself smiling.

Etiquette class is the worst one yet. Rain and Evie are sat near Audrey and the girl was practically asking for a fight. Rain had tried to curtsey and had heard Audrey whisper to the girl next to her that it didn't matter since she'd be kicked out of the country soon enough. When Evie had put her forks in the wrong order, Audrey had merely laughed and Rain was ready to punch someone, so after a short break after class she finds herself storming into Remedial Goodness 101, ready to slap Fairy Godmother if she so much as spoke.

Rain sits in front of Mal and Evie and opens up a book from the library - 'Magic - The Forces of Good and Evil'. Fairy Godmother starts the lesson and Rain tunes in and out, she wasn't in the mood to say she'd hold in a piss if it meant saving some flowers.

"If someone hands you a crying baby, do you, A, curse it? B, lock it in a tower? C, give it a bottle? Or D, carve out its heart?" Evie raises her hand to Fairy Godmother's question "Evie." Rain looks up from her book and turns, finding Mal drawing the magic wand and not paying attention whilst the others just look lost.

"What was the second one?" Evie asks innocently.

Rain smirks slightly.

"Oh, okay. Anyone else?" Fairy Godmother looks lost and Rain laughs loudly "Rain?"

Rain quickly reads through the options "C, give it a bottle."

"Correct. Again." Rain smiles awkwardly and looks back at her book, she's started doodling on her notepad, vines covering the page.

"You are on fire, girl!" Carlos remarks and Rain turns around to look at him and Jay.

"Just pick the one that doesn't sound like any fun," Mal explains and as everyone makes sounds of acknowledgement, Rain watches Mal mock them, Rain grins and winks at her, turning back in time to see Jane from Magical History run forward between the tables the VK's are sat on and up to Fairy Godmother. "Oh. Hello, dear one,"

"Hi. You need to sign off on early dismissal for the coronation," she hands her a notepad. Rain's eyes are trained on her and Mal nudges Evie.

"Everyone here remembers my daughter, Jane?"

"Mom, no!"

"It's okay. Jane, this is everyone." Fairy Godmother introduces her and Rain waves, attempting to give a friendly smile

"Uh hi Rain, hi. That's okay, don't mind me. As you were," Mal waves to her as she leaves and Jane's eyes widen as she squeaks before looking behind her when she passes. When she leaves, Rain looks at Mal, and she recognises her plotting face.

Fairy godmother coughs "Let's continue," she fishes to the whiteboard and starts her exaggerations again "You find a vial of poison! Do you, A, Put it in the King's wine?" Evie starts to raise her hand and Rain nods, muttering 'obviously that one' as a joke "B, paint it on an apple," Evie giggles "or C, hand it over to the proper authorities?"

Evie, Carlos and Jay's hands are held up high and Jay grabs Carlos's arm, forcing his arm down. "Jay?" Fairy Godmother points

"C, you turn it over to the proper authorities,"

"I was gonna say that!" Carlos pouts

"But I said it first!" Jay mocks "C'mere," Jay wraps his arms around Carlos and starts to playfully attack him, Carlos ends up on top of the desk. Rain looks up from her book and smiles apologetically at Fairy Godmother, she was very used to this.

"Boys!" their heads snap up "I am going to encourage you to use that energy on the Tourney field,"

"Uh no thanks," Carlos shakes his head, as Jay gets off him "Whatever this is, we'll pass,"

Fairy Godmother signs them up anyway.
