Light brown fur weaved between the trees. Almondmoon was going out to the graves to say her goodbyes. She didn't like to mourn in front of others; she needed to seem strong. However, this night, she was followed.

The same gray/black murderer snuck up behind their victim. They jumped into Almondmoon's side, knocking the small she-cat to the ground. "W-wait what are you doing?" She breathed, breathless and wheezing. It was too late.

The she-cat was found the next morning with her stomach ripped open, blood pooling around her. Lotusfur was the one to find her. He screamed out to the rest of his patrol, and they quickly came to his calls.

Soon, they presented Pinestar with the news, but instead, Cracklepaw was there. The two had been switched, now Pinepaw and Cracklestar. Instead of dwelling on the topic, the patrol told the new leader quickly. 

"We need to find this murderer," Cracklestar replied, "and fast."
