"And it's not what I asked for

The words were written straight from her memories, Mira's voice portraying every ounce of emotion she felt in this kind-of-sad song.

"And carves out a person,

Mira took a wavering breath to calm her rising tears and continued,

"And now I've got you."

The song switched from 3rd person POV to as though Mira was talking to herself.

"And you're not what I asked for
If I'm honest, I know I would give it all back

And rewrite an ending or two
For the girl that I knew."

She would have kept her father home from work and insisted he rest for the day on the morning he died. She would have stayed home on her 22nd birthday, the day she met York. She would have begged her mother to stay and not fight in the war, to survive and raise her little girl. But Mira couldn't go back in time, so this song was the closest she would ever get to tampering fate and her past. By now, Mira had tears slowly falling down her cheeks, making it hard to see the piano keys and play the right notes.

"Who'll be reckless, just enough.

Wbut who learns how to toughen up
When she's bruised, and gets used

Tears streamed down Mira's face, making her vision blurry and her consequently missing or screwing up notes on the piano. Loki couldn't see Mira's face from where he sgood, but it was obvious she was crying, her body was shaking and her voice sounded pushed, like she was forcing out the words through the tears.

"And then she'll get stuck
And be scared of the life that's inside her

By then, Mira was singing A Capella, having given up on the piano because she couldn't read the notes and chords she'd written through the tears.

To bring back the fire in her eyes."

She was crying so hard she nearly hiccuped a sob. Loki could now see her tearstained face and emotional breakdown and instantly rushed to comfort her, berating himself furiously for not doing so before. He wrapped his arms around her trembling body and held her tight and comfortingly.
