AS SHE AWAITING THE ARRIVAL OF HER OPPONENT,

the presence in the darkness in the curtain she was pulled aside into, her eyes were met with the blue eyes she was growing fond of by the hour.

"what the fuck are you doing? hiding behind a curtain? someone could have easily seen me get pulled behind here-" his large hand was soon placed against her mouth, muffling the brewing feelings the brunette girl was beginning to express.

"rory, you need to know that evolution is back." dean warned her, the flash of hatred glowing on her skin momentarily before meeting his eyes once more, feeling his sense of calmness.

"you didn't need to tell me-"

"they plan on having you go against all of them in a gauntlet match." his hushed tone worried the brunette more, but only for him to press his body closer to hers as they heard the group walk passed them, their music shortly playing as their voices walked further away, vanishing as they entered the stage area.

"i need to go, but thank you."

most people, if they knew that she was in communication with the crazy one of the shield, she would have been harrassed by the group of individuals whom have gone up against the authority, most failing to compete with their amount of athletes.

as he pressed a light peck to her hairline, she stepped out as she tapped against his wrist, silently thanking him before her music was sounded, him slowly backing out of the curtain he was hiding and going towards a monitor.

was he concerned about her health and safety? the shield member couldn't stop himself from doing so, feeling strongly connected to the girl he has actually been brutalizing for the past few months, only now bonding as his group wanted to escape the authority.

what would they do to remove themselves from the ever-growing population of wrestlers who recognized not to fight the powerhouses and brains of the operations? how would they do that?

his mind trailed off momentarily as he blankly watched the screen, only to get pulled into a dark area with his other shield members, needing to be a distraction for the brunette girl who was facing batista in the ring, about to win as the camera turned on.

their game faces were on, their personas they had to play on the screen started.

"turn this shit off!" aurora yelled, batista down on the mat in a nearby corner, trying to rest up as she was distracted.

"you don't play with the hounds and not expect us to bite, rory. we aren't going down silently. you beat our champ here last night, but he still is the united states champion- and all you have to show for that match is a few cuts and bruises." seth smirked through the camera, her eyes flickering with hesitation before waving for a microphone.

"i'll prove to you that not just the beat down you gave me last night was something i scraped by. i'm not stupid, i've been playing with fire, and there's nothing putting out any flames. but i do want to ask you three; what's it really like- letting your owners order you around like their cleaning ladies?"

tossing the microphone as dean pretended to get agitated, roman and seth saying some calming words as they all tried to fight off the smiles on their faces, dean pacing and covering part of this mouth to mask his smirk.

slamming her knee into batista's face, she soon felt his grab one of her legs, throwing her face first into what she thought was just going to be the mat.

loads of steel chairs that were hiding the nails underneath.
