After a fight with her aunt, Amelia locked herself in her bedroom. She wascrying, and wishing that she could live with her parents. When she was still ababy, her parents died in a car accident; that's why she was adopted by her aunt.

Amelia hated her, she was forced to work all day, and it was forbidden to leavethe house. Many years have passed; she grew up in the same house, this prisonthat kept her away from the outside world.

She was lonely and very sad. She wassitting on her bed and started writing her precious diary; it was her onlycompanion. She has written almost every second of her life and all her feelings.

Amelia was a normal girl, not beautiful, but she had her own beauty insome way. She wasn't attractive but she was kind and her blue eyes were deeplike the ocean. She loved the silence and enjoyed spending time in her room.Maybe the loneliness that she had spent was the reason for that strange hobby. Her room wasn't very big; it was actually the attic.

While she was gluing on her diary, she noticed on the wall a very beautifuldrawing of the sea which was a gift from her grand-parents. Amelia stared at it asif she had never seen it before. The drawing became so real and the wavesstarted to curl around. Amelia thought that she was crazy and started to seeillusions but a moment later, her room was quickly filled with sea water!

Ameliacouldn't feel the ground because the water almost reached the ceiling. When thepoor girl tried to get out of the water, she found herself floating in the middle ofthe sea. She was no longer in her room or a house in London.

Amelia looked around her; there weren't any boats but she saw a smallisland and climbed ashore. She was scared and cold, her clothes were all soaked. There weren't many trees on the island but as she walked deeper and deeper, she found a very tall tree with a small door on the side. Amelia said to herself:'What a strange house! Maybe I should take a look and try to find his owner.(Amelia thought everything was strange that day so she didn't hesitate to doanything)

She looked through a small window; it was a very cozy house. There was asmall bed, a small chair and a small table; everything was way too small for hersize.

Suddenly, she heard a scream from the tree house. A very tiny personjumped out of nowhere and started to hit her on the head. Amelia was surprisedfrom the attack but she wasn't hurt because the tiny person was too...small.

'Ouch! Stop that, I don't want to hurt you!', said Amelia, then she took thestrange person by his jacket and started to observe him very closely. At first, shedidn't see anything strange about him but then, when she saw his ears and hissize, she knew it was an elf.

'How strange', thought Amelia, 'I've never seen an elf before.'

'What are you looking at, you stupid giant!' screamed the small elf, angrily,'get out of my backyard, go back!'

'But I don't know how. I don't know where to go.' she said.

'Of course you do! Giants only came here by pixie dust.' said the elf.

'What is pixie dust?' asked Amelia while putting the elf down.

'Well, you're not from here, aren't you? My name is Crook and you'restepping on my garden!' shouted Crook in a high, angry voice.

'Oh my, I'm so sorry! My name is Amelia, nice to meet you.' began Ameliakindly.

But the elf didn't say a word and started to fix his garden. Amelia didn'tknow how the elf got down on the ground so fast since he was on her head. (Hermemories started to fade away)

'Crook, how can I go back to the giant's world?' she asked.

'Giants? What giants? And who are you? Do I know you?' answered Crookwith a cold voice.

'I just talked to you two minutes ago! It's Amelia, remember?' said Amelia.

'Who? I don't know anyone named Amelia. Go away!' screamed the elf.

Amelia cried and ran away deeper and deeper into the woods. She didn'tknow what to do; she was alone on a strange island with an elf that couldn't evenremember his own name. But then she stopped, and looked around her. Abeautiful water fall was right in front of her; Amelia was amazed by its beauty. The water was very clear and there were flowers all around the side.

When she turned around, she saw a small house. 'I'm sure it wasn't there before' thought Amelia, 'maybe I should go inside,I may find something to eat and some dry clothes.'

It was a very strange day for Amelia so she started to think that everythingis possible. When she was about to open the door, a white owl screamed at herand said: 'Do not enter the house, it's the Witch's mansion.'

'Isn't it a little small to be called mansion?' said Amelia.

'No, it looks small but it's very big.' said the owl.

'Oh, and why can't I come in?' asked Amelia.

'Because you're too big.' said the owl.

'But you just said that the mansion is very big!' she said.'When? I never said that!' said the owl.

Amelia was very tired and thought the people here were all mad (theyweren't actually people...). The owl started to talk about strange things andAmelia nearly fell asleep. But she wanted to enter the "mansion" and so, shesneaked in by a very small door.

The "mansion" was actually enormous! Therewere stairs and so many rooms. Amelia climbed on the first step but then shecouldn't stop climbing; the stairs was too long!

'It wasn't like this when I came in.', she thought.

But with lots of efforts, she finally reached a room with a big goldenhandle. When she opened the door, there was a large table and plates on it. Thesmall girl walked in and saw a beautiful lady standing in front of a mirror.

'Oh my! Look at you poor thing! You're soaked!' cried the lady in a highvoice.

'Yes, I fell into the sea, I think...', said Amelia.

'Come, come my child, I'll find you some dry clothes', said the lady.

Amelia walked along the corridor with the nice lady and found a beautifulwardrobe.

'Close your eyes', said the lady, with a smile.

Amelia closed her eyes; suddenly she felt a warm feeling around her body. When she opened her eyes, she was wearing an amazing dress. After gettingdressed up, she went back to the dining room with the kind lady. They sat downand started talking.

'Tell me, who are you?' asked the lady with a strange voice.

Suddenly, Amelia couldn't remember anything! Her name, her age, whereshe came from; nothing!

'I...I don't know anymore. I can't remember a thing!' cried Amelia.

'Don't worry, this is going to be your new home.' said the lady, 'my nameis Elizabeth but people call me Witch. They hate me because I'm different.'

'Oh no, you seem normal to me. In fact, I find you very beautiful and kind,Elizabeth.' said Amelia.

 'Thank you, Amelia.' said Elizabeth.

'How do you know my name? I couldn't remember it myself.' said Amelia.

'No one remembers anything, that's why all the people here can't return towhere they came from.' said Elizabeth in a low voice.

'How? How can I go back?' asked Amelia.

'Why do you want to go back? Isn't this a wonderful place? You can dowhatever you want, get everything, you ever wanted. I will make you happy!'said the lady; she started to smile in a very evil way.

Amelia didn't want to stay, she didn't trust the Witch. She wanted to gohome even though her life wasn't perfect but at least, she had her family had anormal life. Her aunt treated her badly but Amelia didn't need anything else, shedidn't want to stay in a useless world where everything was given. She didn't askfor a luxury life, she only wanted a life that makes sense. No fairytales, nohappily ever after. At that moment, Amelia remembered everything and said tothe Witch: 'I don't need to stay here to be happy, I already was in my world', saidAmelia, smiling, 'please let me go back, I appreciate your suggestion but I can't.'

The Witch suddenly became horribly furious and her face turned red, 'Youwill stay and you'll never leave!' shouted the Witch.

'I WILL LEAVE, you can't make me stay!' shouted Amelia.

'YOU WILL STAY!'

 'NO!' screamed Amelia.

As she screamed at the Witch, an enormous wind blew everything awayand when Amelia opened her eyes, she found herself in the room, on her bedwith her diary on her hand. She couldn't believe what had just happened butwhen she looked at her right hand; she found the red rose that she had picked upin the elf's garden. And then, she knew that all those things were real and thatone day, the Witch will look for her and bring her back to that Enchanted Island.
