CHAPTER 5:
First Dance.
Eli

"You-you look nice," I stuttered out to Quinn. She wore a Shego costume and it was very form fitting, tracing out all her curves and she even put black lipstick on her top lip.

"Thanks. You too. Surgeon?"

"Yeah," I muttered.

"Quinn, do you like dancing?" Demetri asked, and she nodded yes.

"Eli, do you like dancing?"

"Not-"

"Doesn't matter. Point is, we all need to experience high school to the fullest. And dances are part of it, naturally. So. . ."

Please don't do this, Demetri.

"Dance!" He shoved her into me and out of instinct, my hands grabbed her waist.

"I-I don't-" Demetri cut me off with a glare.

Shit.

And she loves dancing too.

"Wanna dance?" She smiled and nodded yes before leading me to the dance floor, but just then, it ended.

And a slow song came on.

Fuck.

"We don't have to slow dance if you don't want to."

"N-no, you love slow dancing. And I wanna try it. Think you can teach me?" She led my hands to her waist while hers rested on my shoulders.

I probably feel so scrawny.

Does she even notice?

My shoulders should be bigger. . .

"Stop looking like a bore," Demetri whispered in my ear as he passed by us, and Quinn quirked hed brow.

"He's just being stupid. Am I going too slow?" She nodded no, but I knew the song was coming to an end soon.

And with all the confidence I could muster, I pulled her in a bit closer to me. I couldn't tell if she noticed, and I was thankful the mask hid my burning cheeks.

"Want to rest your head on my chest? Li-Like Belle and the Beast. If it's too close, I unders-" She softly smiled and set her head on my chest, and I prayed that she couldn't hear how fast my heart was beating.

How is she so comfortable with me?

It feels. . .really nice.

But just as I thought my hopes couldn't get any higher, the stupid DJ changed the song by merging it with a pop song and she removed herself from me.

"Hey! Quinn!" Miguel entered the gym and immediately spotted us, and she walked over to him.

No. . .

They laughed and she smiled brightly at him, and he cracked a few more jokes about Supernatural before they both walked onto the dance floor.

Leaving me alone.

Sorry I haven't updated in so long!! I ended up getting COVID, but all it did was change my taste buds a bit so I'm all good! The next update should be up by tomorrow.
