It had been about a week since you left Peter Parker standing in the hallway. You hadn't talked to him since then and you felt that was for the better in order to fully try get over him.

Although your distance kept you from talking to him, it didn't keep him from trying to talk to you. He would constantly try and catch up to you in the halls, or catch you outside your class at the end of the day or leave you up to ten missed calls a day during the week.

You were upset and frustrated that he wasn't taking your hints. You felt that the only way to truly get him to stop talking to you was if you were to tell him yourself but you knew that would never happen.

Part of how you get over someone is by distancing yourself and losing contact with that person and seeing him would ruin that. You knew that all your feelings you worked so hard to rid of, would come flooding back in a terrible mess and you didn't want that.

You knew that as soon you would see his light brown, fluffy locks that looked oh-so-soft to the touch or his big brown eyes, you wouldn't be able to distance yourself. Your heart ached for him and you knew that you wouldn't be able to stand your ground against him.

He hurt you in one of the worst possible ways— leading you on, and you hated him for it.

You were currently sitting on your bed as you looked over your study notes for your upcoming biology test and shoved a cracker in your mouth.

Your heart leaped in your chest when you heard a soft knock coming from your window, you looked up to see Peter in his Spider-man suit. He didn't look too good as he was hovered over in pain with his arm cradling his stomach.

Rushing over to your window, you opened it and hurriedly said, "Peter?"

"Hey.. I-Is it alright if I come in?" He asked politely before wincing in pain.

"Y-yeah, of course. What happened to you?" You asked, your tone laced with panic as you helped him into your room.

Even if you were upset with him and hadn't talked to him in a week, you had to take care of him when he was hurt because in the end, he was still your best friend.

"Robbers. Bank. Weird gun that caught me off guard and they shot me. I let them get away, (y/n). What happens if those guys try to hurt anyone else? I mean, they got what they want even while fighting me.. Who says they won't get another thing they want with someone else?" Peter explained, tugging his mask off as he felt a surge of guilt course through him.

You laid him down on your bed gently and sat beside him, "Peter, they won't hurt anyone else. You'll get the bad guys, you always do. Believe in yourself, you can do more than you think."

He stared into your eyes— filled of pain and regret. Even in times where he was scared or had little hope, he knew you would always emit from the dark clouds and continue to cheer him on. He loved that about you. "How can you be so sure? Why do you put so much faith in me, (y/n)?"

"Because I know what you're capable of and how you always make the right decision." You replied simply.

He swallowed, still attempting to stare into your eyes but you weren't looking at him then. "Not always." He whispered, his emotions going cloudy.

He felt as if a huge brick of guilt was suffocating him, only in that moment with you, he finally realized just how big of a mistake he had made in that hallway.

You looked at him as your eyebrows knit together in confusion, "What do you mean, Peter?"

"(y/n), I lied," He said suddenly. "There is not someone else.. There could never be someone else. I though when I told you that, I was protecting you from my job and from all the pain of it— but I wasn't... You make me feel whole, (y/n), you're one of the only things I fight for. When I pushed you away— man that was so stupid, because truth is.. I-I love you." He said, his eyes searching your face desperately.

Your breath was caught in your throat at his sudden confession, you wanted to speak but your tongue couldn't form words.

After all this hate you threw on to yourself from other people's success or the only boy you've ever loved tell you that his heart was directed at someone else's— it surprised you.

His confession made your heart ache and give off an illustrious glow that formed goosebumps across your skin. A single tear fell down your cheek as you whispered your very own confession, "I love you too, Peter. Always have— always will."

He caressed your cheek with his thumb as the smile he sent you warmed your heart to the core. You leaned forward, resting your forehead against his. "Man, are you beautiful." He whispered huskily and captured your lips in his.

You kissed him back immediately, as he held you as tight he could. Both of your hearts beat faster with the growing tension between the two of you finally resurfacing after all this lost time. Minute after minute went by as he cradled you like you were the most delicate thing he'd ever touched.

"I missed you." You whispered out of breath, your eyes still closed as your upper cheek rested against his temple.

"I missed you too, so- so much." He replied.
