"Clint!" You called out, frantically scanning the rooms of the house that you shared with him, darting from bedroom to bedroom, bathroom to utility closet. "Where are you?" You called out again, running down the stairs.

"I'm down here?" Clint popped his head around the door of the kitchen. "I thought maybe for once I should cook dinner, and no, I'm not just ordering pizza in this time." He fully opened the door; a tea towel was slung over his shoulder and an apron draped over his front covered in bright splatters.

"What's wrong? What's happened?" He noticed the streams of tears falling down your face.

"I don't know what's wrong, but people have just started... disappearing into... fucking nothingness Clint."

"Don't be silly, people can't just... disappear." You pulled his arm and ran into the living room where a live news broadcast was playing, detailing the events, or at least trying to, of what was going on.

"No..." Clint's usual smug grin had turned into a glare of dismay and terror. "What is going on?" He lurched forward, grabbing you and holding you closely, pressing your head into his chest.

"I need to go... where are my car keys?" Your heart sank deep into your chest.

"You can't Clint."

"I need to get everyone back together."

"Who is everyone Clint?"

"Nat... Wanda... I don't know Y/N." He became more and more tense as he began to hysterically look for his car keys.

"Clint can you just..." He barged past you and opened every draw in sight, every cupboard that sat along the walls, throwing the contents onto the floor.

"Clint I need you to..." He continued to ignore you, searching for his damn car keys.

"CLINT!" The sound reverberated through the old farmhouse, he stopped in his tracks and looked up at you, tears swelling in the corners of his aquamarine eyes and his arms cradling a stack of rubbish he collected from the draw.

"Can you please just stop for a few seconds. I... really don't feel good." He threw the knick-knacks onto the floor and rushed over to you. Your arm was shot with a sudden sensation of icy cold and it began to just... evaporate into nothingness. It was surprisingly painless, just very cold. It spread from your wrist all the way to the centre of your chest. He sprinted over to you but just as he reached you, just as his calloused hand caressed your cheek you were gone.
