For the last week and a half, you had pretty much spent the whole of your time collapsed on the hotel bed, complaining and crying. Clint was trying to be a good sport, but it wasn't going to last very long.

Although you had to get up for work, you would instantly return back to your spot on the bed, sobbing at your inner sadness. The only way you would shake it up slightly, is the fact that currently your phone was in your hand, scrolling through images of your fur babies that you missed wholeheartedly.

"I bet they are so sad. How would you feel if I left you at Natasha's without an explanation and disappeared for nearly two weeks?" You frowned at your husband.

He let out a sigh from the desk chair, running a hand through his hair doing his best not to flip and commit your murder.

"You did explain though. For three hours I recall. You told them where we were going and our itinerary and you also have facetimed the poor, yes I recognise the pun, creatures. They probably haven't been awake and away from their bowls long enough to realise that Natasha isn't you," he stated firmly.

You sat up gasping at his harsh words.

"Take it back Barton."

"Do remember you are also a Barton," he said flippantly.

"Shut you Clinton. Now take it back. Pavlov and Freud love me and you cannot deny that fact. They miss me and I miss them. Why couldn't they have come instead of you?" You frowned.

Clint stood up from the desk chair, reaching out a hand and pulled you up to your feet.

"I'm sure they love you," he said with an eye roll, resting a hand on your hip to pull you towards him. "However they are still two kittens, stupidly named kittens I may add, and they have little to no interest in their humans and I am sure that they will be fine with Natasha. She acts as if she doesn't care but she loves tiny animals. Now, I know this is a work trip, but we have some time alone without those two little blighters turning up at every turn, can we please relax and spend time with each other? It'd be so much better if you didn't constantly want those things here."

You narrowed your eyes at your husband, but you knew it wasn't too intimidating seen as he was so close to you.

"Firstly, they are your children so be nice to and about them. Secondly I miss them, as you should as well. And thirdly, fine. I guess I can have a couple of minutes without thinking about my two future cat psychologists," you said trying to sound less solemn.

He grinned, leaning in to peck your lips.

"I do love them. But I love you even more. And can you stop calling them our children it's just weird."

"See, you can't deny your love for them and they are your children, your tiny adorable fur babies," you smiled triumphantly.
