Kate hadn't told you too much about where you were going. You assumed you were going to be going into the city, however you had been in the car for what felt like a lifetime and the surroundings were now completely unfamiliar.

She had been driving off into the middle of nowhere for quite some time, and anytime you asked about where you were heading her response was always home.

Having had dated Kate Bishop for long over a year, she had met your family and knew everything there was to know about your background. However you didn't know much about her, not that you hadn't tried your hardest to talk about it. You knew that her Mother had passed away, but you weren't sure of the circumstances, and that her Father was fairly wealthy. Other than that you knew pretty much nothing about her past.

You didn't want to pry really, it was completely down to her to go into her past and tell you about it, but no matter how you tried to act as though you didn't mind that she was closed off about her past, it did make you question whether she wouldn't tell you because she just didn't want you to know.

With some prompting she finally was willing to take you home to her family to let you meet them. Although you were excited, granted nervous as well, you were very much confused as to why she was pulling her sleek car into the driveway of an old farm house.

If it was later in the day and the building was slightly more derelict you would assume that Kate was dragging you there to kill you.

Hesitantly you got out of the car walking around the front of it as Kate did the same.

"Your dad lives here?" You questioned.

"Not quite."

Before you could question what she was talking about, the front door of the farm house opened revealing a man and a Labrador.

The dog clambered down the steps running towards the two of you. You were hoping he was running towards Kate, but you were wrong. You were pushed back slightly as the large canine pinned you to the car as it licked your face.

"Come on Lucky, you'll scare her away," the man chuckled pulling the dog back away from you.

You didn't know that Kate owned a dog.

The man had short light hair, and looked nothing like you would have imagined Kate's Dad to have. You always assumed he was some stern dark haired man in a business suit that would try to buy his daughters love, but this man certainly didn't fit that criteria. He had a friendly smile, and was dressed in old drab clothing that fit that of a man whom was likely fixing up the building before you.

Kate knelt down to pet the large dog, showing the first smile you had seen for a while.

"I've missed you buddy," she smiled softly before looking up at the man. "I guess I missed you too."

"Don't be like that Katie," the man joked crossing his arms across his chest.

She ignored him. "Lucky this is Y/N."

You smiled at the dog realising it meant you no harm, rather just being an excitable creature.

"Nice to meet you Lucky," you stated. "It is nice to meet you too Mr Bishop."

The man burst out in a raucous laugh.

"I'm not Mr Bishop."

You raised an eyebrow looking at Kate. Who was this man? Was she actually bringing you here to kill you?

"Y/N, this isn't my Dad. His more of a brother really. This is Clint," she said softly. "I didn't know how you would really take me introducing you to them. However they are my real family, they took me in when I needed them most."

Clint grinned, clapping a hand to Kate's shoulder.

"Don't get sappy on me Kate," he laughed.

"Shut up Clint," she grumbled rising to her feet.

His eyes rolled at Kate, turning his attention back to you.

"It's nice to meet you Y/N. I gather Kate hasn't said much about me, but she has said a lot about you. You make her happy. I don't know what you see in her really, but you make her happy, so you are welcome here anytime and you are now part of this family."
