You had planned for a peaceful and uneventful day in the library, where you could catch up on reading books that you hadn't spent as much attention on. Although this was your plan it was destroyed completely when you heard yelling approaching your spot in between the books. The shouting wasn't directed at you, you were pretty certain it was just an annoyance being expelled, and you happened to be the only one there to hear it.

The place where you were sat was a secluded hid away corner of the library that only you and your love, Loki knew of, and that is how you realised it was Loki shouting when you came face to face with him.

His cheeks were flushed, and he held a determined, almost murderous, expression on his face.

"Loki?" You said softly laying your book down onto the pile by the side of your chair. "What is the matter?"

As soon as your eyes connected, the anger washed away from him, only leaving tears to fall down his cheeks. You stood up wrapping your arms around him attempting to comfort him. You had no idea what was going on, but you hated to see the man you loved like this.

"Please tell me what the matter is, you are concerning me and I can't help unless I know what the matter is," you smiled reassuringly, pulling away from the hug so that you could cup his tear-stained cheeks in your hands.

"It was all lies to suggest I ever had a chance at the throne," he spat through gritted teeth.

"Pardon?"

"They took more from Jotunheim that day than I ever thought they had."

You were completely lost as to what Loki was talking about. You assumed whatever had worked him up was to do with his parents as even though life as a Prince did come with its luxuries it was by no means easy.

"I'm sorry. I don't know what you are speaking of."

His expression softened as he saw the concern in your eyes.

"Me," he whispered. "Me. Odin. He took me that day. I am not an heir to the Asgardian throne, I am not even of this race."

It all became clearer as he explained. He continued to tell you of what he had heard from his father and he fluctuated between anger and sorrow. Once he finished speaking you couldn't help but pull him into a bone crushing hug, kissing his temple.

"Don't worry Loki. Everything will be fine," you smiled softly. "I promise you. It will all be fine."

He sniffled slightly as his arms wrapped around you in return.

"I don't know what I would do without you," he said. "Probably commit genocide or attempt world domination."

He laughed lightly at such a preposterous idea, which would of course never happen.
