"Hold up, you killed someone... with a fingernail file?"

"No, of course not. It was a letter opener."

You weren't sure how you had managed to end up curled up on the sofa with your girlfriend as she told you stories form her past. It had always been evident that her past had been overly dark, and she didn't want to tell you a lot of it, but some of it was amusing, more so since she had joined SHIELD.

Natasha did feel ashamed of what she had done before she joined SHIELD, but she knew she couldn't change it. Everyone did bad things but it happened to be worse than most, which just made her more grateful that Clint was able to make sure that she can have a second change- a second chance that she deserved.

Although most of her life and work did involve injury and death of people she was against, but there was a slightly light side to that matter in the terms of its occurrence.

"Didn't you have something a little more affective?" You questioned about her.

She shook her head moving slightly so that she could wrap her arm around you a little more to make sure that you stayed close to her.

"Well I did have my gun, but I was a bit caught up in not dying, so I just grabbed it from his desk," she shrugged as this was the most normal of occurrences and as though you should have known that was the case of what had happened.

As she got closer, you couldn't help but smile. This was a side of Natasha Romanoff not many people got to see. The Natasha that was sweet and cuddly. The Natasha that wore The Little Mermaid pyjamas and a pair of old slippers you had bought for her a couple of years ago. The Natasha that had a bright green face mask on and her hair tied back with an old head band.

Although she was one of the best assassins the world, she had a softer more affectionate side. No one would believe she liked to be held or liked to be pampered, but she had never experienced a chance to embrace this side of herself so she made the most of it when she was around you.

Natasha looked up at you, noticing the gentle smile on your face.

"What are you smiling at?" She asked rather confused due to the conversation having been on death and destruction.

"Nothing," you sighed contently. "Just your beautiful face."

She knitted her eyebrows together not fully sure why that had made you so happy.

"Y/N..." She trailed off wanting you to confirm the truth behind your smile.

"I just love you. You are the best and how sweet and relaxed you can be, it just makes me smile," you shrugged softly.

Natasha rolled her eyes moving to kiss you gently, not caring that her face mask was being smeared slightly over your face.

"I love you too."
