As a woman you couldn't enlist to fight for your country however you weren't going to sit back and not help the war effort. You were an assistant to Colonel Phillips. Your parents were proud and saw it as a prestigious job, working for one of the more prominent Colonel's in the American army. In all honesty it wasn't prestigious. You spent all day, running menial errands for the colonel and having to put up with his misogynistic troops.

Never being told anything other than what to get for his lunch, the colonel had introduced you to a British woman whom would be helping in commanding his troops. You knew Colonel Phillips wasn't fond of you seen as you had a mind of your own and questioned the menial tasks he expected of you, so it didn't surprise you when he loaded you off to Miss Carter to be her temporary assistant.

She was an amazing woman. You'd never had a female superior before, and you were glad your first female superior was Peggy Carter seen as she was a strong-minded and intelligent woman.

You weren't told why she was there, but you weren't going to complain. Today she was in command of some troops, helping them training.

She introduced herself and explained what was occurring throughout the training regime

In front of the two of you were a couple of dozen men at their physical prime, other than one man who you were pretty sure was shorter than yourself and you were probably far muscular.

"Does anyone have any questions?" Peggy asked.

Several men raised their hands.

"Yes," she said gesturing to a man on the right of the group.

He had smirk on his face. "How do you run in those heels?"

Peggy rolled her eyes at you before turning back to the man with a sly grin to her face. "How do I run in heels? Faster than you, that's for sure."

The man turned silent as some of the other chortled.

"What's your name?" Peggy asked.

"William, William Bradbury."

"Well Mr Bradbury, you have signed yourself and your peers to ten laps of the field. Do get to it," she smiled sweetly gesturing to the field behind you.

They were reluctant, but the men went off to do as they were told.

"You're brilliant Miss Carter," you smiled warmly, admiring her.

She let out a small laugh. "Peggy is just fine."

"My apologies. I've never had a female superior, I never imagined the first I'd have would be everything I want to be one day. If you don't mind my language, you don't take any crap from those men."

"Men are idiotic, there is no point in making them believe otherwise. I've never seen the point in keeping my head down and accepting a men's opinion if it is blatantly wrong," she smiled. "I am rather worried for America, if these are the best soldiers in your country."

You couldn't help but laugh at her statement. "It is a sorry excuse for an army. But I'm sure you'll get them in gear."
