Never had you wanted to go to Earth, you left long ago and never wanted to return. With the hell that was Thanos, destroying half of the universe's population, you had to put up with going to your home planet. Normally there was no excuse to go there but Rocket and Groot were meant to be there with the demigod Thor.

Honestly you weren't excited to see them, how were you meant to tell them that the rest of the team had succumbed to Thanos' plan? What if they had gone too?

As soon as you reached Earth, you had tracked them to Wakanda, leaving Nebula and Tony to do what they wanted whilst you searched for the last two of your friends that you hoped were still standing.

It was carnage. Many dead bodies strewn across the blood sodden scene, but you guessed many more would be there if Thanos hadn't clicked his fingers. It took a while until you found the raccoon you wanted slumped in the forest.

"Rocket?" You whispered.

He looked up at you, a weak smile on his face.

"Y/N, how'd you find me?" He asked.

"We tracked you," you said. "I'm so glad that you are okay. I was scared something had happened to you."

"Where's the others?" He questioned.

Your head fell solemnly. How the hell was you meant to tell him about the loss your team had faced? Yes, the team annoyed you senseless, but they were your family and you didn't want to tell one of your family members that another had gone.

"I'm sorry Rocket," you whispered. "They didn't make it."

"What do you mean?" He asked. "Did they disappear?"

You nodded your head.

"Quill?"

You nodded.

"Drax?"

You nodded.

"Mantis?"

You nodded.

"Gamora?"

You looked up from the ground.

"No, Thanos killed her to get the soul stone," you frowned. "She was the only one he truly loved and still killed her."

Rocket let out a sigh.

"You can at least tell me that Nebula bit the dust?" He laughed sadly, trying to make light of the situation.

A small smile curled onto your lips. "Sorry, she's still here. I left her in the battlefield, there's so much damage, I doubt she can do anything else to destroy it."

He nodded his head fondly, trying to wrap his head around your shared world that had now come crashing down around you.

"What about Groot?" You asked.

You didn't want the answer. Groot had sacrificed himself for the team and then became a child that everyone felt protective off, it terrified you to think you had lost him along with everyone else.

Rocket hesitated. "He's gone too."

Knowing Rocket well, you knew he was fighting back the tears that were fighting to fall. Groot was his best friend and like a son to him, it must have been hell to see him vanish before him.

"I'm sorry," you whispered, lowing your self down to hug him. "Thanos will pay."
